DealDash Helps Prepare for a Power Outage

DealDash

With many parts of the country coming into a rainy season soon it’s important to be prepared. Here are some tips from DealDash to deal with a power outage.

There are times when natural disasters are going happen, and sometimes bad weather may cause your power to go out. When the power goes out it can be a very stressful time. So many people are used to things such as the internet, frozen foods, and everything that you need power for. There are some ways to prepare for a power outage that you should know about. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Have a Plan

Sometimes you will know when a power outage is going to happen. However, at other times you may be clueless to the whims of the weather. Before you lose power you should create a plan with your family.  You should give each of your family members instructions on what to do such as who gets the flashlights and batteries. When you have a plan in action you will be well prepared. Remember, even the youngest members of your family will want to be prepared and know what will happen if the power goes out.

Have the Necessary Supplies

You need certain supplies when the power is going to go out. It is best to have canned foods, plenty of water, flashlights, and batteries. Before the power goes out you have to make sure that your phone is completely charged so you can get emergency and weather alerts.

Some people might think that this is going overboard, but if you live in a region where the power goes out frequently you might consider investing in a flashlight/lantern/radio combo that can be electrically charged, manually cranked, or charged by a solar panel. Personally, I have one of these items and have gotten other ones for relatives as gifts. They don’t seem very useful until you really need them, but then they are a very handy thing to have.

Purchase a Generator

One of the smartest ways to prepare for a power outage is to purchase an at-home generator. It can be hard to choose the right generator so you should ask a trained electrician. They can give you advice and install the generator. It is important to have carbon monoxide alarms when you have a generator so make sure you also get those alarms installed. If you live in certain parts of the country such as the South East or Gulf Coast, then having a generator is a must.

DealDash Helps: Ace Your Exam

DealDash

Are there any adult learners out there? College as an adult can be tough. Here are some tips from DealDash to help you ace your next exam.

Studying for an exam is one of the most stressful things students have to do. This is especially true if you are an adult and are juggling school, your family, and a job all at the same time. It is easy to become stressed out because you have to remember everything that you have learned. Taking an exam may seem hard, but with the right strategy and focus you can pass an exam. There are 3 ways to prepare for a test, courtesy of DealDash.

Study on a Schedule

You have to come up with a study schedule in order to pass your exam. It is important to be familiar with the exam materials. Make sure you study your exam material in advance so your brain will have time to soak it all in. You should come up with a schedule and a specific time to study for your test.  It is best to write your schedule on a calendar or in a planner to stay organized. If you have kids at home you will probably have to do this after they go to bed. Try to make a habit of getting your study time in every night.

Set Up Study Goals

It is important to set up specific study goals so you can properly organize your study time. Once you figure out your goals, you can see what you need to accomplish and focus on the important things that you need to study first. It is very important to take a study break so you will not get overwhelmed by the material. Bring a little snack with you to your study area so you can take a break halfway through to re-energize you.

Review the Material

Once you finish studying you should quiz yourself on what you have learned. You can create a set of questions or use flashcards to make sure that you have a complete understanding of the material. You can also create a study group or ask a friend or family member to help you. If you have older kids who can read you can help each other study.

Taking an exam may be a little scary, but with the right amount of preparation and studying for a test it will not be as hard as you think. These tips will help you stay focused and will keep you on track so you can be sure that you ace your exam.

DealDash Cleans Your Windows – 3 Tips

DealDash cleans windows

Spring cleaning is right around the corner. Here are some tips for cleaning your windows from DealDash.

Everyone likes to keep their house clean especially their windows. It is not attractive to have dirty windows when you look outside or when people drive by your house. It is easy for a window to get dirty because of fingerprints and dirt. This is especially true if you have pets or children. Some people think that it is hard to keep their windows clean, but here are 3 tips that can help you, from DealDash.

1 – Gather the Necessary tools

The first step is to gather the necessary tools to clean your windows. There are a few basic tools that you will need to clean your windows such as a sponge, squeegee, rag, a towel, and a bucket to put the cleaning solution in. Once you gather these materials you are ready to make your cleaning solution. Don’t worry, it won’t be as difficult as it sounds!

2 – Make a Cleaning Solution

The most important step is to make a cleaning solution. Some people recommended other types of solutions but using water and dishwashing liquid can be good enough. Remember to not use your average spray bottle and paper towels because that can leave your windows streaky.

You can also add some alcohol and/or vinegar to the cleaning solution to make it even more effective. If you have kids or pets I recommend using white vinegar only, and no alcohol. Both can clean windows and kill germs, but the vinegar is safe in case someone accidentally ingests some.

3 – Clean Your Windows

You can use a variety of cleaning tools to clean your windows. If you have a window with small panes, you should use a sponge, and for larger window panes you should use a squeegee. Remember to ring out all of the excess water before you begin to wash your window. After you finish one window it is important to dry it before you move to the next one. You can use a lint-free towel or even some newspaper!

Thanks for Reading

Cleaning your windows is not as hard as it sounds. Remember to clean your windows on a regular basis because they can easily become dirty. These 3 steps will help keep your windows clean and presentable.

I hope that this article has given you some good tips to get your windows clean. Thanks for reading the newest blog article. DealDash Kids: Help Them Set Goals

DealDash

Everyone needs goals – including kids! Let DealDash show you how to help your kids set goals.

Teaching your kids how to set goals should be something that you teach them from an early age. They should learn that setting goals is a fun and really simple thing to do. Here are some tips to keep in mind when you are looking to start teaching your kids about how to start setting goals. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Be Realistic

The first thing that you should do is teach your child to set reachable goals. You need to show them that it is easier to reach a goal that is realistic rather than setting goals that are really unrealistic and difficult to reach. This way your child will be less frustrated in the process of setting and reaching their goals.

For example, being able to do a slam dunk in basketball is a pretty unrealistic goal for a 6-year-old. A better goal would be to be able to shoot 10 baskets in a row. Setting smaller goals that are easier to reach can help your kids gain confidence.

Write Them Down

Second, writing down goals should also be part of your process of teaching your kids about setting goals. Writing your goals down gives your child something to see to remind them what their goals are. Keeping their goals fresh in their minds is going to go far in keeping them on track to meeting their goals. You can get a chalkboard to put in the kitchen so they can write down their goals and look at them whenever they want.

Review the Goals

Lastly, having your child create review points for their goals is also very smart. Basically, you will want them to set up points in time to review what they are doing to reach their goals. This way they can see if they need to do anything differently or if they are right on track to achieving their goals. For example, you could have them draw a poster documenting the review points on the way to reaching their goals.

Thanks for Reading

Setting goals can often seem like an adult thing to do, however, it is never too early to teach your kids about setting and reaching goals. You will find that by helping your child learn to do this that they will become a much more successful adult. Also, they will be much more likely to achieve the goals that they set for themselves.

DealDash Helps Your White Shoes Sparkle

DealDash

Keep those white shoes clean and sparkling. Let DealDash show you how.

Wearing shoes is a necessity. Many people like to wear different types of shoes, especially white shoes in the summer. When white shoes are clean, they often look very nice, but they can easily get dirty. You have to make sure that you keep your white shoes clean so they can remain stylish and white. White shoes are easy to clean. Here are 3 steps to clean white shoes, from DealDash.

Use Warm Water

You should fill a basin with some warm water to clean your shoes. Warm water will put less pressure on the color of your white shoes. It is important to use warm water, but you have to make sure that it is not too hot. You don’t want to burn your hands. Also be sure that the basin or wash tub is big enough to have enough water to clean the shoes. You don’t want to stop halfway through. You probably don’t want to use your sink for this.

Use Soap to Clean the Shoes

The next step is to get the dirt off of your shoes. Take a cloth and dip it into the water and add some soap. Rub the parts of the cloth that is soapy all over the white shoe. You don’t have to use any fancy soap. Dishwashing liquid or laundry detergent can easily make a lather and is perfect for cleaning shoes. Personally, I prefer the classic Dawn liquid dish soap, but choose one that you like and enjoy the scent.

Use a Brush

Using just soap is not always going to remove all of the stains on your white shoes. It is best to use a stiff bristle brush to scrub off the stains. You need to focus on the area of the stains that need to be removed. If you are not getting all of the stains off of your shoes, you can use a magic eraser or even toothpaste. The magic eraser is just perfect for the rubber parts of your white shoes. Give it a try!

Thanks for Reading

Cleaning your shoes can be a boring task, but if you want to keep them stylish, you have to clean them on a regular basis. It is important to rinse and dry the shoes after you are done cleaning them. Remember to let them dry and remove the shoelaces so that you can wash them in the dryer. These tips will help you keep your shoes clean so that you can keep your white shoes spotless.

I hope that this article has given you some good tips to get your white shoes clean. Thanks for reading the newest blog article. DealDash Helps: Volunteering Made Easy

DealDash

Have an urge to volunteer? Follow these easy tips from DealDash to get started.

Many people are interested in volunteering but aren’t exactly sure how to get started. Volunteering is a wonderful thing to do, it helps both your community and yourself at the same time. You always feel amazing after time spent helping others. Read on below for more information from DealDash.

Figure Out Where

Firstly, you’ll want to figure out where you want to volunteer. There are so many places right in your own community that would welcome your help. If you’re having trouble thinking of somewhere, here is a quick list of places you might want to consider:

  • An animal shelter
  • Your child’s school or PTA
  • A homeless shelter
  • A thrift/secondhand store (many benefit a cause, my local one donates to the animal shelter)
  • Your local park or nature preserve
  • A hospital

When Are You Available?

Next, you’ll want to figure out when you have time to volunteer. Can you only come sporadically or can you come weekly? Do you need a set or flexible schedule? Do you have the necessary criteria to volunteer? Some places, such as schools, will need you to have a CORI background check before you volunteer. Other places, such as the thrift store, do not have any such requirements.

After you have figured out when you have time to volunteer, see if the times you have available match up to the times at the place that you most want to volunteer. You might have to go through a few choices before you make a match.

For example, the place that I most wanted to volunteer was the NICU unit. They needed people to rock babies when the parents weren’t able to be there. Unfortunately, they required a commitment of 2 days per week for 6 months, which I just didn’t think that I could meet. Instead, I ended up volunteering at the library at my children’s school. The schedule is much more flexible and works with my lifestyle.

Sign Up, Show Up, and Feel Good

Finally, it’s time to make your choice and sign up as a volunteer. After you have made the big step in signing up, be sure that you show up at your assigned times. Trust me, after you have spent a session volunteering and helping others you will have a sunny new outlook on life. It feels good to help other people.

DealDash Helps Make Your Resolutions Stick

DealDash

If you plan on making a new year’s resolution this year you need to read this article. Let DealDash help you make your resolution stick.

With the new year approaching soon you are going to want to start thinking about whether or not you are going to make a resolution this year. Many people fail at their New Year’s resolution because they do not take the time to think about what the change in their life really means. Here are some ways to make resolutions that will actually stick, from DealDash.

Make Small Changes

You should make a small change that is easily achievable.  This will increase your chances of actually going through with your resolution. Too many people want to make resolutions that take a while to accomplish and they can get bored. They might also get frustrated and fail. Doing something that is easy to achieve will make a huge difference.

You could also make a series of small changes that add up to a big change. Such as if you want to lose 20 pounds you could make a goal of losing 5, then 10, then 20 pounds. It’s much easier to accomplish a large task when you break it up into smaller goals.

How Can You Make it Fun?

You should find a way to make sure that sticking with your resolution is fun and not a huge chore. For example, if you have set a resolution for weight loss make sure to start doing something you enjoy such as a dance class or maybe take a spinning class if you enjoy biking. It’s all up to you to make your resolution something you are going to want to achieve. It can also help to have a goal in sight, so perhaps make your resolution “to finish a 6-week exercise class” or “go to the gym 3 times per week for 3 months”.

Treat Yourself

If you feel like you are going to need some help in reaching your resolution goals create some incentives for yourself. For weight loss, you could buy new clothes. If you are looking to quit smoking take a weekend trip or something else fun to celebrate your success. Incentives can be a great help to make sure that you work your way to your goals. If you break down your big goal into smaller ones like I suggested above, then you can give yourself a small reward after accomplishing each step.

Thanks for Reading

New Year’s resolutions should not be something to dread. In fact, they should be something that you are going to want to embrace each year. Making positive changes can be a great thing to do in your life. So think hard and make sure that you can reach the resolution and you will see much more success in sticking to your resolutions.

If you’re going to be babysitting you will likely be wondering what kind of activities you can do with the kids that you will be watching. You will want to find fun things to do that will keep the kids happy and entertained. The following are several fun things that you do to help keep kids entertained while you are babysitting them, from DealDash.

Popcorn and Movies

You can decide to pop popcorn and watch a couple of movies. You can let the kids choose the movies. Do make sure that they have been approved by the children’s parents as well. This way you know that they are watching something that they are allowed to see. You can have a lot of fun watching movies with popcorn. You can even let the kids grab their favorite blanket and pillow to enjoy the movie with. If there is more than one child and they can’t decide on a movie you can put all of the suggestions on strips of paper and pick one.

Try Your Hand at Crafting

Most all kids love doing different crafts so this is definitely a kid friendly choice for activities. You can ask the parents to find out what crafts the kids like to do and put together a little craft kit for them to enjoy while you are babysitting them. You could also think of something new for them to try that would be suitable for their age level. Crafts really allow kids to have fun and let their creative side shine.

Read Some Stories

Reading to the kids that you are watching is another thing that you can do that would be a lot of fun. Not only is reading fun it will help the kids learn as well. You can make it even more fun by making up silly voices and asking the kids what they think will happen next. You can read one or two stories each night or day that you are watching the kids. The kids that you are watching might even like to read all of a series of books, such as The Berenstain Bears or the Clifford books.

Thanks for Reading

This is really just the start of the fun activities that you can do with the kids that you are babysitting. Take some time to think about what fun and age-appropriate things you can do to keep the kids happy and entertained while their parents are away.

DealDash Helps: Kids Learn Financial Responsibility

dealdash

Being responsible with money is a great tool to teach your child. Read on for some tips and tricks from DealDash.

One of the most important things that you can do as a parent is to teach your kids to be as responsible as possible with money. Since many kids are not taught this lesson they grow up with very bad habits when it comes to money. The great news is that no matter when you start teaching your kids about money you can help set them on the right path.

Help Them Save

You first need to teach your kids to save some money. They should use something like a piggy bank to save for something that they want to get in the near future. Your child could be saving for something like a special trip or special item. They also need to get a savings account set up so they can save for things like college or a car.

You can set them up with an old-fashioned account at a brick and mortar bank, but those typically charge fees. There are many online bank accounts that don’t charge any fees as long as you open up the account with a minimum amount of money, usually $100.

Help Them Spend Wisely

Nex, you need to teach them how to properly spend their money. Allow them to spend some of the money that they have been given or earn for small treats. This is so they do not expect you to come up with all the money for the things that they want. This will also give them the chance to appreciate the things that they get more.

My daughter is 6 years old, and she has quite a bit of money saved in her piggy bank from various birthdays and holidays. This year she wanted to buy her best friend at school a Christmas present with her very own money. This was a wonderful example for her to see why it’s important to save money for special occasions.

Show Them How to Donate

Finally, you need to also teach your child about how wonderful it is to give money to those less fortunate. You can help them choose a charity that means something to them and help them make a donation to that cause. If your child has a big heart for animals, for example, you can have them visit a local animal shelter to see how they operate. This will encourage them to donate in the future.

Thanks for Reading

While you should start teaching your kids as soon as possible about money, anytime is a good time to teach them this lesson. You will definitely be happy with the results. You will eventually see a happy adult that handles their money wisely when they grow up.

Have Anxiety? DealDash Has Information

DealDash

Anxiety affects many people. If you are one of them, read this article from DealDash.

For starters, what is generalized anxiety disorder? A generalized anxiety disorder is characterized by a pattern of frequent and constant worry and nervousness. This can be regarding real or imaginary events. When this feeling lasts for more than six months, then you know that it is time to get treatment. Hopefully, if you read this article you will make the decision to go see a doctor about your anxiety. They are there to help. Read on for more information, from DealDash.

What Causes Anxiety?

People who suffer from it often cannot describe what causes them to feel this sense of distress. Unfortunately, this can become an impediment to a normal life if the anxiety becomes the center of their lives.

Symptoms of This Disorder

The main symptom is the constant feeling of worry and nervousness even when there are no objective causes for it. Concerns can shift from one topic to another. These can include sentimental, economic, work, and family. Anxiety can always find a new motive. Even if you are aware of the main basis of your distress, it is difficult for people with anxiety to control it.

Other symptoms are more intense agitation, irritability, and more tension than usual or what would be reasonable in a given situation. People often have trouble concentrating and difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep.

Physical symptoms may include a headache, tremors, sweating, heart palpitations, muscle pain, weight loss, and digestive problems.

Causes of Generalized Anxiety Disorder

It is not known for sure what causes a person to suffer from anxiety, but it does seem to be a set of several causes. One of them can be genetic because often several generations of the same family have it. There is also evidence that certain chemical changes in the brain can lead to an anxiety disorder. Anxiety often occurs along with other mental disorders, such as panic attacks or depression that affect serotonin levels.

Treatment of Anxiety

Treatment of mental illness is never straightforward and often involves different branches. These branches include therapy and medication. These include antidepressants (tricyclic, SSRIs), buspirone and (short-term) benzodiazepines. These medications should never be taken without medical supervision. Also, they need to be prescribed by your doctor.

Stress reduction methods are also often recommended. These methods can include exercise and relaxation techniques. Also, you can try dietary modifications. Reducing caffeine, stimulants, and alcohol can be especially helpful in reducing anxiety.

Other stress reduction methods can include long walks, hot baths, and spa treatments. Whatever makes you feel happy and relaxed should be at the top of your to-do list when your anxiety is bothering you.

DealDash Helps: Buy Baby Clothing Online

DealDash

As a busy parent or grandparent, it makes sense to buy baby clothing online. Here are some tips and suggestion from DealDash.

Let’s face it, just about everyone thinks baby clothes are adorable. No matter if you are getting clothes for your baby or purchasing a present for someone having a baby soon, you can’t deny the appeal of baby clothes. But what should you know when you are purchasing baby clothes online? Here are some tips to help you make sure that you are making the right choices, from DealDash.

Think About the Season

First of all, you need to think about the season that the baby will be born in. This is important because you need to make sure that you are getting clothes that the baby will actually be able to use. So make sure you pay attention to the weather when it comes to purchasing baby clothes online. Spring, summer, fall, winter – there’s no wrong season to have a baby. Just make sure that you are buying the correct season of clothing!

Babies Grow Fast

Also, keep in mind that a baby grows very quickly. So you need to purchase baby clothes that are going to fit the baby’s current size. Nothing would be worse than to find a cute outfit for a baby to wear only to get it in a size the will not fit the baby. Additionally. if you find a baby outfit online that you think the parents would like to see their child in for some time then get the outfit in multiple sizes.

Buy Even Larger Sizes

Since you can find a lot of great deals online, you just might want to consider shopping ahead of time for the baby’s clothes. You would need to buy slightly larger clothes so that you know that you know that the clothes will fit at different times in the baby’s growth.

An excellent time to do this is right after Thanksgiving on “Cyber Monday.” Often many stores that you would typically shop at for baby clothes have amazing online sales. Unfortunately, though, many times these are out of season clothing. Do a little bit of simple math to figure out how old the baby will be when the season comes around, and buy that size of clothing.

Thanks for Reading

Shopping online is a great idea for those looking to purchase baby clothes as it is very convenient. You can have the clothing delivered right to your front door.  It’s the perfect option for those that are looking to avoid high-priced boutiques as well as those that might be too busy to get to a local store.

DealDash Helps: Is Working at Home Right for You?

DealDash

Have you ever wondered if working at home might be a good fit for you? Read on for information from DealDash.

No matter if you are a first-time parent or a parent of several children you might wonder if working at home might be the right solution for your family.  There are many things that you need to keep into consideration before making that choice. Here are some of the things you might want to consider, from DealDash.

Do You Have Support?

Do you have the support of your family? Working from home is more difficult than you think so you need to be sure that you have a solid support system put in place. If you do not you just may find that working from home just might not be the right option for you.

If you have a spouse, make sure that they are on board with your plan to work from home. Do you plan on being a freelancer? If so, you most likely won’t have access to a group health insurance plan. Make sure that your spouse is able to provide health insurance for the family.

Telecommuting Might Be an Option

Does your place of work offer telecommuting options? This should be one of the first few things that you consider when you want to work from home. If your place of work offers telecommuting options this would be your easiest transition into working from home. If they don’t you will need to consider a career change or becoming a freelancer.

Do You Have Space?

Do you have room in your house to work from home? You will need to make sure that you have an area set aside for you to work from home in. Having a dedicated area to work from home will allow you to focus on the work that you need to get done. It would be extremely helpful if this area has a door, but it isn’t a must.

Will You Still Need Daycare?

Will you still need childcare when you work from home? Now, this seems to negate the purpose of working from home, however, there are many people that work from home that have childcare for their kids. Typically this is for a small portion of the day so they can get their work done instead of full-time daycare. Some people can do without daycare, but this but it is definitely something to consider.

Thanks for Reading the Blog

Taking all of these things into consideration will help you to make the best choices as to whether or not working at home is the right choice for your family.

DealDash Health: Spend Less Time Sitting

DealDash

Sitting too much can be bad for your health. Here is more information from DealDash.

One of the pains that most refers to people who spend a lot of time sitting throughout the day is back pain in the lower back. This is better known as low back pain. Why does this pain occur? To begin with, because the sitting position is not the natural position of the human being: our body is designed to move, not to spend eight hours a day or possibly, even more, sitting in front of a screen. There are some things that you can do to help. Read on for more information, from DealDash.

Why Exactly is Sitting Bad for Your Health?

Spending a lot of time sitting down also causes the muscles in the central part of the body to lose their role in helping to maintain a correct posture. Once those muscles have weakened you’re going to have a natural slouch. You will have to work hard to get those muscles back into shape.

How Can I Avoid This Problem?

  1. Start the day with a little exercise: starting to move early in the morning won’t take up much time. About ten to fifteen minutes is enough to do a lot of good for your health and posture.
  2. Walk to your job or use an alternative means of transportation such as a bicycle. A bicycle can be a good investment when it comes to urban mobility. If this isn’t possible due to distance, perhaps you could ride your bicycle to a bus stop or train station to get to work.
  3. Choose the stairs instead of the elevator. If you go to work by the metro or train, a good plan to start moving a little more is to avoid the escalators and opt for the traditional stairs instead.
  4. Maintain a correct posture while sitting. If you are going to sit for a long time, be sure you are in a good position. Make sure your back is straight (always respecting the natural curvature of your spine) and resting on the backrest of the chair. The height of the chair should allow you to rest both feet on the floor (avoid crossing one leg over the other) and keep your knees at an angle of about ninety degrees.
  5. Obtain a standing desk. If possible, see if your employer will purchase a standing desk for you. If they won’t provide this for you, perhaps you could get a standing desk converter kit, instead.

Thanks for Reading

Thank you for taking the time to read this new DealDash Reviewed blog on healthy standing. Of course, integrating physical exercise into your daily routine and eating a healthy diet will also be helpful in avoiding the consequences that come from too much sitting.

DealDash Helps Start Your Day Out Right

DealDash

No matter what your job it’s important to be productive and alert during your day. Let DealDash give you some tips and tricks to help.

There’s nothing worse than waking up at nine, thinking you’ll get lots of things done, and then glancing over at the clock and realizing it’s half-past ten and all you’ve done so far is have a couple of coffees. There is, however, another way to wake up, which means you can be getting stuff done quicker. Read on for some tips on how to have a productive morning, from DealDash.

The Night Before

I’m not going to tell you to get eight hours sleep because I think we all know that one. However, make sure you’re getting sleep in increments of 1.5 hours (the average sleep cycle) + 15 minutes (the time it takes to fall asleep). Part of the reason we feel groggy when we wake up is that we’ve caught ourselves in the middle of R.E.M. or when we’re just about to go into deep sleep. This is the time when our bodies will most reject waking up, so it’s best to avoid it.

Set Your Clock

You can work this two ways – see what time you want to sleep and set your alarm accordingly, or set your alarm, and fall asleep accordingly. There are apps out there like SleepyTime for iOS which can calculate this for you. If you’re still feeling tired for a long time after waking, try experimenting and see if your sleep cycles are longer or shorter than average. Try moving your bedtime earlier by 15 minute increments and see what feels right to you.

Make a To-Do List for the Next Day

But before you go to bed, consider writing a to-do list. One reason why we take so long to get going is that we don’t really know why we’re even getting up. You might have vague plans to clean the kitchen or to finish off that book isn’t helpful for the brain. In fact, it’s positively overwhelming. So write down what you want to get done and do it very precisely, into each individual task, rather than the whole. Clean the kitchen becomes clean surfaces, pots and pans, sweep, etc.

Another reason why writing a to-do list before bed is that sometimes it’s hard to sleep when you’re thinking about your chores for the next day. Once you have written them on your to-do list it’s easy to mentally cross them off in your mind.

Sleep Preparation Begins Early

There are lots of things we can do to get prepared for sleep, but one of the important ones is to stop looking at blue lights such as screens. Better yet, read or write for a while with dim lights to get ready for sleep. If you struggle to unplug before you sleep, try putting your phone on its charger on the other side of the room (with your alarms already set). Then get a book or magazine, and try reading for a while. If you don’t use your phone for your alarm, then you can even leave your phone in another room.

Drink More Water

Lastly, when you do wake up, you’re almost certainly dehydrated. We spend eight-plus hours without drinking, and often only have a coffee to wake us up. Combat this by having a glass of water as soon as you wake. Preferably, kee it by your bed so you can drink it as soon as you need to. You also need to eat. Preferably, something with lots of protein and carbohydrates, to give you energy through the day, rather than just a sugar rush from sweet cereal.

If you follow all of these tips, you should have better, more active mornings. But if you still feel sluggish, consider talking to your doctor about it, it’s possible that you are missing some nutrients or vitamins in your diet that can easily be corrected.
