DealDash Throws a Budget Summer Party

DealDash

Summer is coming, why not throw a summer party? Let DealDash help you keep things on budget with these tips.

Summer is the perfect time for parties. Whether you are having a beach party or a party inside, you need to have a budget. Many people want to throw the most impressive party of the year, but you don’t have to spend a lot of money to do that. Here are some tips to throw a summer party on a budget, from DealDash.

Make or Buy Cheap Invitations

Unless you are sending out wedding invitations, you can use simple invitations to let your guests know about your party. Your party does not always need paper invitations.  Just simply sending out an email invitation can have the same effect. You can also create an event page on Facebook so that everyone can RSVP. Another idea might be to make your own cards. All you need is a stack of construction paper, a printer, and a little time and creativity.

Budget Your Decorations

You don’t have to spend a lot of money on decorations. Instead of getting stressed out about not having fancy china, you can mix and match bowls with different designs.  If you are having a fancy party and you want place cards you can use everyday items and use a sharpie to write the guests name. For a centerpiece, you can use candles from the dollar store. You don’t have to blow the budget to still make things nice. A few discount bouquets of flowers from the grocery store will look great, and make things into a party atmosphere. Additionally, if you would like to have balloons at your party, the dollar store has helium balloons, and quite a large selection at that!

Cheap but Tasty Food

Instead of cooking the most expensive meat or dessert you can easily budget your money by using appetizers. You can create your own appetizers by adding dip with vegetables, and fruit. If you are tight on money, you can have a summer potluck. When you have a potluck, your guests bring a dish, and you can cook the main dish. Saving money on food will help your budget. Also, you could skip the real food altogether and throw a make-your-own ice cream sundae party. It’s a lot of fun, delicious, and the guests will love it.

DealDash Budgeting: Grocery Money

DealDash

Groceries are something that you can’t just skip for a month like eating in restaurants. Here are some tips from DealDash to budget for your grocery shopping.

We all need food to survive.  Over the years the cost of food has risen substantially. Many people around the world have had a hard time-saving money on food. To save money on groceries, you have to have a budget.  Without a budget, you can potentially be losing a lot of money every month. It may seem hard to stick on a budget when you are tight on money. Here are 3 ways to budget money for groceries, from DealDash.

Clipping Coupons

Using coupons to save money on groceries is the smartest thing you can do today. People use to just cut coupons out of newspapers, but now there are new ways to use coupons. For example, you can download a stores smartphone app for coupons. Make sure you keep the newspaper coupons in a coupon folder.  Coupons will save you a lot of money on groceries. Just be sure to buy only things that you would buy anyway – don’t buy something just because you have a coupon for it!

Buy Store Brand (Generic) Items

Another way to save money is to buy store brand products such as a Walmart or the supermarket’s brand. It is cheaper than buying name brand products, but it still has the same great taste. Almost all foods have a store brand version. Buying store brands will make a difference in your budget for groceries. Of course, there are always a few foods that taste better as the name brand. However, it’s smart to give each one a try to see what foods you can save money on by getting the store brand instead.

Make a List

Making a list will help you stick to a budget. It is so easy to buy anything and everything when you don’t have a list of what you are going to buy. Make sure you make your list in order based on what you are going to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. When you make a list, you will have an easier time sticking to your budget. You will also find that this makes shopping much easier and faster as well. Save time and money, win-win!

Thanks for Reading

Saving money on groceries does not have to be difficult. Remember to never go to the store hungry and always focus on saving money instead of buying expensive brands. When you have a budget for food, you will never have to worry about running out of money.

There are lots of budget-friendly ways to have fun. Here are some tips from DealDash for budget-friendly entertainment.

There are so many options to choose from when it comes to entertainment. You could go to the movies, go out dancing or have fun at an amusement park.  Life is boring without entertainment, and it is a very important part of everyday life. You have to have fun once in awhile. Most people think that you have to have a lot of money in order to have a good time. That is not always the case. You can save money on entertainment and still enjoy yourself. Here are 3 tips to save money on entertainment, from DealDash.

Attend Free Activities and Events

Now that the weather is getting warmer there will be a lot of free events in your hometown.  You should take advantage of free concerts, street fairs, carnivals, and block parties that are within your community.  Some activities have free days such as museums and zoos. It is best to keep an eye on your local newspaper or city website for free events. Many cities even have an email list that you can sign up for to get weekly free activity updates.

Use a Different Cable Method

One of the easiest ways to entertain yourself is to watch TV.  Cutting the cord will help you save a lot of money on entertainment. Instead, use different subscriptions such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime features movies and your favorite TV shows as new episodes are available. You will not miss traditional cable when you switch to these alternatives. Also, you can simply rent, borrow, or purchase DVDs and Blu-Rays.

The Library is Your Friend

A library is a free place that you can hang out and relax. You don’t even have to worry about buying or renting any books or movies.  There are plenty of free things that you can do at the library such as surf the internet and borrow movies and books. The best part is that a library card is free, so you should take advantage of having a library card.

The library is a great place for free entertainment especially if you have kids. My library often has free events for kids such as crafts, free storytime, and once there was even a free reptile show. The library is a great place that you can entertain the whole family for free.

DealDash: Why Your Study Method Isn’t Working

DealDash

Is your study method not working? Here are some tips from DealDash to help.

Studying can be a daunting task. You have to take the time out of your busy day to focus on your school work. This is especially true if you are an adult student who has gone back to college. Many people have a hard time studying and understanding their material. You may have heard tips to help you study, but if you are not having good results you need to change your studying method. How do you know if your studying method is not working? Here are 3 Reasons why your studying method is not working, from DealDash.

You Did Not Start Early Enough

Last minute studying will put a damper on your grades. You need to have plenty of time to study for a test. You should give yourself about a week to study for your test. Studying for a week can give you time to come back and forth to the material when you need to refresh your memory. Remember to come up with a study schedule, so you can study your material in the right amount of time. Remember, every minute counts, so if you can find just 10 minutes here and there during your day it will help.

You Are Not Focused

We live in a day and age where there are constant distractions. You have TV shows, cell phones, and social media that can distract you during your study time. Make sure you are in a quiet place when you are studying. Turn off all distractions and try to do some deep breathing before you begin to study. This will help you relax while you study. If possible, try to leave your phone in a different room when you are studying. The constant blips and beeps can be very distracting and make you want to pick up your phone.

You Are Not Prepared

You have to be prepared when you are studying for a test. If you have any additional questions, you should ask a teacher or come up with some cool ways to remember information. You can quiz yourself with your friends or turn it into a trivia game. Being prepared and knowing the material will help you succeed at studying. Personally, I have always found that writing things down over and over again can help me remember them.

DealDash Quick Tips for Allergy Season

DealDash

If you suffer from seasonal allergies there are a few things that you can do to try to ease your sniffles a bit. Here are some helpful tips from DealDash.

More than 50 million Americans suffer from seasonal allergies such as pollen. If you’ve been wondering if there’s anything that you can do to ease your suffering, DealDash has a few tips for you. Read on for some helpful information from DealDash.

Try Saltwater

As with a scratchy throat due to a cold, gargling warm salt water can help for allergies as well. Mix up a spoonful of regular table salt with a cup of warm water. Gargle with this twice per day while you are suffering from allergies. It can help ease your dry, scratchy throat.

Don’t Bring the Outside In

I have never been a fan of keeping my shoes on inside. I always make my family take them off right at the front door. If you’re suffering from seasonal allergies, then it’s important that you get into this habit as well. Pollen and other allergens can cling to your shoes as you’re walking around outside and you can bring them in and scatter them throughout your house by just walking around.

Shower the Pollen Away

When the pollen counts are high for the day, it’s important to take a shower in the evening before you get into bed. Even if you change into pajamas and fresh socks, there is still pollen clinging to your hair and skin that you can transfer to your bed.

Keep it Clean

If you are suffering from seasonal allergies you need to make sure that you do some extra cleaning around the house. No matter how careful you are about taking off your shoes and showering at night, you’re going to get some pollen in your house. Doing some extra dusting, vacuuming, and mopping is important if you’re suffering from seasonal allergies.

Making scrapbooks is an enormously popular pastime that you should definitely do with your kids. There are so many different things that you can do with a scrapbook. So just why should you try making a scrapbook with your kids? Lots of reasons! Here are a few from DealDash for you to think about.

Get Creative!

Making a scrapbook with your kids will allow them to be creative. There really is no right or wrong when it comes to scrapbooks so you can let your kid’s creativity go wild. It will really let them be able to create something that they will be happy to share. Hopefully, they will continue to enjoy in the future. So make sure to plan for your kids to show their creativity while creating a scrapbook. Kids love arts and crafts, they’ll love it!

Learn About Their Family

Making a scrapbook is a great way for your child to learn more about their family. You can tell them stories from when they were younger or about you and your spouse before they were born. Photos are a great way to remember the past and keep great memories close to their hearts. The great thing about scrapbooks is that they don’t necessarily need to be about family. They can be about a fun trip or even about a family pet.   So plan for at least an hour or two of working with your kids on the scrapbook that you plan on making. This is also a great way to tell your kids about people in the family that they never got to meet or they don’t see very often.

What’s Important to Your Kids?

Making scrapbooks allows your kids to think about things that are important to them. From family to friends there are a whole lot of people, places, and things that your kids can put into a scrapbook. It really gives them the opportunity to save valuable things in a fun and creative way. Maybe they would like to make a scrapbook of a special trip, or even of a whole school year.

DealDash Tips for Studying in a Group

DealDash

Are you back in college or have a child in college? Here are some of the top tips from DealDash for studying in a group.

Studying can be a boring task, but it is necessary for academic success.  In order to be successful, you must study your class materials. Studying does not have to be a daunting task. There are many ways to make prepping for a test or doing a project interesting. One way to make studying fun is to form a study group. Here are 3 tips for group studying, from DealDash.

Choose the Right People

In order to have a successful study group, you have to form a group of people that are determined and focused. You can’t just have just anyone in your group.  A study group should have between three to five members. It is important to study for one to three hours. Choosing the right people will help make studying much easier.

When you form the study group you should have an “end date” for the group such as the end of the semester. This way, if there is a person who isn’t meshing well with the group you won’t have to ask them to leave and have any hard feelings, you just won’t invite them back for the next semester.

Find a Good Meeting Place

It is important to find a good place to study. Studying somewhere noisy or where a lot of people are can be distracting.  When you choose quiet places to study such as a library or conference room you will have more success at studying for your finals or exams.  Remember to leave all distractions at home or put them away such as your phone, or social media. Many churches have meeting rooms available as well, even if you don’t attend the church. You can simply call the office and ask to reserve one of the rooms in advance.

Stay Focused and Organized

It is easy to get distracted and unorganized when you are studying in a group.  It is important to choose a group leader that will keep everyone focused and on track.  The person who came up with the study group idea should be the leader. If you are not up to the task of being the leader, be sure to invite someone to join who is willing and able to lead the study group.

Thanks for Reading

Studying does not have to be a hard task. You can easily form an effective study group by following these instructions. Just remember to keep all of your materials organized and eliminate all possible distractions. If you follow these studying tips you will have no problem passing your class with flying colors.

DealDash: Tips to Bring Positivity into Your Life

DealDash

There are lots of small things that you can do to add more positivity to your life. Here are just a few, from DealDash.

No matter how wonderful your life is and how happy you are there are always things that you can do to add more positivity to your life. Some of these tips might be things that you are already doing, and some you might not have thought of. Read on for some great positive tips from DealDash.

Turn a Negative into a Positive

There are lots of different ways to look at a situation, and sometimes it’s easiest to see the negatives. However, if you look a bit further you can probably find some positives as well. For example, my oldest child got held back in Kindergarten, which at first glance seemed like a pretty negative thing. However, when you think about it a little bit longer, you can see the positive, that he just wasn’t ready for first grade, so he gets a whole additional year to get prepared. You can turn (almost) anything negative into a positive.

Ignore the Small Negatives

Lots of tiny bad things probably happen to you every day. Maybe you wake up late and don’t have a chance to get yourself a coffee, you break your nail rushing to get your things into your purse for work, and then they are out of your favorite type of sandwich at the place you went to get lunch. Any of those little things have the possibility to sour your day, but don’t let it! Try to just let those tiny inconveniences roll off your back. It may take some practice, but eventually, it will become second nature to you.

Stop Comparing Your Life to Others

Have you ever heard the old quote “Comparison Is the Thief of Joy” from Theodore Roosevelt? It means, basically, that comparing your life to your friends, neighbors, or even celebrities will just make you unhappy.

If you see that people on your social media sites are posting all of the amazing things that happen to you and it’s making you jealous – just remember, they don’t post all of the bad things that happen to them. People tend to only post the great things that happen to them, so it looks like they have a perfect life. Don’t compare your life to theirs, because it will just make you feel unhappy. Focus on the positives in your life, and less on others.

Pamper Yourself

Hey, everyone needs a little pampering. Having a bad day sometimes is inevitable. It’s how you respond to the bad day that matters. Get yourself a little pick-me-up pampering item from DealDash, and feel better fast!

Thanks for Reading

I hope this article has given you some ideas on how to keep things in your life positive.  These things are easy to do with a little practice and being mindful of your thoughts.

Thanks so much for reading this DealDash article on positivity. Don’t forget to check back every day for new articles here. Also read our sister blog, DealDash Tips. We love to hear from our readers. If you have any comments please leave them down below.

DealDash Kids: Throw a Fun Classroom Party

DealDash

Now that we’re more than 2/3rds through the school year it’s a common time to have classroom parties. Here are some great tips for throwing a classroom party, from DealDash.

Have you volunteered to help throw a party in your child’s classroom? If you are unsure as to where to start, this article from DealDash can help. It can seem like an overwhelming task at first, but hopefully, these helpful tips will make things a little easier for you. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Communicate with the Teacher

You want to make sure that you are properly communicating with all of the people that will be assisting you with the party. Make it a point to stay in contact with the teacher and classroom paraprofessional, but also any other parent volunteers. You need to make sure that everyone knows exactly what they need to be doing during the party. This way things will go a lot smoother during the party as everyone will know what their jobs are.

Split the Kids into Groups

Make sure to split the kids up into several different groups during the party. This way all of the kids will have a better chance to be able to do each activity that you have planned for the party. If you have all the kids in one big group there will be kids that will not get their turn to try each activity. If they are in several different groups it allows everyone to get their chance. This is also helpful for separating certain children who don’t work well together or distract each other from completing tasks.

Small Prizes Get Big Smiles

You will want to find prizes for everyone participating in the party. You don’t want anyone to feel bad for not getting something at the party so make sure to encourage everyone to give everything a try so they can get a prize. These prizes don’t have to be expensive. Some ideas for small prizes:

  • Stickers
  • Temporary tattoos
  • Self-inking stamps
  • Rubber bracelets
  • Plastic rings
  • Candy (Make sure that they are nut-free in case of allergies)

Snacks and Treats

If you have snacks or treats for the party make sure that you have them when the party is wrapping up. That way you do not have to worry about things getting too messy. Again, make sure that these treats are nut-free. Also, make sure to take lots of pictures during the party so that everyone can remember what a fun time they had at the party.

Thanks for Reading

As you can see there are all kinds of things that you can do to make your classroom party go more smoothly. You should not get too stressed out when you are ready to plan a classroom party. With a little planning you will find that it is actually quite simple to plan a great party that the kids will love.

Ah, spring. The time of sun, rain, and allergies. However, with all of these things comes another great positive – April vacation! My kids love April vacation, and I bet your kids and grandkids do, too. What will you do with your week off of school? Let DealDash help you figure it out. Spring has so much potential for the activities you can do with your family outside, enjoying the beautiful warmth after three long months of cold. How do we best enjoy this wonderful time of year? We just need a little imagination and some spare time. But hey, that’s what spring break is for, right?

Pick Up a Frisbee

Some of the most enjoyable Springtime moments come from time outdoors with your family. April vacation is the perfect time to learn a new skill – why not how to throw a frisbee? Your kids will love tossing around a frisbee with you. Not only is it fun it’s also healthy for your body and your coordination.

Baseball or Softball

If your kids are a bit older, then April vacation is the perfect time to play some baseball or softball with them. You don’t need a field and full teams of nine people each for a friendly game. See if the neighbor kids want to join in, and get pitching!

Keep the Electronic Devices Off

Try to turn off the television, video games, and tablets for all of April vacation. This is the perfect time for getting outside, getting some sun, and burning off that energy from the long winter. It’s known that an object in motion tends to stay in motion – so let’s get that motion started and keep those devices off. Otherwise, your kids are just going to waste away the beautiful days in front of the TV.

If Your Kids Are Less Athletic

If your kids aren’t very athletic, no problem. We all have our own lifestyles and preferences. April vacation is a wonderful time to get your preparations for the garden started. My 6-year-old daughter isn’t much for sports, but she loves to be outside and helping with the garden.

Another fun thing to do to pass the time is hunting neat rocks in the creek or park and painting them. There is actually an article here on DealDashReviewed.com that explains how to do that. Just click here and read all about it.

Finally, another fun thing to do with your time would be building and painting a birdhouse with your kids. We did this last year and it was so much fun. If you’re handy you can build your own, but we got ours as a kit that simply needed to be assembled and painted.

Thanks for Reading

DealDash Kids: Volunteer With Your Children

DealDash

We’ve talked about the benefits of volunteering before. Your kids can get the same satisfaction of helping others by volunteering as well. Here are some tips to get started, from DealDash.

Spending time with your kids is very important.  There are many things that you can do with your kids such as going to the park, go on vacations and other activities.  One of the best things to do with your kids is to volunteer and give back to your community. This will teach your kids how to serve others all while bonding with them. There are many volunteer activities you can do with your kids. Here are some ideas for volunteer work, from DealDash.

Write Cards for Kids Who are Sick

We can’t imagine how hard it must be to stay inside all day in the hospital when you are a kid. Writing cards and letters to kids in the hospital will bring a smile to the patient.  Simply have your kids write a letter to one of the kids, and they will form an awesome friendship with the young child that they are writing to. If your child is not quite writing yet, then find a nice blank card or picture to color, and let them color, and after you can write a nice message for them.

Sing for Senior Home Residents

Another activity that you can do is sing to the elderly in a nursing home. Persuade your children to explore their talent with music. You can write the songs for the elderly, or you can sing some of the songs that the seniors grew up with. You will brighten a senior citizens day by singing beautiful songs to lift their spirits. Trust me, the seniors won’t care if your kids can’t carry a tune, they just love to see little smiling faces.

Clean Up the Neighborhood Park

Cleaning outdoors is a great activity for kids. You can put together a neighborhood cleaning group to clean the parks in your neighborhood. You will be keeping your community clean and safe when you take time to clean up your neighborhood park. After you finish, you should have a picnic to reward yourself for your good deeds. Kids don’t mind this activity as much as you think they might, they like to be outside in the fresh air and sunshine.

Thanks for Reading

Volunteering with your kids can be a lot of fun. I hope these suggestions will give you some ideas on what volunteer activities you should do with your kids. Try one of these tips or all of them at different times. Regardless of which one you choose you will feel satisfied that you and your child are helping someone in need.

Treat your kids to the hobby that will last a lifetime. Here are some tips to gardening with your kids, from DealDash.

Gardening is one of the most relaxing activities to do and can be fun for kids.  Kids can learn about the life cycle process such as how plants grow, caretaking, and being aware of the environment.  There are some tips that you should know about if you want to do some gardening with your kids. Here are two important tips to take into consideration when you are gardening with your kids, from DealDash.

Choose Plants Kids Want to Grow

When you are looking for plants to grow, you should choose plants that kids love.  Kids enjoy plants that grow quickly and have a strong smell. Some plants to take into consideration are vegetables such as peas, tomatoes, squash, lettuce, and radishes.  Plants like potatoes and carrots are also fun to plant because kids easily recognize them. Talk with your kids to see which plants they would like to grow.

Fun Gardening Projects

There are many different gardening projects for kids. You can create a rainbow garden by planting plants that coordinate with the colors of the rainbow. Another fun theme to do is create a pizza garden.  All you have to do is organize the crops in a circle and have each kid pick a wedge to represent the ingredients of a pizza. In every wedge, you should plant crops that can be found on pizza such as onions and tomatoes.  When the crops are grown, you can use it for pizza. Be sure to give this one a try, it makes things extra fun!

I hope these tips will help you have a fun experience planting in your garden with your kids. Remember to give each of your kids a patch in your garden.  It will give them space away from other plants in your garden. It is also important to use kid-friendly gardening tools. DealDash Presents Great Places to Volunteer

DealDash

Volunteering can be a great experience for the young or old. Here are some great suggestions of where you can help, from DealDash.

Volunteering is one of the best things that you can do to help out other people. Many people volunteer for different reasons, but most people volunteer to lend a helping hand.  If you have some extra time on your hands, you should consider volunteering. There are many places that you can volunteer. It all depends on what you like to do. A lot of people don’t know about all of the wonderful volunteer opportunities that are available. Here are the 3 best places to volunteer, from DealDash.

Food Pantries

Food pantries are one of the best places to volunteer.  As you might imagine, food banks can always use some help when it comes to feeding the needy. You can hand out hot meals, do fundraising, cooking or even data entry. Whatever you choose to do you will be making a difference in solving the issue of hunger.  Almost every hometown has a food bank, so it is easy to get started with volunteering at a food pantry. There often food pantries in churches. If you attend church, why not ask if they have a food pantry that they need people to volunteer in?

Animal Shelter

Local animal shelters need a lot of volunteers. Every day people bring in their unwanted pets.  You could be answering phone calls, feeding the animals, answering emails, and doing some administrative work. It is best to connect with a local animal shelter in your hometown to volunteer.

The local animal shelter is a great place to volunteer as a family, as well. If you have kids who love animals, why not volunteer on a regular basis to come walk dogs? It’s fun, helpful, and good exercise as well.

Libraries

Volunteering at your local library can be a rewarding experience. Many libraries have reading programs for kids such as a summer reading program.  You can be putting books back on the shelves, assisting patrons, and running events. Ask your library if they need any volunteers. It will look good on your resume.

If you have a school-aged child, you could also volunteer to work in their school library. This is how I choose to volunteer. Every Friday I spend an hour at my children’s school volunteering in the school library.

Thanks for Reading

Volunteering is a fun and easy task to do. These places are the best places to start when you want to volunteer your time. Remember to do some research in your local area on the volunteer opportunities that you want to try. If you keep looking for volunteer jobs, you will eventually find a position that will change your life and other people’s lives. Volunteering can be a rewarding experience, for you and those that you are choosing to help.

DealDash Veggie Planting for Beginners

DealDash

Are you thinking about starting a veggie garden this year? Here are some great plants for beginners, from DealDash.

Having a garden is a wonderful hobby. Planting vegetables is one of the most popular plants to have in your garden. Sometimes it takes awhile for vegetables to grow and a strategy to help them grow. Some vegetables are perfect for planting for beginners. If you are just starting out with gardening, the following vegetables to plant are a great way to start out. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Potatoes

Potatoes are a fun crop to grow during the late March and February. You plant potatoes by using a potato bag that is partly filled with some compost. When you see that the roots of the potatoes are beginning to grow, you should cover them with more compost.  Potatoes are one of the easiest vegetables to grow from your home. Not only are the easy to grow, they are very prolific, and you will have tons of potatoes on your hands in no time.

Peas

Peas are the perfect vegetable to grow for beginners during cooler weather. You should sow the seeds into the ground during March and June. Soon you will enjoy the delicious flavor of peas from June to August.  You will enjoy the taste of fresh peas. The more peas you pick, the better they will produce. If you would like to get your seedlings started inside, you can do that right now! If you’d like to wait a little longer and plant them outside, just wait until your ground has thawed.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are one of the fastest growing plants, so they are perfect for beginners.  Choose a bush such as a Cherry Cascade that can be planted in window boxes. Bush varieties do not require side-shotting or any training, so you just need to water and feed them before the tomatoes start growing. If you don’t want to grow them from seeds, no problem! Buy some baby plants from your local garden store and replant them into pots or into the ground when it gets a bit warmer out. Tomatoes are all three of my kid’s favorite veggie to grow in the summer.

Radishes

Radishes are perfect for different meals such as salads, and they are easy to grow.  You can sow them directly into the ground or grow them in containers during the summertime. It is a quick growing vegetable, and it is low maintenance. Radishes are the perfect example of low effort and high yield in the veggie world.

DealDash Presents 3 Fun Vacations for Families

DealDash

If you’re having a hard time figuring out where to go on a family vacation, no problem. Read this article for suggestions from DealDash.

In life, we are always on the go. Between going to work and dropping off your kids at school, it can be hard to spend time with your family. Once in a while, it is good to take a family vacation. If you have kids they may not always be receptive to going on a vacation. That is why when you are planning a family vacation you have to keep your children in mind. Here are three fun vacation spots for kids, from DealDash.

Winter Haven, Florida

Florida has to be one of the most exciting vacation spots to go to. There are a lot of Florida vacation spots, but few are suitable for kids, other than the ultra-popular (and ultra-packed and expensive) ones. Winter Haven is child-friendly because of their wonderful attraction called Lego Land. Lego Land is a water and theme park. There are rides, roller coasters, and other kid-friendly activities that will keep your kids occupied. Lego Land also has plenty of rides and spots that will keep you cool from the Florida heat. Legoland is a great option for your kids.

Anaheim, California

Anaheim California is a beautiful place to go to for vacation.  The biggest attraction for kids in Anaheim is Disneyland. There are rides for everyone, tasty foods, and you can meet Disney Characters. You can also go to adventure city in Anaheim if you are looking for something smaller.

Anaheim has excellent weather, year-round. If you’re looking for a place that’s just as beautiful in February as it is in June, then check out Anaheim. There are many popular beaches that are close to Anaheim that you might want to check out such as Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, and Seal Beach. If your kids love to go to the beach, then Anaheim might just be the vacation spot for your family.

Washington, D.C.

Washington D.C. is the perfect vacation spot for kids.  It has plenty of events and attractions that are free. You can go to museums such as the Smithsonian, and you can see historical landmarks. If you want to do a little shopping, Washington D.C. has the best malls with plenty of toy stores. Your kids will enjoy Washington D.C and they will have plenty to explore.

Washington, D.C. is full of education and history, but also full of fun and excitement for kids as well. As a child, my elementary school would always take field trips to Washington, D.C., and my two favorites were the National Zoo and the Air and Space Museum. If you go to Washington, D.C., be sure to check them out!

Thanks for Reading

Choosing a vacation spot for your kids does not have to be hard. These tips will help you choose the right spot, so your kids will have a memorable time. So when you are considering where you would like to go on your next family vacation, be sure to check out some of these ideas from DealDash.

DealDash

Have a little extra time? Why not try volunteering? Here are some tips to get started, from DealDash.

Everyone needs a helping hand once in awhile. There are so many nonprofit organizations that need a lot of volunteers every year. You may not get paid to volunteer, but it is beneficial for your mental and physical health.  Giving a helping hand can make you feel good about yourself knowing that you can make a difference. Some people may be unsure if volunteering is right for them. Here are 3 benefits of volunteering, from DealDash.

1 – You Make Connections

A lot of people feel lonely from time to time. Volunteering will help you get out of your comfort zone and meet new people. You will feel good about yourself knowing that you are a part of a community. Working together with other people to help improve someone’s life will help make volunteering more fun, and worthwhile.

2 – Good Health

Volunteering can cause you to have good health. Most volunteer work involves a lot of physical projects such as moving and carrying boxes. In some volunteer jobs, you are mostly on your feet for a long time, or you are solving issues for a nonprofit organization. Volunteering will improve your health by keeping you moving.

If you love to exercise and also love pets, why not volunteer at an animal shelter? Many animal shelters would love to have more volunteers to come walk the dogs so they can get more exercise. It would be great for you and the pups!

Better Jobs

One of the best benefits of volunteering is that you get work experience. You can volunteer for a future job that you would want to get. Gaining work experience through volunteering will help you get hired quicker, and easier.  It will also look good on your resume and college applications.

As an added benefit, if you are volunteering in a sector that you are interested in working in, you will meet valuable contacts. Many places need volunteers, so if you are looking for a job in a certain sector, see if they need any volunteers. You might just volunteer yourself into a job!

Thanks for Reading

Volunteering can be a rewarding experience. These three benefits will help you decide if volunteering is right for you. You can find volunteer jobs by doing a Google search on volunteer jobs around your area. Feeling Exhausted? Let DealDash Help

DealDash

If you’re feeling exhausted you need to read this helpful article from DealDash.

Many people often go through the day wondering where all their energy has gone. They really have no clue that common things that they do often are actually sapping their energy. Here are some very simple reasons as to why you might be exhausted, from DealDash.

Lack of Sleep / Oversleeping

Lack of sleep as well as oversleeping can have you not feeling your best. If you are not getting enough sleep you will be feeling tired. The same could be said for oversleeping as it can also not have you feeling in tip-top shape. You need to find a good balance when it comes to sleeping. This is so that you can wake up feeling refreshed and not tired. You will also be doing great things for your health. If you have sleep issues you will be putting yourself at risk for a wide variety of health issues.

Too Many Electronics Before Bed

Electronic devices like cell phones and laptops can also do a number on how you are feeling. You can really have a lot of issues like sleep disturbance if you are too into your devices. You need to again learn a healthy balance when it comes to using your devices, especially before bed. It’s important to know how long is healthy to use them and when you should shut them off.

Learning to spend time doing other things that do not involve a device is very healthy, especially in the hour before bed. If you must use your devices right before bed, be sure to get an app that blocks the blue light coming from the screen. This blue light can help keep you awake.

Cut Down on Drinking

Drinking alcohol is another thing that will have you feeling exhausted if you over-indulge. Consuming alcoholic drinks can have you not wanting to do anything in particular which can leave you exhausted. You should avoid consuming these types of drinks and if you do use them only in moderation. This way you will be feeling your best as often as possible. Another great thing about cutting down on alcohol is that you can replace it with water. And the more water you drink, the better you will feel.

Thanks for Reading

Keep these things in mind the next time that you are trying to figure out what is causing your exhaustion. These things just may be the cause of your being exhausted. Try these tips and you’ll be feeling more energetic in no time!

DealDash Must Read Road Trip Tips

DealDash

Yesterday we talked about preparing for a flight. Today we talk about going on a road trip! Read on for more information from DealDash.

Roads trips are a great way to see the world. There is nothing like riding across the country and discovering new places. Going on a road trip is an awesome way to spend time with your family or friends. It is important to be prepared when you are on a road trip. Here are some tips that will help you prepare for a road trip, from DealDash.

Figure Out an Estimated Route

When you’re going on a road trip, it is important to have a sense of where you are going. You should check the mileage, so you can be aware of how much time you can drive per day. You can buy a map or use MapQuest or Google Maps to track your route.  Do not become exhausted by traveling ten hours a day. Make sure you have an estimated route set in place, so you can enjoy your trip.

If you are on a leisurely road trip, take a look at your route and choose some fun places along the way that you want to stop. Some people might want to see the world’s largest ball of twine, and other people might like to stop by an outlet mall and do some shopping, or even an amusement park. It’s up to you and whoever you are riding with. Remember to be nice and take turns deciding where to stop.

Plan Some Meals

When you are on a road trip, you will undoubtedly become very hungry. It is important to have meals and snacks prepared. Since you cannot heat up your food, it is best to pack certain meals such as sandwiches, granola bars, and chips. It is imperative to find some restaurants along the way, so you can try new foods. You can use websites like Yelp to discover new places to eat on your trip. As with where you want to stop for activities, be sure to take turns with your traveling companions to choose where to eat.

Make Reservations

It is fun to just drive around and find a hotel randomly, but you won’t get the cheapest price if you are not prepared ahead of time. You should think about planning at least two nights ahead if you don’t want to be at one set location. Making reservations ahead of time will help make it easier to prepare for your road trip.

Don’t Forget Your Luggage

If you need luggage, laptop bags, or toiletry bags DealDash has you covered. You might not need as much luggage as if you’re going on a flight, but you will definitely need a few changes of clothes! DealDash stocks all of these items as well as purses, carry on bags, duffle bags, backpacks, and more. If you are planning on buying a new bag, check DealDash first, before you leave on your road trip.

DealDash Prepares for a Flight

DealDash

No matter if you love or hate flying, most of us have to sometimes. Here are some tips from DealDash to prepare for your next flight.

Going on a vacation or a business trip can be a very exciting (and sometimes stressful) experience, especially if you are flying. Going on a flight can be scary at first especially if this is your first time taking an airplane. You have to be prepared for a flight because you will be far away from home. Some people don’t know what to bring on a flight or how to prepare for one. Here are 3 tips to help you prepare for a flight, from DealDash.

1 – Figure Out the Rules

No airline is exactly the same. There are different rules and regulations that you have to follow depending on the type of airline you choose. Make sure that you have a clear understanding of what you can bring aboard. It is important to make sure that you carry all liquids in a carry-on.

If you have an item in your carry on that is not allowed on the plane, you have to put it in your luggage. If you don’t follow these rules you might have to throw away your liquids. In the case of items not allowed on the plane such as a pocketknife or scissors, you might have to either throw them away or mail them back to yourself at your own expense.

3 – Make Sure You Have Everything

When you go on a flight you can’t run back home and get the things that you have forgotten. You have to make sure that you have everything that you need before you board your flight. Make sure that you have your necessities such as underwear, jackets, and feminine products if you are a woman, and all of the toiletries that you need.

Depending on where you are traveling to, sometimes it makes sense to buy some of these items when you arrive instead of bringing them with you on the plane. Of course, if you are going somewhere that you are unfamiliar with, then it’s better safe than sorry – bring everything that you think that you might need with you on the plane.

If you need luggage, carry on bags, or toiletry bags DealDash has you covered. They stock all of these items as well as purses, laptop bags, duffle bags, backpacks, and more. If you are planning on buying a new bag, check DealDash first.

3 – Arrive on Time

When you are taking a flight, it is important to be there on time, so you won’t miss your flight. You should arrive at least two hours early. This will give you time to call a cab if you have to, and get through traffic. Arriving early is also important just in case any emergencies may come up. Yes, it might be boring to sit around in an airport if you arrive too early. However, that is better than the alternative of being late and missing your flight.

Thanks for Reading

These are really just a few of the things that you should do to prepare for your flight. Preparing for a flight can be a stressful situation. These tips will help you have a smooth and easy flight to your destination.

Ask your child that they want to do for their party as far as activities go.  They are likely going to give you plenty of ideas. If you have a tight budget you can simply select the cheapest ideas and go from there. This way you can keep the kids busy during the party without having to worry about ruining your budget. DealDash Helps Prepare for a Power Outage

DealDash

With many parts of the country coming into a rainy season soon it’s important to be prepared. Here are some tips from DealDash to deal with a power outage.

There are times when natural disasters are going happen, and sometimes bad weather may cause your power to go out. When the power goes out it can be a very stressful time. So many people are used to things such as the internet, frozen foods, and everything that you need power for. There are some ways to prepare for a power outage that you should know about. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Have a Plan

Sometimes you will know when a power outage is going to happen. However, at other times you may be clueless to the whims of the weather. Before you lose power you should create a plan with your family.  You should give each of your family members instructions on what to do such as who gets the flashlights and batteries. When you have a plan in action you will be well prepared. Remember, even the youngest members of your family will want to be prepared and know what will happen if the power goes out.

Have the Necessary Supplies

You need certain supplies when the power is going to go out. It is best to have canned foods, plenty of water, flashlights, and batteries. Before the power goes out you have to make sure that your phone is completely charged so you can get emergency and weather alerts.

Some people might think that this is going overboard, but if you live in a region where the power goes out frequently you might consider investing in a flashlight/lantern/radio combo that can be electrically charged, manually cranked, or charged by a solar panel. Personally, I have one of these items and have gotten other ones for relatives as gifts. They don’t seem very useful until you really need them, but then they are a very handy thing to have.

Purchase a Generator

One of the smartest ways to prepare for a power outage is to purchase an at-home generator. It can be hard to choose the right generator so you should ask a trained electrician. They can give you advice and install the generator. It is important to have carbon monoxide alarms when you have a generator so make sure you also get those alarms installed. If you live in certain parts of the country such as the South East or Gulf Coast, then having a generator is a must.

DealDash Tips to Prepare an Engagement Party

DealDash

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! Here are some tips from DealDash for a memorable engagement party.

Getting engaged is an exciting experience. Your loved one has finally popped the question, and now it is time to celebrate. Throwing an engagement party to celebrate this big moment in your life is the best way to create memories. Everyone waits for that special time in their life when they are proposed to. Here are some tips to prepare for a memorable engagement party, from DealDash.

Figure out who is Hosting the Party

Usually the parents are the ones who host an engagement party but those rules are not set in stone. Almost anyone can plan and throw you an engagement party. Some suggestions are your friends, co-workers, or family. You don’t have to have a big crowd, but figuring out who is hosting the party will make the planning go smoothly.

Sometimes it’s better if a small group of people work together to throw you your party. If you have a couple of sisters and/or close female cousins you might want to choose them. Alternately, the siblings of the bride and the groom might like to work together to throw this party so they can get to know each other better. There’s really no wrong answer.

Invite People

The next step is to create a guest list and send invitations to them. It is best for you and your partner to make a list of who you want to invite. Once you have the list it is time to send invitations. You can choose to send fancy invitations or casual invitations. It depends on how much time you have before your party starts. You can make your invitations or you can send an e-invite. Many people nowadays prefer an e-invite because once they RSVP they can choose to have the e-invite log it into their online calendar.

Choose the location

Engagement parties can be big or small. You can have a low-key option such as having your engagement party at your parent’s house, or in the backyard. If you want to be a little fancier you can rent a private room for a dinner party. If you have many guests coming you can always rent a function room at a hotel, or even at a VFW hall.

Thanks for Reading

Preparing for an engagement party can seem stressful. These tips will help make the process much easier so you can have a good time with your friends and family. Remember to cherish this special moment of your engagement by throwing a memorable party that no one will forget.

DealDash Helps: Ace Your Exam

DealDash

Are there any adult learners out there? College as an adult can be tough. Here are some tips from DealDash to help you ace your next exam.

Studying for an exam is one of the most stressful things students have to do. This is especially true if you are an adult and are juggling school, your family, and a job all at the same time. It is easy to become stressed out because you have to remember everything that you have learned. Taking an exam may seem hard, but with the right strategy and focus you can pass an exam. There are 3 ways to prepare for a test, courtesy of DealDash.

Study on a Schedule

You have to come up with a study schedule in order to pass your exam. It is important to be familiar with the exam materials. Make sure you study your exam material in advance so your brain will have time to soak it all in. You should come up with a schedule and a specific time to study for your test.  It is best to write your schedule on a calendar or in a planner to stay organized. If you have kids at home you will probably have to do this after they go to bed. Try to make a habit of getting your study time in every night.

Set Up Study Goals

It is important to set up specific study goals so you can properly organize your study time. Once you figure out your goals, you can see what you need to accomplish and focus on the important things that you need to study first. It is very important to take a study break so you will not get overwhelmed by the material. Bring a little snack with you to your study area so you can take a break halfway through to re-energize you.

Review the Material

Once you finish studying you should quiz yourself on what you have learned. You can create a set of questions or use flashcards to make sure that you have a complete understanding of the material. You can also create a study group or ask a friend or family member to help you. If you have older kids who can read you can help each other study.

Thanks for Reading

Taking an exam may be a little scary, but with the right amount of preparation and studying for a test it will not be as hard as you think. These tips will help you stay focused and will keep you on track so you can be sure that you ace your exam.

DealDash Prepares for a Trip

DealDash

Spring will be here before you know it. Here are some tips to prepare for a trip, from DealDash.

Going on a trip is a lot of fun. Many people like to go on adventures and discover new places. Also, some people have family members that they like to visit. Regardless of your reason for going on trips, you have to be prepared. When you go on a trip you can’t just run home and get something you forgot. There are some tips that can help you prepare for your trip, from DealDash.

Have Someone Watch Your House

When you are gone for longer than a long weekend it is important for someone to watch your house. You need someone that will take care of your mail, feed your plants, any other needs that you may have for your house. You can choose a family member or a friend that you trust to watch your house for you. When you know that your house is in good hands, you will be more relaxed on your trip. If you don’t have someone that is willing to do that for you, then you can outsource it and hire someone. Be sure that you check their reviews carefully. Make sure that you find out if they have insurance.

Schedule your Flight

The most important step is to make sure that you schedule your flight, and find out information about where you are going. You should know where you will be staying and what the weather is like so you can pack the appropriate clothing. If you are going by car it is important to have your car filled with gas and ready to go. If you plan on renting a car when you get to your destination be sure to reserve one online first, as well as any baby seats or booster seats that you might need.

Pack Your Suitcase

People are known to get carried away with packing (I’m one of them). You want to carry everything, but you should only pack the necessary items that you need. The key thing to remember is that less is more when it comes to packing. It is important to pack based on how many days you will be traveling. For example, if it is just for a weekend pack 3 shirts, 3 pants, and undergarments.  Make sure you also have your important things in your carry one such as a charger and a cell phone. If you are flying somewhere for a long weekend, do your best to fit everything into your carry-on luggage and save yourself some baggage fees.

DealDash Cleans: Your Bedroom

DealDash

Cleaning your bedroom can be a chore, but DealDash is here to help!

You go into your room, and you realize it is messy, and you begin to panic. Cleaning your room can be a daunting task, but it has to be done. It may seem overwhelming when you see clothes lying everywhere and trash piling up, but there are three ways to make cleaning your room less painful. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Play Some Music

If you want to lift your mood and get going, you should play some upbeat music. You can use a stereo or an online streaming website such as YouTube, Spotify, and Pandora. Playing music while you clean your room is a good way to distract yourself and make the time go by faster. Make sure the music will make you want to bust a move and sing. If you have some favorite songs that you know will make you feel cheered up and ready to get cleaning, why not make a cleaning playlist?

Start with the Small Stuff

It is best to start with the less messy areas. You can start with your clothes by throwing the dirty ones in the hamper or dump the trash into the dumpster. You can also vacuum your room pretty quickly and make your bed. Starting small will make the process seem less overwhelming. Make sure you eventually work your way up to the more messy parts of your room. This way you can get some momentum going that will keep you going through the harder parts of cleaning, such as your windows.

Let a Little Light In

Letting some light in will give you a burst of energy. You can open the blinds or open a curtain to let natural light come in. This will also allow you to see what you are doing. Opening the windows will make a big difference in your energy level when you are cleaning your room. A little sunshine makes everything better, and that is especially true when you’re trying to clean up your bedroom.

Thanks for Reading

Cleaning your room does not have to be painful. These tips will help make the process more fun and enjoyable. You can even make cleaning your room a game or challenge yourself to see how quickly you can get the job done. Make sure you clean your room in an organized way. When your room is clean your space will feel less cluttered, and you will be able to find anything in your room easily.

DealDash Plans a Baby Shower

DealDash Baby showers are fun but they can be a lot of work. Let DealDash help you plan the party.

Throwing a baby shower is one of the most exciting events that you can plan. Baby showers are typically thrown by family members, friends, or even the mommy-to-be’s spouse. Although baby showers are a lot of fun, you should always make sure that you are prepared for a baby shower. There are some things that you should do to prepare for the big day, from DealDash.

Choose a Date and Time

It is important to figure out the date and time of when you are going to have the party. Make sure that you coordinate the time with the availability of the mother-to-be. Most baby showers are thrown when the mommy-to-be is around seven months pregnant. It is not a rule that is set in stone, but if you want to keep the tradition, seven months is the perfect time to have a baby shower. If you or the mom-to-be is superstitious, though, you could throw a “meet the baby” party instead when the baby is a few weeks old.

Choose a location

You need to determine your budget for the baby shower before you choose the location. Once you figure out a budget, you need to decide where you are going to have the baby shower. You can rent out a venue, or you can have the baby shower in the backyard or living room. You will save a lot of money by having the baby shower at your house. Another suggestion might be to have the shower at a restaurant that has a function room. Many places won’t charge you for use of the function room if you are planning on purchasing food from the restaurant for the party.

Send the Invitations

You want to make sure that you send invitations to your guests so that they can save the date and clear their schedule. There are a lot of ways that you can send invitations such as in the mail or email. You can make personalize invitations from online stores such as Zazzle, or you can purchase an invitation in the store. Regardless of how you choose to send an invitation, it is important to send the invitations early.

Thanks for Reading

Planning a baby shower is a lot of fun. The mom-to-be will feel special and excited to have the baby. These tips will help you throw the perfect baby shower that everyone will be talking about. Keep this article in mind if you ever need to throw a baby shower in a hurry.

DealDash Helps Your White Shoes Sparkle

DealDash

Keep those white shoes clean and sparkling. Let DealDash show you how.

Wearing shoes is a necessity. Many people like to wear different types of shoes, especially white shoes in the summer. When white shoes are clean, they often look very nice, but they can easily get dirty. You have to make sure that you keep your white shoes clean so they can remain stylish and white. White shoes are easy to clean. Here are 3 steps to clean white shoes, from DealDash.

Use Warm Water

You should fill a basin with some warm water to clean your shoes. Warm water will put less pressure on the color of your white shoes. It is important to use warm water, but you have to make sure that it is not too hot. You don’t want to burn your hands. Also be sure that the basin or wash tub is big enough to have enough water to clean the shoes. You don’t want to stop halfway through. You probably don’t want to use your sink for this.

Use Soap to Clean the Shoes

The next step is to get the dirt off of your shoes. Take a cloth and dip it into the water and add some soap. Rub the parts of the cloth that is soapy all over the white shoe. You don’t have to use any fancy soap. Dishwashing liquid or laundry detergent can easily make a lather and is perfect for cleaning shoes. Personally, I prefer the classic Dawn liquid dish soap, but choose one that you like and enjoy the scent.

Use a Brush

Using just soap is not always going to remove all of the stains on your white shoes. It is best to use a stiff bristle brush to scrub off the stains. You need to focus on the area of the stains that need to be removed. If you are not getting all of the stains off of your shoes, you can use a magic eraser or even toothpaste. The magic eraser is just perfect for the rubber parts of your white shoes. Give it a try!

Thanks for Reading

Cleaning your shoes can be a boring task, but if you want to keep them stylish, you have to clean them on a regular basis. It is important to rinse and dry the shoes after you are done cleaning them. Remember to let them dry and remove the shoelaces so that you can wash them in the dryer. These tips will help you keep your shoes clean so that you can keep your white shoes spotless.

I hope that this article has given you some good tips to get your white shoes clean. Thanks for reading the newest blog article. DealDash Helps: Volunteering Made Easy

DealDash

Have an urge to volunteer? Follow these easy tips from DealDash to get started.

Many people are interested in volunteering but aren’t exactly sure how to get started. Volunteering is a wonderful thing to do, it helps both your community and yourself at the same time. You always feel amazing after time spent helping others. Read on below for more information from DealDash.

Figure Out Where

Firstly, you’ll want to figure out where you want to volunteer. There are so many places right in your own community that would welcome your help. If you’re having trouble thinking of somewhere, here is a quick list of places you might want to consider:

  • An animal shelter
  • Your child’s school or PTA
  • A homeless shelter
  • A thrift/secondhand store (many benefit a cause, my local one donates to the animal shelter)
  • Your local park or nature preserve
  • A hospital

When Are You Available?

Next, you’ll want to figure out when you have time to volunteer. Can you only come sporadically or can you come weekly? Do you need a set or flexible schedule? Do you have the necessary criteria to volunteer? Some places, such as schools, will need you to have a CORI background check before you volunteer. Other places, such as the thrift store, do not have any such requirements.

After you have figured out when you have time to volunteer, see if the times you have available match up to the times at the place that you most want to volunteer. You might have to go through a few choices before you make a match.

For example, the place that I most wanted to volunteer was the NICU unit. They needed people to rock babies when the parents weren’t able to be there. Unfortunately, they required a commitment of 2 days per week for 6 months, which I just didn’t think that I could meet. Instead, I ended up volunteering at the library at my children’s school. The schedule is much more flexible and works with my lifestyle.

Sign Up, Show Up, and Feel Good

Finally, it’s time to make your choice and sign up as a volunteer. After you have made the big step in signing up, be sure that you show up at your assigned times. Trust me, after you have spent a session volunteering and helping others you will have a sunny new outlook on life. It feels good to help other people.

DealDash’s Tips to Get the Job

DealDash Have a job interview on the horizon? Read these tips from DealDash and you’ll be ready.

When you are trying to find a job, it can be a daunting task. Not only does it take a while to find a job, and you also have to go through an interview process. Interviews can seem very scary regardless if it is in person or over the phone. You have to be prepared when it comes to interviews if you want the job. Here are 3 tips to help you prepare for an interview, from DealDash.

Learn Information about the Company

You need to know a lot of information about the job that you are applying for. Do some research on their website to find out about their businesses goals, history, and working environment. Researching the company and learning information about their business will show that you are interested in getting the job. However, employers know that their interviewees couldn’t possibly know everything about their company. Don’t be too intimidated to ask questions about the job and company.

Ask Questions

Asking questions in an interview is very important. Most likely they will ask you if you have any questions at the end of the interview. Always be prepared with questions. It is not professional to not have any questions for the interviewer.  Prepare a list of questions beforehand that you have memorized. You can ask about the role expectations, work ethics, or opportunities for growth. Regardless of the questions that you have, it is imperative to have some ready.

Dress Appropriately

The way you dress can make or break your interview. Wearing jeans and a t-shirt is not a professional way to dress for an interview. It doesn’t have to be something super fancy. For men, it can be a nice shirt and slacks, and for women, it can be a nice blouse and a long skirt. You can wear accessories, but it is important to keep them to a minimum. If you need any dress shoes or cufflinks for your interview, DealDash has them. Just check the Fashion, Health, and Beauty category on DealDash.

When in doubt about your outfit, it probably isn’t the right one. Find a friend or family member who has experience in human resources and ask them for their opinion.

Going on an interview is a big step to gaining employment. You may be nervous, but you should be proud that you have made it this far. These tips will help you have a successful interview. Remember to arrive at least 15 minutes early and thank the interviewer for their time. If you follow these tips, you are sure to get the job.

DealDash Health: Clean Your Glasses

DealDash

Cleaning your glasses is an important thing to do if you want to have your optimum vision. Read on for some healthy tips from DealDash.

Many people wear glasses on a day to day basis. Although contacts can be a solution to your vision problems, wearing glasses is still a popular choice. It is important to take care of your glasses so you can keep the lens clean and prevent any eye damage. Here is a step by step way to clean your glasses, from DealDash.

Clean Your Hands

It is important to wash and dry your hands before you clean your glasses. You should make sure that your hands are clean from dirt and grime to prevent germs. Use dishwashing liquid and a towel that does not contain any lint to dry your hands. You can’t clean your glasses with dirty hands if you want to get your glasses as clean as possible.

Rinse Your Glasses

Rinsing your glasses is the next step. It is best to use lukewarm water to get rid of debris and dust. Removing debris and dust will prevent you from scratching your glasses. Never use hot water to rinse your glasses because it can damage your eyeglass lens. Make sure that you do a proper rinse to get all of the grime off.

Use a Dishwashing Liquid

When you clean your glasses, you should use a lotion-free dishwashing liquid on each lens. It is imperative to only use a small amount of the dishwashing liquid.  You can also apply a drop of liquid on your fingertip. Dawn original formula is the perfect dishwashing liquid to use because it does not include lotions. This is the familiar blue liquid that most people have in their homes.

Rinse and Dry

Once you have finished rinsing and cleaning your glasses, the next step is to rinse and dry your lenses thoroughly. It is important to use a lint-free towel. You should use a dish towel that is free from fabric softener to wipe your glasses. Make sure you inspect the lenses again once you rinse and dry the lens to see if you have missed any spots.

Thanks for Reading

It is very easy to clean your glasses, but you have to be careful not to smudge or damage them. You can also use spray eyeglass cleaners if you do not have any dish soap available. If you follow these tips step by step, you should have clean and wearable glasses in no time.

DealDash Prepares for a Winter Storm

DealDash

There have been many winter storms lately. DealDash is here to tell you 3 tips to prepare for a winter storm.

Every year most of us go through different seasons. The weather is always changing. That is why it is good to prepare for any weather, especially snow storms. Depending on where you live, winter storms can be an inconvenience for you. People dread the winter time depending on where you live, but some people enjoy cold weather. Regardless of how you feel about winter storms, you still have to prepare for a winter storm. Yes, even if you live in the south! Read on for more information from DealDash.

Stock Up on Necessary Supplies

It is important to have all of the necessary supplies that you need for a winter storm. You will need winter storm supplies such as batteries in case of a power outage, a shovel to remove the snow, and non-perishable food and water.  When you are prepared with these items it can make going through a winter storm easier.

Personally, since I have a large family, I keep a big stock of pretty much everything on hand in the pantry. Things that keep for quite a while like cereal, soup, crackers, pasta and sauce, bottled water, granola bars, and fruit cups are always fully stocked in my pantry. When there is a winter storm coming and other people run to the grocery store, I know to stay away from the store! No matter how long the storm is, even if the storm and clean-up last a week (which it never does!) I know that my family has plenty of food.

Plan Ahead of Time

Planning ahead of time for a winter storm can protect your house from damage. Simple things such as repairing your roof leaks, cutting away branches that can fall on your house and allow faucets to drip will help keep your home safe.

Planning ahead of time includes getting out all of your snow supplies and have them ready. Have your shovel, gas for your snowblower, salt or sand, and cold weather clothing. Having these things ready can really help when a winter storm is coming.

Stay Warm

The best thing you can do for a winter storm is to stay warm. Invest in a generator if the power goes out. Make sure that you dress in layers. It is also important to stay near your loved ones so you can create body heat. The closer you are the warmer you will stay. Keeping your head warm is important. You can wear a hood or use a scarf or hat to cover your head. Don’t forget the socks and fuzzy slippers! Stay cozy.

Thanks for Reading

Winter storms can be a tough situation to deal with, but if you are prepared you have nothing to worry about. These tips will help you stay warm and safe during the winter.
