DealDash’s Quick Kitchen Cleaning Tips

DealDash

Not many people enjoy cleaning their kitchen. However, it must be done. Here are some quick tips from DealDash to help.

If you have a kitchen, then it needs to be cleaned regularly to keep things safe and more pleasant. Kitchen cleaning doesn’t have to take forever. If you use these quick kitchen cleaning tips from DealDash you will save time and effort. Read on for more information.

Regularly Toss Old Foods

Each week, prior to you traveling to the market, take a quick peek inside your food pantry and your fridge. Toss everything that is past its expiry date, and also things that don’t look or smell fresh. If you’re unsure, toss it out! You might not like the idea of wasting money by tossing out your old food, but you will understand why this is important if you ever accidentally eat spoiled food. If you toss out old food regularly, then it will be a very fast job each week. You might even want to write the expiration dates on the top of the packages in marker when you buy them to make this process go even faster.

Put Away Unneeded Kitchen Items

Even if you have a lot of counter space it seems that there is never enough! If there is not nearly enough counter area in your kitchen, it’s time to put away all unneeded things. Put away things from cooking area counters that are not vital for day-to-day food preparation. Some of these items might be a blender or food processor, hand or stand mixer, juicer, and so on.

This will certainly make the area look even tidier and also larger. Simply putting away these items in a cabinet or in the pantry will provide you with additional space to prepare everyday dishes. I actually just did this yesterday, and even my 10-year-old son commented on how the kitchen looked bigger.

Just 5 Minutes a Day

If you are feeling stressed at the idea of decluttering your cooking area, adhere to one basic guideline, tidy the kitchen for 5 minutes per day. You can simply set your kitchen timer for 5 minutes and see how much you can get done during this time. Some things you should do during this time include clearing up counter tops, disposing of leftovers, and wiping down surfaces will permit you to maintain your cooking area and keep it looking nice. Many times I find that I will continue cleaning beyond the 5-minute timer, but 5 minutes is all that I require of myself.

Recycle Papers Immediately

SInce the kitchen is a common meeting place in the home, cooking areas frequently come to be littered with many things. Lots of these things, such as junk mail and store flyers can be recycled right away. The same goes for flyers from your children’s school, old work papers, and expired coupons. If you are able to recycle all of these papers immediately, you will find yourself with much less cluttered kitchen counters.

DealDash Quick and Easy Home Organization

DealDash

Everyone wants to live in a clean and organized home. Sometimes it can be hard to get started. Here are some tips from DealDash to help you.

Organizing your home can seem like a daunting task. However, is definitely something that you and your family should get on board with doing.  Here are some tips that will help you in getting your home organized, from DealDash.

What are Your Unique Needs?

You want to create a standard of your own as far as what is organized in your home.  Just because a room is completely clean doesn’t mean that it is organized. You need to come up with a standard of organization that works for you and your unique needs. Don’t worry if everything isn’t as perfect as in a magazine. You need to figure out what works best for you and your family.

Strive for “Great” and not “Perfect”

You should certainly strive to not be going for perfection when it comes to having an organized house.  Sure, you may see pictures of houses that look completely organized however this is really not a realistic representation of an organized home.  Just remember that you need to set your standard for organization. Keep in mind that this will be completely different depending on if you have kids or pets, or if you live alone or with another adult. It all just depends on your own personal situation.

Make a Plan

You need to consider grouping like tasks together.  Make a list of the things that you need to do during the day and group other things you can do easily at the same time.  That will make things a lot easier when it comes to keeping your house clean and organized.

Be Proactive

Another thing you’re to keep in mind to keep your house organized is to make sure you are being proactive to reduce the amount of clutter that’s in your home. You want to make sure you’re not just buying something simply to buy it. Make sure that you’re going to use it and love it so that it will not be cluttering up your home.

Thanks for Reading

Organizing your house can seem like a lot of work. However, if you do some planning you’ll see that it will be a much easier task than you first imagined. It is best to also work on getting your family involved as it will be a lot simpler to keep your home organized if everyone pitches in.

DealDash Quick Tips for Allergy Season

DealDash

If you suffer from seasonal allergies there are a few things that you can do to try to ease your sniffles a bit. Here are some helpful tips from DealDash.

More than 50 million Americans suffer from seasonal allergies such as pollen. If you’ve been wondering if there’s anything that you can do to ease your suffering, DealDash has a few tips for you. Read on for some helpful information from DealDash.

Try Saltwater

As with a scratchy throat due to a cold, gargling warm salt water can help for allergies as well. Mix up a spoonful of regular table salt with a cup of warm water. Gargle with this twice per day while you are suffering from allergies. It can help ease your dry, scratchy throat.

Don’t Bring the Outside In

I have never been a fan of keeping my shoes on inside. I always make my family take them off right at the front door. If you’re suffering from seasonal allergies, then it’s important that you get into this habit as well. Pollen and other allergens can cling to your shoes as you’re walking around outside and you can bring them in and scatter them throughout your house by just walking around.

Shower the Pollen Away

When the pollen counts are high for the day, it’s important to take a shower in the evening before you get into bed. Even if you change into pajamas and fresh socks, there is still pollen clinging to your hair and skin that you can transfer to your bed.

Keep it Clean

If you are suffering from seasonal allergies you need to make sure that you do some extra cleaning around the house. No matter how careful you are about taking off your shoes and showering at night, you’re going to get some pollen in your house. Doing some extra dusting, vacuuming, and mopping is important if you’re suffering from seasonal allergies.

Thanks for Reading

I hope that reading this article has given you a few good ideas on how to improve your life with seasonal allergies. Follow these tips and you’ll be having a much better time this allergy season. Here’s to feeling better soon!

DealDash Keeps Your Kitchen Organized

DealDash

You don’t have to be a gourmet chef to want an organized kitchen. Here are some tips from DealDash to help.

With the kitchen being one of the busiest rooms in the house it takes more than simply putting things in the right place to keep things organized. You also need to think of things like meal planning and grocery shopping to keep things moving smoothly. Here are some tips to create a more organized kitchen in your home, from DealDash.

Plan Your Meals

Take some time to plan meals. While this can seem like a time-consuming task it will actually end up saving you a lot of time. You will know exactly what you have for dinner and what you need to prepare it. This is so you do not have to spend more time in the kitchen than you really have to when preparing a meal. It can also help speed up the grocery buying process as well.

Grocery Shopping

This leads us to grocery shopping. Plan your shopping times in advance so you know that you will have the items that you need to prepare the meals that you want to serve when you want to serve them. This really goes hand in hand with meal planning so be sure to take advantage of doing both of them. This will help keep your kitchen organized because you won’t be buying lots of excess items to fill your kitchen and pantry.

Prep in Advance

Make sure when you are preparing your food to do all of the needed prep work in advance. Take the time to preheat the oven, chop vegetables, and do anything else ahead of time that you can.  This will help you spend much less time in the kitchen than trying to do everything all at once. This will also cut down on the mess and chaos in your kitchen. Prepping in advance and cleaning up after each step will help keep your kitchen organized.

Clean Up After Yourself

As I mentioned above, be sure to clean up your messes in the kitchen as soon as possible. This again will help to limit your time in the kitchen and is also a great safety precaution as you do not want anyone to get hurt on someone’s mess. Cleaning up thoroughly can help prevent slip and fall accidents.

Thanks for Reading

These are just a few tips to help organize your kitchen. If you take the time to do things like meal plan and do prep work in advance you will love how much more organized your kitchen will become.

DealDash Cleans a Flat Screen TV

Samsung 55-inch Class Curved 4K (2160P) Smart LED TV

It’s time to clean your flat screen TV. Here are some tips and tricks from DealDash.

We all watch TV at one time or another.  Most people don’t know that it is important to keep your flat screen TV clean.  LCD and Plasma flat screen TVs have to be cleaned more often than regular glass TV screens.  Here are some ways to clean your flat screen TV, from DealDash.

Turn the TV off

The first thing that you want to do is turn the TV off.  Pixels can be interfered with when you leave the TV on while cleaning.  Turning off the TV will also help you see more dust and dirt clearly since the TV screen will be dark. Also, if you leave the TV on while cleaning it you might get distracted and do a poor job.

Use a Microfiber Cloth

You should not just use any old cloth to clean your TV screen. It is best to use a microfiber cloth.  These dry and soft cloths are used to also clean glasses.  They are good for plasma and LCD screens because they don’t leave any lint behind. If you don’t have a microfiber cloth handy, any soft cloth will do. I like to use a washcloth made from bamboo fiber to clean mine.

Wipe the Screen

After you have the cloth you should simply wipe your screen.  You should gently wipe off any grime and dirt.  It is important to not press hard on the screen if the dirt is not coming off, you should just move on to the next part of the screen.  Never use paper towels or toilet paper to clean off your flat screen TV. This may scratch the screen and leave streaks.  It is also important to also clean the frame.

Adding some vinegar and water can also help clean the screen easier.  Vinegar is a detergent that you can use to clean almost anything, and it is perfect for flat screen TVs. However, you only need to use a very small amount on the cloth – do not spray it directly onto the TV.

Is Your TV Old and Scratched?

If your TV is old, scratched, and in poor condition, it’s time to buy a new one. DealDash has auctions for TVs fairly often. There are different sizes and brands to choose from. Simply browse the Electronics and Computers category on DealDash and I’m sure that you’ll find one that you like. Check them out!

Thanks for Reading

Cleaning your flat screen TV may seem like a boring chore, but with these tips, it will make the process much smoother. Make sure to wipe the TV dry when you are done. Following these tips will help make your cleaning efforts effective.

DealDash Cleans: Your Dishwasher

DealDash

The dishwasher is one of my most used appliances. Here are some tips from DealDash to help clean your dishwasher.

Washing dishes is a chore that most people try to avoid. This is because it can be time-consuming and rather boring. Luckily there are appliances like dishwashers that can clean your dishes for you. Although a dishwasher can keep your dishes clean, it is important to maintain the cleanliness of your dishwasher. Cleaning your dishwasher is not a difficult process. Here are 3 tips to easily clean your dishwasher, from DealDash.

1 – Take a Look at the Drain

To begin with, the first step you should take is to look at the drain. You need to examine it for any scratches or damages. Food such as bones from fish, crab shells, and even glass can get caught up in the dishwasher drain. To examine your drain, all you have to do is pull out the drain from the bottom rack. Also, make sure you remove any glass or food that has gotten caught up in the drain. If you have things clogging your drain your dishes aren’t getting as clean as they should be.

2 – Use Vinegar

Next, vinegar can be used for multiple cleaning purposes, especially when it comes to cleaning dishwashers. All you have to do is put some vinegar in a dishwasher cup, and then place it on the top of the rack. The vinegar will sanitize and get rid of any grease that comes off of the dishes. Vinegar is one of my favorite cleaning agents since it’s completely safe and non-toxic for your family.

3 – Use Baking Soda

Lastly, almost everyone has baking soda in their house. Not only is it good for cooking, but it is also good for cleaning your dishwasher. You should use the baking soda after you finish using the vinegar. Also, remember to use a cup of baking soda and then sprinkle it on the bottom. Leave it overnight and then give it a scrub in the morning. Using baking soda will remove stains and will get rid of unwanted smells.

Thanks for Reading

Finally, cleaning your dishwasher does not have to be a chore that you do not enjoy. These tips will help you keep your dishwasher clean and free from dirt. If you follow these steps you will no longer have to worry about doing the dishes yourself ever again.

DealDash Cleans Your Windows – 3 Tips

DealDash cleans windows

Spring cleaning is right around the corner. Here are some tips for cleaning your windows from DealDash.

Everyone likes to keep their house clean especially their windows. It is not attractive to have dirty windows when you look outside or when people drive by your house. It is easy for a window to get dirty because of fingerprints and dirt. This is especially true if you have pets or children. Some people think that it is hard to keep their windows clean, but here are 3 tips that can help you, from DealDash.

1 – Gather the Necessary tools

The first step is to gather the necessary tools to clean your windows. There are a few basic tools that you will need to clean your windows such as a sponge, squeegee, rag, a towel, and a bucket to put the cleaning solution in. Once you gather these materials you are ready to make your cleaning solution. Don’t worry, it won’t be as difficult as it sounds!

2 – Make a Cleaning Solution

The most important step is to make a cleaning solution. Some people recommended other types of solutions but using water and dishwashing liquid can be good enough. Remember to not use your average spray bottle and paper towels because that can leave your windows streaky.

You can also add some alcohol and/or vinegar to the cleaning solution to make it even more effective. If you have kids or pets I recommend using white vinegar only, and no alcohol. Both can clean windows and kill germs, but the vinegar is safe in case someone accidentally ingests some.

3 – Clean Your Windows

You can use a variety of cleaning tools to clean your windows. If you have a window with small panes, you should use a sponge, and for larger window panes you should use a squeegee. Remember to ring out all of the excess water before you begin to wash your window. After you finish one window it is important to dry it before you move to the next one. You can use a lint-free towel or even some newspaper!

Thanks for Reading

Cleaning your windows is not as hard as it sounds. Remember to clean your windows on a regular basis because they can easily become dirty. These 3 steps will help keep your windows clean and presentable.

DealDash Cleans: Your Mattress

Cleaning your mattress doesn’t have to be a pain. Here are some tips from DealDash to help you out.

A mattress is something that we all need. We cannot have a good night’s sleep if we do not have a sturdy mattress. It is important to keep your mattress clean because dirt, sweat, linen and dead skin cells can irritate your skin and is really kind of gross! Luckily there are some easy ways to clean your mattress, from DealDash.

Vacuum It!

Firstly, when you think of cleaning your mattress, you do not automatically think of vacuuming. All you have to do is remove the cover off of your mattress and begin vacuuming. This will remove all those food crumbs from watching movies on your bed, and the dust that has built up over time. Also, vacuuming your mattress will make the cleaning process much easier and you won’t have to worry about any more dirt building up.

Clean Your Mattress

Next, there are many different cleaning products that you can use to clean your mattress. It all depends on what types of stains that you have. For most stains, you can use hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and dishwashing liquid. Finally, mix the concoction into a spray bottle and clean the area that is stained. After you have sprayed on the solution, let it sit for a few minutes. Finish up by wiping it down with a wet sponge.

In addition, if you have animals or children, the sad fact is that you might have had vomit on your bed at one point or another. Furthermore, the best cleaning fluid to clean vomit, blood, and other natural stains is called Nature’s Miracle. You can get it at the pet store and/or most big box stores that have a pet section.

Air Out and Protect Your Mattress

Finally, after you have removed all of the stains and dirt, it is time to let it air dry. It is best to put your mattress outside, and let the sun eliminate the bacteria. Also, once it is air dried you should use a mattress cover if you don’t already have one.  In addition, a mattress cover will help eliminate dirt and stains and can be easily washed.

Luckily, mattress covers are not that expensive at your local big box store. They have them for all sizes of beds from Twin to King. Once you have added a mattress protector to your bed the next time you clean your mattress it will be much easier.

Thanks for Reading

Cleaning your mattress may seem like a chore, but it is good to do to keep the germs and the dust mites away. These tips will easily help you clean your mattress the right way. Also, remember to always clean your mattress on a consistent basis, so your mattress can stay clean and sanitary. You’ll sleep better and feel better in the morning knowing that you’re sleeping on a clean mattress.

Personally, I have 2 vacuums. I have a strong and powerful full-sized Dyson for the weekly vacuuming. For the daily vacuuming, I use a Dyson stick vacuum. It’s cordless, so it’s very easy to just pull out for a quick once-over of the flooring. You can rent a carpet shampooer at any grocery store.

Shampooing your carpet should be done yearly, or bi-annually if you get a lot of foot traffic through your home or live with messy children who spill things on the carpet. Of course, a better solution is to not let any children have food anywhere except for the kitchen or dining room.

Be More Careful

The best way to keep your carpet clean is to be more cautious about making a mess. Try to drink out of a water bottle or a soda can to prevent spills. Remove your shoes before you walk on the carpet to prevent dirt. If you like the feel and support of shoes, then buy an inexpensive pair of shoes to wear only at home. If you do have a spill, it is important to clean it as soon as possible and use anti-staining products.

DealDash Cleans: Your Bedroom

DealDash

Cleaning your bedroom can be a chore, but DealDash is here to help!

You go into your room, and you realize it is messy, and you begin to panic. Cleaning your room can be a daunting task, but it has to be done. It may seem overwhelming when you see clothes lying everywhere and trash piling up, but there are three ways to make cleaning your room less painful. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Play Some Music

If you want to lift your mood and get going, you should play some upbeat music. You can use a stereo or an online streaming website such as YouTube, Spotify, and Pandora. Playing music while you clean your room is a good way to distract yourself and make the time go by faster. Make sure the music will make you want to bust a move and sing. If you have some favorite songs that you know will make you feel cheered up and ready to get cleaning, why not make a cleaning playlist?

Start with the Small Stuff

It is best to start with the less messy areas. You can start with your clothes by throwing the dirty ones in the hamper or dump the trash into the dumpster. You can also vacuum your room pretty quickly and make your bed. Starting small will make the process seem less overwhelming. Make sure you eventually work your way up to the more messy parts of your room. This way you can get some momentum going that will keep you going through the harder parts of cleaning, such as your windows.

Let a Little Light In

Letting some light in will give you a burst of energy. You can open the blinds or open a curtain to let natural light come in. This will also allow you to see what you are doing. Opening the windows will make a big difference in your energy level when you are cleaning your room. A little sunshine makes everything better, and that is especially true when you’re trying to clean up your bedroom.

Cleaning your room does not have to be painful. These tips will help make the process more fun and enjoyable. You can even make cleaning your room a game or challenge yourself to see how quickly you can get the job done. Make sure you clean your room in an organized way. DealDash Helps Your White Shoes Sparkle

DealDash

Keep those white shoes clean and sparkling. Let DealDash show you how.

Wearing shoes is a necessity. Many people like to wear different types of shoes, especially white shoes in the summer. When white shoes are clean, they often look very nice, but they can easily get dirty. You have to make sure that you keep your white shoes clean so they can remain stylish and white. White shoes are easy to clean. Here are 3 steps to clean white shoes, from DealDash.

Use Warm Water

You should fill a basin with some warm water to clean your shoes. Warm water will put less pressure on the color of your white shoes. It is important to use warm water, but you have to make sure that it is not too hot. You don’t want to burn your hands. Also be sure that the basin or wash tub is big enough to have enough water to clean the shoes. You don’t want to stop halfway through. You probably don’t want to use your sink for this.

Use Soap to Clean the Shoes

The next step is to get the dirt off of your shoes. Take a cloth and dip it into the water and add some soap. Rub the parts of the cloth that is soapy all over the white shoe. You don’t have to use any fancy soap. Dishwashing liquid or laundry detergent can easily make a lather and is perfect for cleaning shoes. Personally, I prefer the classic Dawn liquid dish soap, but choose one that you like and enjoy the scent.

Use a Brush

Using just soap is not always going to remove all of the stains on your white shoes. It is best to use a stiff bristle brush to scrub off the stains. You need to focus on the area of the stains that need to be removed. If you are not getting all of the stains off of your shoes, you can use a magic eraser or even toothpaste. The magic eraser is just perfect for the rubber parts of your white shoes. Give it a try!

Thanks for Reading

Cleaning your shoes can be a boring task, but if you want to keep them stylish, you have to clean them on a regular basis. It is important to rinse and dry the shoes after you are done cleaning them. Remember to let them dry and remove the shoelaces so that you can wash them in the dryer. These tips will help you keep your shoes clean so that you can keep your white shoes spotless.

DealDash Health: Clean Your Glasses

DealDash

Cleaning your glasses is an important thing to do if you want to have your optimum vision. Read on for some healthy tips from DealDash.

Many people wear glasses on a day to day basis. Although contacts can be a solution to your vision problems, wearing glasses is still a popular choice. It is important to take care of your glasses so you can keep the lens clean and prevent any eye damage. Here is a step by step way to clean your glasses, from DealDash.

Clean Your Hands

It is important to wash and dry your hands before you clean your glasses. You should make sure that your hands are clean from dirt and grime to prevent germs. Use dishwashing liquid and a towel that does not contain any lint to dry your hands. You can’t clean your glasses with dirty hands if you want to get your glasses as clean as possible.

Rinse Your Glasses

Rinsing your glasses is the next step. It is best to use lukewarm water to get rid of debris and dust. Removing debris and dust will prevent you from scratching your glasses. Never use hot water to rinse your glasses because it can damage your eyeglass lens. Make sure that you do a proper rinse to get all of the grime off.

Use a Dishwashing Liquid

When you clean your glasses, you should use a lotion-free dishwashing liquid on each lens. It is imperative to only use a small amount of the dishwashing liquid.  You can also apply a drop of liquid on your fingertip. Dawn original formula is the perfect dishwashing liquid to use because it does not include lotions. This is the familiar blue liquid that most people have in their homes.

Rinse and Dry

Once you have finished rinsing and cleaning your glasses, the next step is to rinse and dry your lenses thoroughly. It is important to use a lint-free towel. You should use a dish towel that is free from fabric softener to wipe your glasses. Make sure you inspect the lenses again once you rinse and dry the lens to see if you have missed any spots.

Thanks for Reading

It is very easy to clean your glasses, but you have to be careful not to smudge or damage them. You can also use spray eyeglass cleaners if you do not have any dish soap available. If you follow these tips step by step, you should have clean and wearable glasses in no time.

Deal Cleans: 3 Fridge Cleaning Tips

If you’re stuck inside due to the weather, then why not get some cleaning done? Here are some tips to clean your fridge, from DealDash.

Keeping your refrigerator clean is very important. Every once in a while it is going to need a good cleaning. The shelves have to be washed because of spills and old food must be thrown out to prevent rotten smells. Although it is not a task that people will enjoy, it has to be done. Here are some tips that will help you clean your refrigerator, from DealDash.

Take Out All of the Food

The first thing you should do is to take out all of your food. You will want to have empty spaces so you can sort out your food. Place your food on a table and begin to separate the good from the bad. Throw out the food that is old and spoiled. Be careful to not keep your food out for too long because some foods have to be refrigerated.

Get Started with the Shelves

First, remove the shelves and drawers from the refrigerator. It is important to take out the shelves and drawers in your refrigerator so it will be easier to wash them.  When you are doing a quick cleaning of your refrigerator, you don’t have to take out your shelves and drawers. However, it will help make the process go faster.

Wash the Drawers and Shelves

You should always clean your drawers and shelves by hand. Using dish soap is perfectly fine. All you have to do is create a lather and get a nice sponge or brush to scrub the shelves and drawers with. If the glass shelves are still cold, you should not wash them with hot water because you can shatter the glass. The best solution is to use cold water or simply set them aside to warm up.

If the stains are really bad, you should then use hot water and ammonia. Make sure that the ammonia is diluted in hot water. After you finishing cleaning make sure your shelves and drawers are completely dry before putting them back into the fridge.

Cleaning out your refrigerator is a task that not many people look forward too. These tips will help make cleaning your refrigerator faster. Remember to put your food back into the refrigerator when you are finished. If you follow these tips, you will have a clean refrigerator that is easy to manage.

DealDash Cleans: Tips for Hardwood Floors

DealDash

Hardwood floors are beautiful when they’re clean. Here are some tips from DealDash to keep them looking great.

Over the years hardwood floors have become more popular then carpet floors. Apartments and homes are now being purchased with hardwood floors. Keeping your hardwood floors clean is very important. You want to make sure that your hardwood floor is shiny and dirt free. Many people don’t know how to clean their hardwood floors the proper way. Here are 3 tips for cleaning hardwood floors, from DealDash.

Make Sure You Vacuum Daily

Vacuuming every day is very important for cleanliness. It helps to get rid of the dirt that comes on the hardwood floors. Sometimes vacuuming can take up a lot of time, so if you don’t have time to vacuum you can use a dust mop to remove the dirt. This will help speed up the process of cleaning your hardwood floor instead of vacuuming. If you would like to vacuum your floors effortlessly, then pick up a robotic vacuum from DealDash. I absolutely love mine and have it programmed to vacuum every morning.

Always Dust

It has been recommended to dust a hardwood floor regularly. It is easy for dust to build up faster on hardwood floors than on a carpet. You should use a mop that has a dusting agent on it or an electrostatic cloth. This can keep things clean between your annual deep cleaning of your hardwood floor. Dusting is such a simple task that you can have your kids or grandkids do it for you. My daughter who is 6 doesn’t mind helping me dust and is very proud of herself when she completes her task.

Make Some Tea

A lot of people don’t know that tea can help keep your hardwood floors clean. All you need is boiling water and two tea bags. Make yourself a cup of tea and then pour it on the hardwood floor. Tea contains tannic acid which helps create a beautiful shiny hardwood floor. Something simple as making a cup of tea will help make a difference in the appearance of your floor. Of course, if you have a lighter wood floor, such as birch wood, then you will want to test and small an inconspicuous area first before you use tea on the entire floor.

Thanks for Reading

Keeping your hardwood floors clean is very important. These tips will help you maintain the cleanliness of your floors. No one likes to come home to a dirty hardwood floor. Impress your guests and your family by maintaining a spick and span hardwood floor.

DealDash Cleans: Get Help Around the House

DealDash

Have you been doing all of the chores around the house? Get some help! Here are some tips from DealDash.

It can be a real struggle to be able to implement regular chores for your kids to do. This being said it should not deter you from doing it. Teaching your kids to make chores a habit can really teach them a variety of good habits for when they get older. Here are some simple tips for getting your child to turn chores into a daily habit, so you can get some help! Read on for more information from DealDash.

Get into a Routine

Firstly, being really consistent is the key to success. You need to make a chore schedule and make sure that your kids stick to it. You can even be a great role model and add yourself to the chore schedule so they can see even you have chores that need to be done each day. Getting your kids into a regular routine will assist you in turning chores into a regular habit. Younger kids, especially, love to help. If you can get them into a routine at an early age it will make your life easier.

Be Age Appropriate

Be sure that you are choosing chores that are appropriate for the age and their ability to do things. You want your child to feel good that they have accomplished their chores for the day so do not give them something that they cannot finish on their own. Be sure to assign them something that they can accomplish easily on their own so they can get the satisfaction of doing their chores all by themselves. Some chores that are good for younger kids are:

  • Wiping down baseboards
  • Sorting clothing into piles
  • Putting clothes into a dresser after they are folded
  • Dusting
  • Making sure pets have water
  • Getting the mail

Don’t Give In…

Do not give in to the feeling that you want to do everything yourself because it seems simpler. You need to teach your kids that they need to do their chores each day and that someone will not come behind them to do it for them. Doing everything yourself will not teach your kids anything about doing chores. If they need help, help them of course. If they can’t get the hang of that particular chore after a week or so, though, you might need to swap it out for a different one until they are a bit older.

Get the Kids into the Chore Habit

Getting started early with doing chores will go even farther in getting your child to adopt them into a habit. Also, they will also have a much simpler time becoming a responsible young person and adult if they learn a good attitude about completing chores at an early age. Also remember, though, don’t be too hard on them if they forget. It takes about a month of doing something consistently to turn it into a habit.

Tips for Home Organization from DealDash

DealDash

Keeping your home organized can be tricky. Follow these tips from DealDash to make it easier.

If you are looking to have a more organized home, especially if you have children, it can seem like a daunting task. The great news is that it doesn’t need to be this way. There are actually many simple tips available that can help you get organized and stay that way. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Baskets A-Plenty

One thing that you can do that will help your home stay more organized is having a basket set aside to put things in. That way you will not have to worry about running around the house looking for items that you need to return to their rightful places. If you put a nice basket into the main common rooms such as the kitchen, family room, etc. it will make things easier to tidy up later on.

Reduce Your Clothing

When it comes to organizing your clothes you need to keep a laundry basket to put dirty clothes in instead of using the floor as your laundry basket. This seems like common sense, but I have seen way too many people skip the basket and throw them directly onto the floor. You should also only keep clothes that you like and donate the rest. If you have a lot of clothes that you do not like wearing you will simply end up with a lot of clutter in your closet. There’s no reason to keep anything that you haven’t worn in the past year unless it’s a special event item such as a gown or a tux to attend weddings.

Organization Needn’t be Expensive

You should remember that you do not need to purchase expensive organizational items to organize your home. There are many things that you can purchase at the discount store that would be perfect for organizational purposes in your home. This will save you a lot of money when it comes to organizing your home. If you’re in the market for baskets, the craft store has a great selection and you can always find a coupon.

File Your Papers

You should also begin a filing system for each piece of paper that you get in your home. This way you will not have to search for an important paper like an electricity bill. This will also keep surfaces clear in your home. You can find a nice rack for this sort of thing at the office supply store.

Thanks for Reading

These are just a few things that you can do in order to get more organization in your home. Try doing little things each day to get your home more organized. You will be able to see a huge improvement in your home. Also, organizing your house doesn’t need to be a great deal of work and with tips like these, you can get your home organized and looking great in no time at all.

Tips for House Cleaning From DealDash

DealDash

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a house cleaner? With these tips from DealDash, you won’t even need one!

Many people are looking for tips to clean their home more efficiently. They want to find the most helpful tips so that they can get their home looking the best that it possibly can. Here are a few tips that can get you started getting your home looking great. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Get Some Help

Firstly, you need to get everyone living in your home to get involved with the house cleaning. You will find that things will go a lot faster if more than one person takes the time to get active with cleaning. If it is left to one person you might find that the housework might get forgotten about. Or worse than that, the person who normally does the housework might start to build up resentment against the rest of the household. Get rid of that problem completely by working together.

Use Natural Cleaning Supplies

If you are looking for a very efficient way to get rid of odors in your home you can simply use a bowl of vinegar. You take the bowl of vinegar and place it where the odor is leaving it overnight. The next day you will see that the odor will be gone. It’s an efficient and natural way to make your home smell fresh.

Another way to freshen up your kitchen is with regular old lemons. You can purchase lemons specifically for cleaning, or you can squeeze the juice out first to put on food or make lemonaid, then use the rind for cleaning. Toss it down the garbage disposal with a handful of ice, and your disposal will be sparkling clean and smell fresh.

Get Your Windows to Shine

If you are looking for an inexpensive way to clean your windows you will want to use newspaper and window cleaner. It may sound very silly but the newspaper does an excellent job when it comes to cleaning windows. If you are looking for a way to clean your windows without using ammonia you can make use of water with lemon in it. If you want to use the lemon juice that you squeezed earlier to clean your garbage disposal, that would make a great way to use your products wisely.

Brush Your Teeth, Save Your Toothbrush

If you have old toothbrushes that you are about to get rid of, don’t do it. You can use them to clean things that you might have trouble getting into. For example, you can clean around faucets and in between titles. It’s a great way to do some deep cleaning when you want to really get your house looking good.

Let a Robot Do the Work

Lastly, why let the humans do all of the work? Get a robot in your house to help you clean. DealDash offers robot vacuum cleaners sometimes, and I was lucky enough to be able to win one about two years ago. His name is Neato, and he is still going strong even though I have him set to clean every single day. I still have to vacuum sometimes, of course, but he takes a lot of the work off of my plate and makes the vacuuming go much faster.

DealDash Helps Create a Calm Office Space

DealDash

Do you want to feel happier at more calm at work? If so, then read this article from DealDash.

Going to work can sometimes be stressful. However, if you can manage to turn your personal office space or cubicle into a place that you feel relaxed then your happiness and your productivity will increase. A stark environment with bare white walls does nothing to calm you or make you feel at ease. Try some of these tips from DealDash to improve your office life by creating a calming office space.

Plants, Plants Everywhere

There is nothing more calming or stress-reducing than some beautiful green plants in your work space. Plants can de-stress you, make you feel more relaxed, and look nice as well. I prefer real plants, but the artificial kind will work as well. If you aren’t a big fan of leafy green plants, then just try a small succulent on your desk or a small bouquet of flowers to cheer up your space.

Clean Up

If you have 22 different post-its stuck around your cubicle, along with various papers, pens, and half-eaten food (ew!) then it’s time to clean up your office space. Clean up is simple, just start with the things that can definitely be thrown away or recycled such as that half-eaten bagel and those lunch take-out menus that you can easily look up online if you need them. Once you have thrown away the trash, then tidy up the rest by organizing them nicely. You will feel much better about your space when it’s clean.

Adding a Touch of Home

Now that you have gotten some nice plants and cleared away your trash and recyclables, it’s time to decorate. Bring in a few framed photos of your family, friends, or pet. They will make you feel more calm and happy through the stress of the day. You can also bring in your favorite coffee mug, and even a foot massager for under your desk (Shhhh! I won’t tell!). If you are a fan of the new flameless LED candles you could bring in one of those as well. They typically have remotes so you can change their color throughout the day to suit your mood.

Music to My Ears

If you aren’t required to be on the phone most of the day, then bring in your favorite music. You can load up your iPod with different playlists to complement your mood. Make a “busy day” playlist with background music, and a “slow day” playlist with lots of upbeat songs to get you through a slow day. If you have your own office then a Bluetooth speaker might be the thing for you, however, if you are out in the “cubicle farm”, then you’ll need to get headphones or ear buds. If your job requires you to answer the phone then try just sticking in 1 ear bud so you can hear when the phone rings.

DealDash Asks Questions Before Organizing

DealDash

Here are some things that you should ask yourself before organizing your home. Read on for tips from DealDash.

When you are looking to organize your home you really need to start with a plan. Of course, you could just jump in and get started, doing things here and there with no plan. However, you are not likely to get much done at all. Answer these four questions before you organize your home and you will be able to come up with a solid plan to get things done, with a little help from DealDash.

Why Do You Want to Organize Your Home?

Firstly, you’ll want to do is figure out why you are choosing this particular time to organize your home. Some people want to live in a home with less clutter while others want a home that is faster to clean. You need to know why you want to organize your home so you can make a solid plan to do just that.

If you are trying to get organized before a guest comes to visit, you might do better to use your time cleaning instead of organizing. You can get to the organizing after your guest leaves. Usually, things get dirtier as you are organizing, then you have to clean up after. If you’re on a short time schedule it might not make sense to do it at this time.

How am I Going to Organize My Home?

You need to make a good plan as to just how you are going to organize your home. For example, what do you plan to do with the things that you are going to get rid of in your home? Will you donate them? Do they need to be recycled or thrown away? This is an important part of the organizational process. Don’t skip this question, the answers will provide you some direction when it comes to organizing your home.

When am I Going to Organize My Home?

You also need to figure out when you are going to organize your home. You need to decide whether you are going to spend your weekends organizing or if you are going to take some time in the evenings after work to get organizational tasks done. This can help you to not procrastinate and get things done.

What in My Home Needs to be Organized?

Finally, you will need to figure out what exactly in your home needs to be organized. Does every room in your home need more organization or just a few? This can help you determine what exactly needs to be done and will give you a better idea about the time frame that you will need to get it completed.

Thanks For Reading

Getting all of these questions answered is going to go far in helping you develop a plan to get your home organized. Thank you for reading the newest DealDash article. I hope that you found these organizing tips helpful.

DealDash’s Interesting Uses for Toothpaste

DealDash

Other than cleaning your teeth, toothpaste has many uses. Read on for some interesting ways to use toothpaste, from DealDash.

Of course you brush your teeth with toothpaste, but there are dozens and dozens of other uses for the minty paste. Keep in mind that the uses that I am going to mention down below don’t need to be done with expensive toothpaste. Save the $5 per tube toothpaste for your teeth, and get the generic $1 type for these other uses. Some of these uses only take a small amount of toothpaste. You can use up that travel-sized toothpaste that your dentist gave you at your last appointment. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Clean Your Shoes

That’s right, toothpaste makes an excellent cleaner for the scuff marks on your shoes. When your white soled sneakers get those annoying black scuff marks, just whip out your tube of travel toothpaste and scrub those scuffs right off. You can use an old toothbrush or a q-tip to apply the toothpaste and scrub in a circular motion on the scuff.

Polish Your Jewelry

Before trying to polish your precious heirlooms with toothpaste, be sure to try a hidden spot first. You wouldn’t want to accidentally damage your grandma’s jewels! With that said, however, toothpaste can make an excellent jewelry cleaner. Just put a little bit on the jewelry, and rub in small, circular motions with a dry cloth. Rinse with cool, clear water afterward. Your jewelry should look bright, shiny, and new!

Fix Your Music and Movies

If you haven’t gone completely digital and still have CDs and DVDs laying around, you can fix their small scratches with toothpaste. Squeeze a small amount onto the scratched surface. Using a soft cloth, rub the toothpaste over the entire CD, moving the cloth in circles. FInally, wipe any leftover toothpaste off with a damp cloth.

Help Minor Burns

This isn’t meant for major burns, of course, but if you have a small burn you can use toothpaste to take the sting out. Just smooth on a thin layer of toothpaste and your burn will be feeling better in no time. I find this little trick to be effective on my accidental burns I’ve gotten by touching the toaster oven as I’m trying to get the tray out. I should really be more careful. Until then, I’ll be using toothpaste on my minor burns.

DealDash: 10 Quick Tips to Home Organization

DealDash

Hate clutter? Here are 10 quick tips to get your home organized, from DealDash.

Keeping your home organized can be a daunting task, especially if you have children. It does however not need to be this way. With these ten tips you will have your home organized in no time at all. Read on for more information, from DealDash.

1- Start Small

Starting small is definitely the way to go as if you try to do everything all at once you are going to get overwhelmed and get nothing done.

2- Make a Plan

Assess the situation so that you know exactly what you need to get done. Just diving right into the job with no organization is not a good plan as you are likely to get little done is the way of organizing your home

3- Don’t Go Alone! Get the Family Involved

Getting your family involved in your organizing your home. This is a great way to teach them responsibility for taking care of their things.

4- Room By Room Makes it Easier

Going room by room is going to help you keep track of what has been done and what needs to be done and again it will save you from being overwhelmed.

5- Do Some Research on Organizing

Doing a little research can also be helpful when you want to get some more organization in your home. You can visit websites that deal with home organization so you can see hat tips you can apply to your own home.

6- Get Your Supplies Ready Beforehand

Making sure that you will have all the needed supplies for organizing your home is another smart thing to do so that you will be able to complete all of the organizational tasks that you want to do to get your home organized.

7- Make it a Game

If you have been paying attention to these tips, then you are planning on getting your family involved. If you have kids, then making organizing a game can make them more eager to help you. Take a few clothes baskets and decide what you want in each one. Let the kids “play basketball” and throw the things in the baskets.

8- Listen to Music

There’s no need for organizing to be silent drudgery! Make an “organization playlist” on YouTube or Itunes. Fill it with upbeat and dancy songs. It will make your organizing go by much faster, I promise.

9- Do it When You’re Fresh

Don’t wait until the end of the day to try and get things organized. If you have time during the workday, then do it then. If you work a regular 9-5, then save the organizing for a weekend day. And remember, it’s much easier to do if you have been trying to keep things in their places all along.

10- Don’t Procrastinate, Get it Done

The best tip that you can remember for getting your home organized is to just make sure that you complete the work. Procrastination is your worst enemy when it comes to getting your home organized. So once you have done your research and you have all the needed supplies you just need to get the work done.

This means that there is a high likelihood of flies coming in the house. No one likes it when flies come in the house, so here are some tips and tricks for getting rid of the flies in your life.

Fly Traps

There are commercial fly traps on the market that you can purchase, or you can easily make your own. The most popular type of fly trap that you can buy at the big box store is the common fly paper. These are sticky sheets of glue that the fly lands on and then can’t escape.

If you’d rather make your own fly trap, you can do so quite easily. Just get a dish (not a clear jar) and put about an inch of dish soap and an inch of water. You can also add a few drops of honey or lemon to attract the flies. They will come investigate and drown in the water.

Take Preventative Measures

If drowning flies doesn’t appeal to you, then you should take some preventative measures to keep the flies out of your house. Obviously, the best measure is to keep your door-opening to a minimum in the summer months. However, there are many other things that you can do to reduce the amount of flies in your house.

Firstly, make sure that you don’t leave any food out. This seems like common sense, but if you have small kids or grandkids that spend a lot of time at your house, then you will need to be vigilant. Kids are notorious for dropping crumbs and leaving cups of juice in random places, so be sure that you are keeping an eye on the kids when they are eating.

Next, be sure that you have a lid on your kitchen garbage. Rotting food is like perfume to flies, and the kitchen garbage is like a buffet to them. If you don’t have a lid on your kitchen trash can, then it’s time to invest in a new one. I actually won an awesome motion detecting garbage can on DealDash. The lid stays shut until you wave your hand in front of it, then it opens up for a moment so you can throw the trash away.

Finally, be sure that you don’t keep any fruit out on the counter that isn’t fresh. If your fruit is starting to get too ripe it’s time to either eat it, put it in the fridge, or throw it away. Fruit that is too ripe is like an invitation to flies (and fruit flies) to come in and feast.

Office Cleaning the DealDash Way

DealDash

Want to have an office as clean as the one above? Clean your office the DealDash way.

What is cleaning the office the DealDash way? Quite simply, it’s cleaning the office as you would any room in the home – quickly, thoroughly, and with more brain power than brawn. Read on for more details.

Clean as You Go

Don’t wait until your office (or home office) is a gigantic mess before you decide to clean it. Clean it a bit each day, empty the trash, clear off the desk clutter, and wipe down the surfaces daily. Do you have an office cleaner that comes in to do these things already? Use your time for other cleaning tasks, then, ones that aren’t done as often. Do a different task each day and see your office sparkle.

Enlist Others to Help You Clean

Perhaps you work in a small office that only has a cleaner come in once per week. Don’t do all of the daily cleaning yourself, enlist other people to help share the burden of the work. If you can get each person in your office (even if there are only a few) commit to doing certain cleaning tasks, then that will make your life so much easier. If you just have a home office that needs cleaning, then I guess you’re on your own! Unless you can convince your family members to help you, that is.

Keep It Simple

You don’t need all kinds of fancy cleaning products to keep your home office or small business office clean! You just need one all-purpose cleaner and either paper towels or some cleaning rags. If you’re wondering which all-purpose cleaner to use, I suggest the cheapest and easiest of them all – white vinegar! You can use white vinegar and water in a 50/50 solution that will clean, disinfect, de-stink, and even clean glass to a nice, bright shine with little effort on your part! Just get an empty spray bottle (they have them in the travel section in the big box stores), and fill it with a 50/50 vinegar and water solution. Simple, easy, cheap, and completely kid and pet safe!

Be Gentle With Yourself

If you’re a perfectionist, try to be gentle with yourself. If you have a small office or home office and no professional cleaners, then it isn’t going to be perfect. Just do the best you can, follow these tips, and stick with it. The longer you keep up the cleaning plan, the cleaner it will become over time. You can do it!

DealDash Helps: Clean Stuffed Animals

DealDash

Kids love stuffed animals, sometimes a little bit too much. DealDash is here to help you clean your kid’s stuffed animals.

Little children love their stuffed animals so much, and many like to take them everywhere with them. This means that the stuffed animals can get very dirty and grungy. Some stuffed animals are easy to just toss in the washing machine, but others take a little more TLC to get clean. Luckily, DealDash is here to help you clean those stuffed animals and make them like new again. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Use the Washing Machine

If you can wash your stuffed animals in the washing machine it’s the easiest way. However, be sure to check the tag on them before you wash them to make sure they will hold up. If it’s an older stuffed animal that needs a little stitching here and there because the stuffing is coming out then I wouldn’t wash it in the machine. No matter what shape the stuffed animal is in, make sure that you stick it in a mesh washing bag to protect it even further. Use the gentle cycle, and hang up the animal to dry.

Wash It By Hand

If you have an older or more fragile stuffed animal, then you’re going to need to wash it by hand. Don’t worry, it won’t take too long, and it will be worth it to make your child happy and give them back their favorite stuffed animal fully intact.

Washing a stuffed animal by hand is simple! You can use a sink, small wash basin, or in the case of a larger stuffed animal, a bathtub. Fill the container up as far as you need to cover the animal with warm water. While the container is filling up, pour in some baby shampoo. If it’s gentle enough for your baby’s delicate skin, then it’s good enough for the baby’s stuffed animal.

Let the animal soak for a few minutes, gently rubbing the fur, especially in the dirty spots. After the animal is sufficiently clean, then drain the water and rinse off the animal with clean water. After that gently pat dry with a towel, then hang up to dry.

If You Can’t Wash the Animal

Some stuffed animals can’t be washed due to their age, condition, or material that they are made out of. In these cases, there are a few other options. You can spritz them with Febreeze, spray them down with Lysol, or even just put them out in the sunlight to kill the germs.

DealDash’s Unusual Uses for Baking Soda

DealDash

Baking soda is inexpensive and extremely versatile. Here are some interesting uses from DealDash.

Baking soda is the household name for sodium bicarbonate. Sodium bicarbonate a processed natural salt; it was originally made as a leavening agent for baking. However, there are so many useful tasks for baking soda that it’s hard to imagine using it for just baking! In fact, I have rarely used baking soda in baking, but rather numerous uses around the house. Read on for some handy tips and tricks to using baking soda from DealDash.

Dry Dog Shampoo

If your dog is getting a little smelly but hates taking a bath, baking soda could be the tool you need for doggie to succeed. Since baking soda is completely safe and non-toxic it makes a great dry dog shampoo. All you have to do is sprinkle the baking soda on your dog, rub it in thoroughly, and then brush it out.

  • Pro Tip 1 – Do this outside, it can be messy
  • Pro Tip 2 – Put the baking soda in an old container that was meant for sprinkling dry substances, such as an old cleaned out parmesan cheese container or even a powdered sugar container.

Get the Smells Out of Books

Do you have any old books that are musty or smokey smelling? No worries, DealDash is here with a solution for you. Try baking soda! Just sprinkle baking soda on the pages, stick it in a bag, and put it in the freezer. A few days later take it outside and open it up. Shake out the book, and viola! No more smell.

Use as a Mouthwash or Toothpaste

Use can use baking soda as a toothpaste by simply wetting your brush, dipping it in the baking soda, and then brushing your teeth. If you prefer the minty freshness of actual toothpaste, then you can put your normal toothpaste on and then just sprinkle a little bit of baking soda on the top for a toothpaste booster.

Low on mouthwash? No problem. Baking soda is your answer. Simply take a small glass of water and mix in 1 teaspoon of baking soda. Use like a regular mouthwash. It neutralizes odors and will make your mouth feel fresh.

Clean Your Hairbrushes and Combs

Let’s face it, combs and especially hairbrushes can get dirty over time. You can clean them easily with baking soda, it will naturally remove oils, build up, and residue. Just put a teaspoon of baking soda into a cup, and stick your hairbrush or comb in. Let it soak for a bit, and then rinse off and dry. Presto, sparkling clean!

Removing Stubborn Car Odors the DealDash Way

DealDash

Did you or one of the kids spill something in your car? Have you had trouble removing the odor? No problem, DealDash has some tips.

Let me tell you all a sad story. Last year, in August, I bought a brand new car. It was one of the re-designed Honda Pilots. It had a wonderful new car smell, and I was very happy with it. About a week later I did a little grocery shopping, including a rotisserie chicken. Well, at some point on the ride home, that rotisserie chicken fell onto its side, and all of the greasy juicy insides went all over my brand new carpets in the new car. I was so upset.

About a week later I did a little grocery shopping, including a rotisserie chicken. Well, at some point on the ride home, that rotisserie chicken fell onto its side, and all of the greasy juicy insides went all over my brand new carpets in the new car. I was so upset.

When I got home, of course I tried to scrub out the grease, but it left a lingering smell. And since it was August, the smell got worse by the day. Here is where my newfound knowledge of how to clean the odors out of a car will come in handy for you. Read on for some ideas.

Pat It Dry

If you have had a spill in the car, it’s important to get the liquid up right away. Immediately after a spill, clean up any excess liquid that you can see. This quick step will make it easier to clean later on. Use paper towels, napkins, or a sponge and press it against any fabric where the liquid has spilled. Keep patting until it seems relatively dry to you.

Wash Your Mats

If any of the liquid has spilled onto your floor mats, no problem. If yours are completely cloth they can just go right into the washing machine. However, most of them have a rubber backing, so for those, it’s best to hose them off. If you’d like to put a very small amount of Dawn dish detergent on them with a sponge and then hose them off, that would work fine. After that, hang them outside to dry, or leave them flat to dry.

Absorb the Odor

After you have washed the areas off the best you can, it’s time to put something in your car to absorb the odor. You can sprinkle baking soda on your carpets or cloth seats. Leave it there for a few days, and then vacuum it up. That should make your car smell a lot cleaner and fresher.

DealDash Helps Whiten Your Clothing

DealDash

Having the whitest whites that you can manage is a point of pride in the laundry world. Here are some tips and suggestions from DealDash to get you started.

Are your white clothing the whitest that they can be? No? Do your white clothing items have some yellow marks, stains, or are they just plain old dingy? Well, no problem. DealDash is here to help you whiten and brighten your white clothing. Read on for more information.

Bleach for the All-White Items

This one is fairly obvious, everyone knows about bleach! However, some people don’t realize that it osn’t recommended not to use bleach on items that have white as well as other colors. So with that said, if you have a patterned or multi-colored item you want to brighten up, use a method instead of chlorine bleach.

Peroxide

Surprisingly, Hydrogen Peroxide will eliminate a lot of stains, including blood as long as you apply it soon enough. You can use peroxide on clothing, table cloths, and even shoes. Simply rinse off as much of the stain as you can, and then liberally apply the peroxide. Personally, I put my peroxide in a spray bottle and spray any stains before I toss them in the hamper or washing machine. Peroxide makes an excellent stain pre-treater.

Dawn Dish Detergent

My favorite dish detergent is Dawn, of course, and it can be used for so many things. However, the best use of Dawn dish detergent stain-wise is on greasy stains. If I am cooking and I get any greasy stains on my clothing I immediately put some Dawn on a paper towl and blot it into the grease stain. After that I just leave it in as a pre-treatment.

Dawn is great to clean just about anything! Just remember, though, that it foams up really well, so don’t put too much on at one time or you will get way too much foam action going on in your washing machine. If you feel like you need a lot for the stain, just be sure that you rinse it out before you put it in the washing machine.

DealDash Uses Fragrance Oils at Home

DealDash

Fragrance oils can help keep your house smelling delightful. Here are some tips and tricks on how to use them, from DealDash.

Fragrance oils are, quite simply, oils with scent added. They are not the same as essential oils, which can have other useful benefits such as calming, stress relief, or energizing. However, some essential oils, such as lavender or lemon can be used as a fragrance oil as well. These yummy-smelling oils can be used in crafting, home scenting, perfumes and anytime you want to create a pleasant smelling environment. Read on for more details from DealDash.

Make a Scented Spray

This is one of the easiest ways to use fragrance oils. All you have to do is add a few drops of fragrance oils to a plastic spray bottle, then fill with water. Shake the bottle well to mix the oil into the water. You can then spray a few times into the air to spread the scent into any room. You can also spray this onto smelly carpets or furniture. Please be sure to test a hidden spot to make sure that it doesn’t stain.

Make Your Carpet Smell Great

If you’d like to make your very own carpet powder it’s easy! Just take a box of baking soda and mix in 5-10 drops of fragrance oil, depending on how strong you want the carpet powder to smell.  Mix in the oil, and set aside for 12-24 hours. After this time has passed, you can sprinkle this mixture onto your carpet. Shake sparingly across the carpet. Allow the mixture to sit in the carpet fibers for 30-60 minutes, then vacuum it up. Enjoy the fresh scent of your house! As with the spray, please test it on a tiny hidden area of your carpet to make sure that it doesn’t stain.

Use in a Tart Warmer or Oil Diffuser

You can use fragrance oils in both tart warmers and oil diffusers. With the tart warmer, you can either add the fragrance oil directly to the wax that you’re melting or add a little water and then the oil. It’s your choice!

The oil diffuser is very simple and easy to use. With most oil diffusers you fill them up to the line with water and then add in however many drops of oil that you would like to use. Remember, these oils have a strong scent, don’t over-do it!

DealDash Helps: Has Your Dog Spread His Fleas?

DealDash

Summertime is coming, and that means that the fleas will be out in full force. Here are some tips and tricks for keeping the fleas under control, from DealDash.

Fleas can be quite difficult to get rid of, and sometimes it seems like the arachnid invasion never end. DealDash is here to show you a few ways to keep the fleas under control. It will also give you a few tips on how to prevent the fleas from coming back. These methods are aimed at people who would like to do things more naturally.

This Isn’t Natural, But…

The first thing that you need to do before you tackle the fleas inside your house is to work on the fleas on your dog (or cat.) I personally suggest that you use the strong stuff that’s available from a veterinarian. A simple flea collar isn’t really going to do the trick. It will just make the fleas run from the head to the tail.

Vacuum Your Carpets Very Well

When vacuuming your carpets, start with where your pet enjoys spending his time. Then, vacuum the entire house, room by room, until you have gotten all of the carpets. Pay special attention to the corners of the room and baseboards. Fleas like to hide in dark, so move the furniture, vacuum underneath in all of the nooks and crannies. Don’t forget to throw away the bag or empty the canister when you’re done. Throw it in the garbage outside, not in the trash in the kitchen.

Wash All of the Bedding

Next, wash your pet’s bed as well as all of the bedding in the house. Even though you might not allow Fido up on the furniture, he might jump up there occasionally when you aren’t looking. It’s better to be safe than sorry when it comes to fleas. Wash all of the items in hot water with an extra rinse cycle. Also, use the hottest dryer setting available. Be sure to do this every few days until the fleas are completely gone.

Spray With Vinegar

First, make a vinegar spray. Pour one part vinegar and one part water into a spray bottle. You can use white vinegar or apple cider vinegar – your choice. Spray your carpet with the vinegar mixture. Be sure to focus on areas that your pet likes to spend time in, as well as around baseboards, near entryways, and under furniture. This spray is also safe to use on any surfaces, hard or soft, including your couch, bed, and carpets. The vinegar stinks when it’s wet, but once it has dried the smell goes away completely.

DealDash Helps: Keep Your Pet’s Food Bowls Clean

Dealdash pets animals cat dog

No matter what type of pet you have it’s important to keep their food and water bowls clean. Here are some tips and tricks from DealDash to help you.

You like to eat from clean dishes and bowls, correct? Well, so does your pet! By regularly cleaning your pet’s dishes, you can prevent bacterial growth that could make him or her sick. In addition, you can make his or her eating and drinking experiences much more enjoyable! And that’s what we all want for our pets, right?

Hand-Washing the Old Fashioned Way

Not everyone has a dishwasher, and some people even prefer to wash the dishes by hand. If you choose to wash your pet’s dishes by hand, then be sure to choose a mild dishwashing liquid. If you are not sure which detergents are mild, check the product labels for indications that the product would be soft on your hands. If you want to be extra sure that the dishwashing detergent is safe for your favorite pet, then you can even make your own! It only takes a moment. Just combine equal parts of baking soda, warm water, and table salt.

After washing your pet’s dish, it’s smart to disinfect it as well. If you haven’t scrubbed the dishes quite well enough by just hand-washing, then you should definitely disinfect them. Don’t worry, it’s easy. To disinfect the dish after scrubbing it, mix one gallon of water with one tablespoon of bleach. Add this mixture to the dish and let it sit for about two minutes before rinsing it out. Be sure to rinse it very well.

Better Yet, Wash Them in the Dishwasher

No matter how hot the water is that you use when hand-washing the dishes, it probably isn’t as hot as a dishwasher gets. A dishwasher gets all the way up to 140 degrees F to remove and kill bacteria. To prevent cross-contamination with the human family’s dishes, it is preferable to wash your pet’s dishes by themselves in the dishwasher. Be sure to have two sets of pet dishes for when one of them is in the dishwasher.

Of course, doing a whole dishwasher cycle for just a few dishes is rather wasteful. If it doesn’t bother you to put your own dishes in with your pet’s, it is fine if you have a ‘sanitize’ setting on your dishwasher. This setting effectively kills and removes all bacteria, thus preventing cross-contamination issue that we previously discussed. Be sure to wash your pet’s dishes a few times a week. Your pet will thank you for it!

Happy Mother’s Day from DealDash!!

dealdash mother's day

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you moms and grandmas out there! If you’re going out for fun today, here are some ideas from DealDash.

Today is your day, moms and grandmas! Are you spending time with your kids or grandkids? Or do you prefer to take the day for some “me time?” It’s your day, you do whatever you want to do today, and let someone else worry about the rest. Here are some ideas from DealDash to enjoy your day.

Sleep In, Mom

Today of all days is when you can take all of the time that you want and enjoy sleeping in. Personally, with three kids, I never get to sleep in except on Mother’s Day and my birthday. Soak up those wonderful Z’s, refresh your body and your mind.

Make Sure Someone Else Does the Chores

Don’t let your family let the dishes pile up and the carpets go unvacuumed for the day. If you’re normally the person who does the bulk of the chores, be sure to take the day off and assign those chores to someone else. If you don’t, they will just go undone and you’ll have to do them the next day. That’s not really giving you a break, that’s just putting them off. Ask your family nicely, and I’m sure that they will be happy to take over on this special day, mom.

Head Out for Brunch

Muummm, doesn’t brunch sound good? The only decision that you have to make now is do you want to go to brunch with your family or with some girlfriends? It’s your choice, though I’m sure that your kids would love to come with you. Mother’s Day brunches are always extra special and delicious. Be sure that you call ahead and put your name on the waiting list, you don’t want to wait around too long on your special day.

Take In a Movie

If you decided to go to brunch with your family, why don’t you send them home and call up a few girlfriends? It’s time for a movie matinee, and I’m sure that you’re not in the mood to see the latest cartoon movie. Pick whatever you like, mom, there are some great movies out, and I bet you had the foresight to pick up an AMC gift card from DealDash. That’s right, use your gift card for the movie as well as the snacks! Don’t worry about the calories today, it’s your own personal holiday.

DealDash Cleans: Your Ceiling Fans

DealDash cleans

Ceiling fans can be very tricky to clean. Here are some tips and tricks from DealDash to help you.

Ceiling fans can be tricky to clean for a few reasons – of course, the biggest reason is the fact that they are so high up. If you have vaulted or cathedral ceilings it can be a real problem. The other reason that they can be hard to clean is that they are usually very awkward to clean, you usually end up with the dirt all over you no matter how careful you are. Here are some ideas from DealDash to help you clean those fans.

Use an Old Pillow Case

What? A pillowcase? That’s right! If your ceiling fan is easy to reach with a step stool or stepladder, then an old pillow case is the way to go. If you don’t have any pillow cases that you are willing to sacrifice to the, then pick up one from the thrift store for around $2.

Simply take the pillow case, put it on the fan blade, put one hand on the top and one on the bottom, and pull towards yourself.  The pillowcase will catch all of the dirt, dust, and grime inside. Repeat for the remaining fan blades.

To clean the pillowcase, go outside, flip it inside out, and shake the dust off. After shaking as much of the dust off as you can, pop it into the washing machine with your towels or bedding.

Vacuums Will Work

Hopefully, you have a vacuum with a fan blade attachment. That will make life easier on you.  If you don’t have a specific vacuum attachment for the fan, that’s okay, too. You can use any attachment that has a brush head.

Your vacuum will be the best way to clean your ceiling fans if you have high ceilings. Just put the vacuum attachment or brush attachment on, and extend the vacuum hose or handle. If you need to you can stand on a stepladder, just be careful not to trip over the cord.

Special Fan Cleaning Brush

If neither of the above options appeals to you, or your ceilings are too high, you can get a special fan-cleaning brush. These fan cleaning brushes can be purchased at any big box or hardware store, and are under $20. If you buy one of these, be sure that it’s either the type that you can buy refills for or the kind that can be washed in the washing machine. You don’t want to buy a fan cleaning brush that you just have to throw away when it gets dirty!

Do you find it hard to clean your windows properly? Besides the “elbow grease” that you have to use, you also have to buy special products…Or do you? Luckily for you, this might not be your only option. To add a bit of shine on your windows, you can use some products that you already have in your home. You will find that your work will be easier and you will also save money.

Ammonia, for Long-Term Cleaning

If you want your windows to stay clean for an extended period of time, try mixing ammonia with a dishwashing product (like Dawn!); this creates a protective layer on your window. Put some water in a pot or bucket and add a cup of ammonia and a cup of dishwashing solution. Mix them together and then clean the windows with a soft cloth that you have dunked in the solution.

Rubbing Alcohol Eliminates the Fingerprints

Fingerprints disappear if the window is cleaned with rubbing alcohol. How do you accomplish this? Dilute the rubbing alcohol in some water then add a few drops of essential oils to create a pleasant smell in your room. Try lavender, lemon, or eucalyptus. After you have cleaned the window, you will not need to rinse.

Potatoes Remove Stubborn Stains

You’re not going to believe this one! When you have dirty windows with old caked on spots and stains, try to eliminate them using a slice of raw potato. Rub the spot and wait 5-10 minutes until the spots start to dry. Clean them with a mix of rubbing alcohol and water after the area has dried.

Try Vinegar for Mineral Deposits on Windows

The windows that are close to the sink in your kitchen or your bathroom can get dirty with spots of mineral deposits from the splashed water. Don’t worry because white vinegar is your best friend in this case. Dilute some white vinegar in water. Spray the solution on your window and clean it with a soft cloth.

Salt Eliminates the Matte Film

Many windows, especially those in your kitchen, have a matte appearance. This is because of the film made up of dirt, steam or oil spots. These spots can be cleaned when you use kitchen salt. Dissolve it in white vinegar and water then rub your windows with a sponge.

Baking Soda Eliminates Paint Spots

Have you re-painted and weren’t extra careful? If your window has paint spots that have become hardened after some time, you can use a solution of 1/2 a cup of hot water and a Tablespoon of baking soda. Soak a cloth in this solution and rub it on the paint spot until it disappears. You might have to scrub a little.

Congratulations, you now have the cleanest windows in town, and you didn’t break the budget with cleaning products!

DealDash: Does Cleaning Define You?

DealDash cleans

Does the way you clean your home define you? How Does Cleaning Make You Happy? DealDash investigates…

Even if it might just seem like a daily ritual, the way you clean depends on your mood and your health. If a long period passes between cleaning sessions and your home becomes semi-chaos, it will start to affect your comfort and your well-being. In this case, you can’t help but take your vacuum cleaner, mop, etc. and restore the clean and orderly environment.

With all of that said, some of us have a higher rate of tolerance for clutter and mess. This means that we can function whole weeks without moving a spot of dirt, while others are obsessed that everything has to be perfect. Personally, I am somewhere in the middle, as I guess that most of us are.

What About Personality?

The way your home looks can reveal a lot about your personality, and also about your tastes and interests. Sometimes your home also reflects the moods that you pass through. If our mood is continually bad and it has taken over, it will reflect the environment that we live in. You won’t arrange your shoes nicely anymore, you won’t re-arrange and refresh anything in your house, and dust will start to accumulate. A home with its curtains drawn, unventilated air, and dirty surfaces can feed your negative mental state.

This turns into a vicious cycle where your depressed mood overtakes you and it makes you feel inactive. Unfortunately, the atmosphere of neglect that you created in your home helps maintain this negative state. This is why if you want to change something, you need a bit of self-discipline and a “just do it” attitude.

Are You a Creative Person?

If we talk about a person’s interests, it’s relatively simple to identify them after you visit his home. For example, let’s look at an artist. They place themselves at two opposite ends of the spectrum. Artists have the tendency to live in chaos, but they say that it is a well-organized chaos that helps them find everything they need. This is why they keep their environment like that; it helps them create. We can’t say that it’s affecting them negatively because this simply how they like to function.

If we take a high-powered executive, they look more organized and appear with a more rigid image. They tend to organize everything, from the distance between the crystal glasses to the hygiene products in the bathroom. They also have a tendency to fill their homes with minimalist furniture, with straight lines and neutral colors. In some cases, it creates a cold environment in their homes. Of course, there are plenty of artists who prefer order and some execs who prefer chaos! As I like to tell my kids “Everyone’s different!”

DealDash Presents: Surprising Household Cleaners

DealDash cleaners

Cleaning your house doesn’t have to equal expensive cleaning products. DealDash takes a peek at things around the home that you can use to clean.

Did you know that you can solve your cleaning issues with everyday things that you can find in your kitchen? It’s surprising but true! You won’t believe that such simple products could do so many tough cleaning jobs.

Pepper

Did you know that soap residue can cause the colors on your favorite clothing to look faded? Add a teaspoon of black pepper to the wash cycle (along with cold water detergent) the next time you’re doing a load of colored clothing. Be sure to wash on cold.

How it works: The pepper exfoliates the soap residue that causes clothing to fade. The pepper washes away with the rinse cycle, just as if you had spilled pepper on your clothing and washed it.

Milk

Oops! You forgot to put the cap on your pen, and the ink ended up staining your shirt pocket. Don’t worry!

Pour some milk on the spot and let your shirt on the edge of your bathtub for 1 hour to 24 hours (depending on how severe the ink spot) and everything will be back to normal! Amazing, isn’t it?

Mayonnaise

Where does your child like to draw? Hopefully, it’s on paper. But as the mom of 3 little ones, I know that they’re just as likely to be drawing on the walls and furniture. Put some mayonnaise on the “masterpiece” and let it like that for 10 minutes. Gently rub and wash with a towel. The furniture and walls should be like brand new.

However, please test this in a very small and inconspicuous area. This could possibly cause more harm than good if you have any special finishes on your walls or special fabric on your furniture.

Garlic

Ouch! You were handling something with wooden parts, and there is a sliver in your finger? Fear splinters no more! Rub the spot with some garlic and the splinter will come out immediately.

Sugar

Don’t waste money on sophisticated bug sprays, but rather prepare your best weapon against mosquitos at home. Here’s how:

  1. Mix one cup of milk with five spoons of sugar and a spoon of black pepper
  2. boil the mixture for 10 minutes.
  3. Let it cool down and pour it in small containers that you will put in the buggy places.

Carbonated Water

Have you ever spilled red wine on your carpet? Oh, how I wish I knew about this magic trick when I did this myself years back!

First, don’t panic. Pour some carbonated water on the spot and let it dry. The wine spot will miraculously disappear!

Bay Leaf

Did you know that bay leaves are the worst enemies of insects? Put some in your garden and keep your plants insect-proofed.

Banana

Before you throw the banana peel into the compost bin or garbage, take those long strips and use the inside part to rub your cutlery, leather shoes, and leather sofa and then wipe them with a soft cloth. Voila! Shiny!

Vinegar

Oh, books could be filled with the many uses of this magic liquid.  The claims are well deserved.  Did you know that vinegar can be used to clean the spots on the tea kettle or pots and pans? How?

Water + Vinegar + Boil. Rinse well and look how clean your kettle or pots and pans are now.

DealDash Warns: Don’t Clean Your Carpets with This!

DealDash carpet cleaning

You might think that you need to use harsh chemicals to clean your carpets. However, there are two chemical solutions you should not use. Let DealDash help.

Unlike most other materials or fabrics, the carpet can handle filth without showing it. This is why you have the impression that it might be clean and you don’t have to clean it. Take a better look at its fibers, and you will find that the top layer is covered with dust and small spots of dirt. This gives an untidy look to your carpet. This is when you need to clean it, and fast. Some chemical cleaners might look harmless, but they should never be used in this process.

Laundry Detergent

Washing your clothes and cleaning your carpet are two very different things. This is why you can’t use the same chemical solution for both. The detergent can give excellent results when it is used on clothes, but it does not have the same effect when it is used on your carpet. Most of the time, the detergent is going to make a lot of foam. You will have to flush this foam with water.

When you increase the amount of water, you risk “flooding” the fibers of your carpet. Thus,  pushing the dirt inside. If this was not enough trouble, you risk keeping your carpet wet for several days. This gives excellent conditions for moisture to gather and mold to grow.

Bleach

Even if you have a light colored carpet, avoid using bleach on it at any cost. It won’t clean the dirty spots, especially if we’re talking about filthy spots of cooking oil or grease, wine, sauces, or any other sticky liquids such as soda or juice. Instead, you can find your carpet a bit discolored and “bleached out” on the places that you applied bleach – really, what else did you expect?

How Well Do You Know Your Carpet?

Now that you understand that you can’t postpone cleaning your carpet any longer, you must make a decision on how to clean it. Which alternative will you choose: either you clean it on your own or you call a carpet cleaning company to do the job.

If you do call the carpet cleaning company, know that you didn’t make a bad choice. The detergent they use is going to dissolve into your carpet fibers, and later it will be cleaned with a special vacuum cleaner.  This way, your carpet will dry fast, and the colors will be refreshed.

DealDash Gets Your Cleaning Schedule in Shape

DealDash cleaning

DealDash would like to help you get on a cleaning schedule. Scheduling your cleaning at home can make life easier.

Have you ever thought about creating a cleaning schedule? If your house feels like a mess, perhaps you should. It is much easier to complete tasks with a schedule for cleaning your home than to have it all pile up. What’s your favorite part of cleaning? Being done with cleaning, of course!

A housekeeping schedule can be created for a day, a week, a quarter or even a season. If you’ve never had a cleaning schedule and your house is reasonably clean you might wonder, “why even bother?” After reading the reasons I list below, you might want to think again.

Top 4 Reasons to Make a Schedule

  1. A schedule gives you the time to prioritize what needs to be cleaned the most

Making a cleaning schedule allows you to focus on specific stuff that you use daily. You know that the dishes have to be washed daily, then there is laundry to be done, etc. A schedule will make you prioritize the most important items and other items you use in your house.

If you are good about keeping up with your new cleaning schedule, it’s going to make life easier. The daily list will be short enough, allowing you to accomplish everything on it. You will hit all the spots that are in real need of a cleaning; this is the most positive effect you will have from a cleaning schedule.

Don’t Go Alone

  1. A schedule Encourages everyone in the home participate in the cleaning

If you’re an overworked parent, have you ever thought about this? Why do you feel like you are the only one in your home that does the cleaning? Or why are you the only one who can “see” what stuff must be cleaned, while everyone else is minding their own business, ignoring the mess? Then you feel unhappy with everyone?

You are not alone. Thus, creating a cleaning schedule on paper or a white board can resolve this problem. Put it on the fridge or some other spot where everyone can see it and talk with your family about it. Make sure everyone understands that you have expectations from them to keep up with their tasks on the list.

  1. Everything in your house will stay clean (most of the time)

I guess everyone had a ‘thing’ in their home that got so filthy you were almost unable to save it, or it took a long time to get it clean again. It might have been a microwave, a pan, or something in the garage. Make sure this does not happen again by following your schedule. Assuming you respect the schedule, the main areas will always be always clean. You won’t face this problem ever again.

  1. A schedule allows you to get the housework done, and also have free time

When you make a cleaning schedule you won’t end up cleaning your home all day. Finally, cleaning must come to an end. Having a clean home is a must so that you can have a beautiful place to live and relax. Following a cleaning schedule is going to allow you to accomplish those results and give you free time to do what you really want – have fun!

DealDash Kitchen Tricks

DealDash Kitchen

Do you dread cleaning the kitchen? Cleaning your kitchen will go much faster and easier if you use these tricks from DealDash.

Do you wish that you had a clean kitchen, but you don’t find enough time to do it by yourself? You don’t have to feel bad about it! Remember that you are a hard working person who deserves appreciation, especially if you’re the main one who cleans in your household. If you read this article, then you are going to find some helpful advice from DealDash you can use when cleaning up in your kitchen.

Luckily for you, there are some “shortcuts” with which you can achieve this dream without making a significant effort. Not only are they less labor intensive, they also reduce the time you spend for cleaning as well.

Stove and Oven

When you are cleaning your kitchen, you should know that the last thing you need to clean is your stove. That’s because most of the time, the stove is the dirtiest, oiliest, and most stained with different sauces appliance in your kitchen. By cleaning the stove and oven last, we will avoid spreading the oil from the stove to the whole kitchen. Don’t forget to take care of the tools you use when cooking. Put them in warm water to soak with some detergent so that they will be easier to clean.

Don’t forget to take care of the tools you use when cooking, such as the tongs and spatula. Many people store them in a vase or jar on top of the stove, or next to the stove top. They accumulate dirt and oil by just being next to the stove. Put them in warm water to soak with some detergent so that they will be easier to clean.

Surprisingly enough, the oven and the stove can be kept cleaned with the help of some dryer sheets! The soaps inside the dryer sheets can help loosen up some of that caked on grime.

Sink

Disinfect your sink. I know it is hard to believe, but your kitchen sink can hold more germs than your bathroom! To sanitize it properly, you need to wash the sink with water and detergent. After that, you can scrub it with vinegar, and finally some hydrogen peroxide.

If you have a stainless steel sink, you can give it a nice glowing shine if you wipe it with a napkin in which you put some drops of natural oil. You can use either mineral oil or olive oil. The natural oil helps to drain every drop of water and prevents future mold accumulation. This maintains the clean sink  for an extended period of time.

Microfiber, Your Best Friend

If you are using paper towels to clean, you are making one of your biggest cleaning mistakes. Use microfiber towels. After one use they can be cleaned in the washing machine and reutilized. You will have significant savings on your kitchen supplies.

Sponges

It is well known that kitchen sponges and scrub brushes are the perfect terrain for the development of bacteria. This is why it’s a good idea that every night, after the last use, you squeeze it hard enough to remove most of the water and put it in the microwave for a minute or two. The remaining water will steam out, and the germs will be killed with the heat.

DealDash Reveals the Dirtiest Home Areas

DEALDASH dirty home areas

You might be surprised at the dirtiest stuff in your home. You might miss cleaning these items because you don’t realize how dirty they are. Let DealDash help.

What do you think are the dirtiest areas in your home? For some reason, the toilet bowl has gained a bad reputation when it comes to the dirtiest. However, this isn’t quite true. Know that there are many other objects that house ten times more germs than the poor “throne.”

If you don’t realize that these things are dirty, you postpone their cleaning. After reading this article you won’t be putting them on the back-burner anymore. Here are some of the dirtiest items in your house, from DealDash:

Mobile phone and Tablet

Did you know that a mobile phone or tablet might be hosting way more germs than your toilet? Also, think about the fact that you touch it with your hands and face many times per day. A simple swipe with some disinfectant wipes can considerably reduce the number of microbes. You need to clean these items daily, for your health.

Your keyboard

It might be unbelievable, but the keyboard of your notebook or your PC can hold even more germs than your mobile phone. Are you curious what the reason for this is? Here it is:

Dirt, dead skin cells, and probably leftovers from your snack are accumulating between the keys.

Just think, you touch the keys with dirty hands. Don’t try to tell me that you wash your hands every single time you pet your dog, touch something outside, or after eating anything. You rarely clean your keyboard, but you probably should. Get out the can of air and the disinfecting wipes, ya’ll!

Toothbrush

You won’t like what you are going to read but it will make you take quick action. Are you ready? Your toothbrush holds a lot of microbes because it is wet after you use it (in the bathroom), and the fact that the toothbrush attracts microorganisms from the air like a magnet.

There’s good news, though, you can clean and sanitize your toothbrush if you keep it in a cup with a mouthwash product such as Listerine. Also, it is recommended that you replace it as often as possible, optimally every 3 months.

Carpets

There is no reason to tell you exactly how much dirt your carpet can hold. You use a vacuum cleaner clean the carpets, and let’s be honest, they are a dirt factory. Be sure to vacuum weekly, and once per year, rent a professional carpet cleaner that will provide you with optimized sanitation for your carpet.

Pillows and mattress

Your pillows and mattress are not often replaced. This usually only happens if they start to deteriorate, not because they are old and dirty. You can find incredible amounts of dirt in your pillows. This dirt includes dead skin cells and other impurities which feed the families of mites and other microorganisms. Try to clean your pillows and your mattress as often as you can if you are not going to replace it every few years.

Luckily, you can put most pillows in the washer and dryer on the gentle cycle. Pease check the tag on your pillows before you do this. In addition, I also recommend that you put a high quality mattress protector on your bed. You can wash and dry the mattress protector in your machines at home. It will prolong the life of your mattress by years!

I hope that you found this new DealDash article on cleaning ideas helpful. Reading the DealDash Reviews and our sister blog DealDash Tips Blog every day is one way to stay “in the loop” when it comes to DealDash happenings.
