DealDash Tips for Budget Fashion

dealdash

You don’t have to spend big bucks to look fabulous. Here are some tips to look fabulous on a budget.

Fashion is all around us. Some of us like to keep up with the latest trends while some of us like to have our own unique style. Regardless of what your preference of fashion is it can be expensive. There are so many designer names and brands out there that cost an arm and a leg. Luckily there are ways to look fashionable on a budget. Here are some tips to stay fashionable on a budget, from DealDash.

Examine Your Closet

The first thing you should do is exam your closet to see if you have any clothes that you would like to keep. You have already made a decision that you want to change your wardrobe, it is best to get rid of the clothes that you do not want and keep the ones that you do. If you can keep some of the pieces in your wardrobe like basics, jeans, and plain shirts, then you should do this instead of buying new ones.

Buy Already Worn Clothes

There are so many apps out there where you can sell or buy your clothes.  You can use smartphone apps to buy name brand clothes for a discounted price. Buying clothes from other people on apps and online is the best way to look fashionable on a budget. If you prefer to see your clothes in person, many consignment stores have “boutique” areas where they put the designer items.

Set a Monthly Budget

In order to stay fashionable on a budget, you have to set a monthly budget for spending money on clothes and accessories.  You first have to calculate how much money you would have after your monthly expenses. If you want more money for clothes, you can cut back on some entertainment choices such as less going out, or a cheaper way to watch TV.

Get High-Quality Clothing on DealDash

DealDash often has high-quality clothing items up for auction. Personally, I have won some absolutely gorgeous sweaters for just a few dollars each. I kept one for myself and gave one to my sister-in-law for Christmas. In the store, these sweaters would easily be over a hundred dollars, but I got a great deal on DealDash!

DealDash Helps Your White Shoes Sparkle

DealDash

Keep those white shoes clean and sparkling. Let DealDash show you how.

Wearing shoes is a necessity. Many people like to wear different types of shoes, especially white shoes in the summer. When white shoes are clean, they often look very nice, but they can easily get dirty. You have to make sure that you keep your white shoes clean so they can remain stylish and white. White shoes are easy to clean. Here are 3 steps to clean white shoes, from DealDash.

Use Warm Water

You should fill a basin with some warm water to clean your shoes. Warm water will put less pressure on the color of your white shoes. It is important to use warm water, but you have to make sure that it is not too hot. You don’t want to burn your hands. Also be sure that the basin or wash tub is big enough to have enough water to clean the shoes. You don’t want to stop halfway through. You probably don’t want to use your sink for this.

Use Soap to Clean the Shoes

The next step is to get the dirt off of your shoes. Take a cloth and dip it into the water and add some soap. Rub the parts of the cloth that is soapy all over the white shoe. You don’t have to use any fancy soap. Dishwashing liquid or laundry detergent can easily make a lather and is perfect for cleaning shoes. Personally, I prefer the classic Dawn liquid dish soap, but choose one that you like and enjoy the scent.

Use a Brush

Using just soap is not always going to remove all of the stains on your white shoes. It is best to use a stiff bristle brush to scrub off the stains. You need to focus on the area of the stains that need to be removed. If you are not getting all of the stains off of your shoes, you can use a magic eraser or even toothpaste. The magic eraser is just perfect for the rubber parts of your white shoes. Give it a try!

Thanks for Reading

Cleaning your shoes can be a boring task, but if you want to keep them stylish, you have to clean them on a regular basis. It is important to rinse and dry the shoes after you are done cleaning them. Remember to let them dry and remove the shoelaces so that you can wash them in the dryer. These tips will help you keep your shoes clean so that you can keep your white shoes spotless.

I hope that this article has given you some good tips to get your white shoes clean. Thanks for reading the newest blog article. DealDash Helps: Volunteering Made Easy

DealDash

Have an urge to volunteer? Follow these easy tips from DealDash to get started.

Many people are interested in volunteering but aren’t exactly sure how to get started. Volunteering is a wonderful thing to do, it helps both your community and yourself at the same time. You always feel amazing after time spent helping others. Read on below for more information from DealDash.

Figure Out Where

Firstly, you’ll want to figure out where you want to volunteer. There are so many places right in your own community that would welcome your help. If you’re having trouble thinking of somewhere, here is a quick list of places you might want to consider:

  • An animal shelter
  • Your child’s school or PTA
  • A homeless shelter
  • A thrift/secondhand store (many benefit a cause, my local one donates to the animal shelter)
  • Your local park or nature preserve
  • A hospital

When Are You Available?

Next, you’ll want to figure out when you have time to volunteer. Can you only come sporadically or can you come weekly? Do you need a set or flexible schedule? Do you have the necessary criteria to volunteer? Some places, such as schools, will need you to have a CORI background check before you volunteer. Other places, such as the thrift store, do not have any such requirements.

After you have figured out when you have time to volunteer, see if the times you have available match up to the times at the place that you most want to volunteer. You might have to go through a few choices before you make a match.

For example, the place that I most wanted to volunteer was the NICU unit. They needed people to rock babies when the parents weren’t able to be there. Unfortunately, they required a commitment of 2 days per week for 6 months, which I just didn’t think that I could meet. Instead, I ended up volunteering at the library at my children’s school. The schedule is much more flexible and works with my lifestyle.

Sign Up, Show Up, and Feel Good

Finally, it’s time to make your choice and sign up as a volunteer. After you have made the big step in signing up, be sure that you show up at your assigned times. Trust me, after you have spent a session volunteering and helping others you will have a sunny new outlook on life. It feels good to help other people.

DealDash Helps: Buy Baby Clothing Online

DealDash

As a busy parent or grandparent, it makes sense to buy baby clothing online. Here are some tips and suggestion from DealDash.

Let’s face it, just about everyone thinks baby clothes are adorable. No matter if you are getting clothes for your baby or purchasing a present for someone having a baby soon, you can’t deny the appeal of baby clothes. But what should you know when you are purchasing baby clothes online? Here are some tips to help you make sure that you are making the right choices, from DealDash.

Think About the Season

First of all, you need to think about the season that the baby will be born in. This is important because you need to make sure that you are getting clothes that the baby will actually be able to use. So make sure you pay attention to the weather when it comes to purchasing baby clothes online. Spring, summer, fall, winter – there’s no wrong season to have a baby. Just make sure that you are buying the correct season of clothing!

Babies Grow Fast

Also, keep in mind that a baby grows very quickly. So you need to purchase baby clothes that are going to fit the baby’s current size. Nothing would be worse than to find a cute outfit for a baby to wear only to get it in a size the will not fit the baby. Additionally. if you find a baby outfit online that you think the parents would like to see their child in for some time then get the outfit in multiple sizes.

Buy Even Larger Sizes

Since you can find a lot of great deals online, you just might want to consider shopping ahead of time for the baby’s clothes. You would need to buy slightly larger clothes so that you know that you know that the clothes will fit at different times in the baby’s growth.

An excellent time to do this is right after Thanksgiving on “Cyber Monday.” Often many stores that you would typically shop at for baby clothes have amazing online sales. Unfortunately, though, many times these are out of season clothing. Do a little bit of simple math to figure out how old the baby will be when the season comes around, and buy that size of clothing.

Thanks for Reading

Shopping online is a great idea for those looking to purchase baby clothes as it is very convenient. You can have the clothing delivered right to your front door.  It’s the perfect option for those that are looking to avoid high-priced boutiques as well as those that might be too busy to get to a local store.

Autumn Outdoor Weddings with DealDash

DealDash

Autumn is here, and there are many weddings going on. Here are suggestions on how to dress to attend an outdoor autumn wedding, from DealDash.

Planning a wedding can be a daunting task.  Figuring out where to have your wedding can cause a lot of stress. Having a wedding outdoors is a great place to have a wedding.  You can choose different wedding themes and locations. Many people don’t know how to dress for a wedding that is outdoors. Here are some tips to share with your guests if you are having an outdoor wedding – or if you are going to be attending an outdoor wedding this fall. Most people get excited about dressing up for weddings, but you have to know how to dress for weddings that are outside. Here are some suggestions, from DealDash.

Figure Out the Weather

The most important thing you have to do when you are dressing for an outdoor wedding is to analyze the weather. It is important to wear warmer outfits for the fall and winter time.  If you are going to dance during the wedding, make sure you wear a shawl or a jacket.

Depending on where you live, sometimes the fall can be very rainy. Be sure to plan ahead and bring an umbrella for yourself and your date. The weather here in New England can have extremes from one end of the thermometer to the other. If you are going to be a guest at the wedding be sure to have a backup outfit planned if the weather doesn’t co-operate with your first choice.

Take into Consideration Location

The setting and location usually dictates what you are going to wear.  For example, if it is on a beach you will wear less formal attire.  A wedding at the beach will usually be breezy and windy so you may want to wear something that can handle those conditions. If you’re attending a beautiful autumn wedding at a park or garden be sure to pack a shawl or jacket, as it can be very breezy.

When in Doubt, Dress Up

It is important to understand that you should dress up instead of underdressing. The more dressed up you are, the better. It does not matter if the wedding is outdoors.  If you have a hard time picking out an outfit that is formal ask a friend or a family member for help.

Dressing up for a wedding can be really fun. Having a wedding outdoors is special, and you have to make sure that you wear the proper attire. You don’t want to be too cold or too hot. Keep these tips in mind, whether you’re the bride, groom, or simply a guest at an outdoor wedding this autumn.

DealDash Helps You Save on Kid’s Clothing

DealDash

Kids are expensive! Let DealDash help you think of ways to save money on your child’s clothing.

When you are a parent you will always be looking for ways to save money. One way you can save money when you have kids is looking for deals on the clothes that they will be wearing. There are several ways that you can save money on the clothes your kids wear. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Nothing Wrong With Second-Hand

You can look at second-hand shops to find clothes for your kids. Even if you just look for clothes for when they are doing sports or playing you can end up saving yourself a great deal of money. The great thing about second-hand stores is that you can often donate clothes to the store that do not fit your child anymore. This is a nice thing to do, you can help another family save money. Also, you can claim the donation on your taxes, saving you even more money.

You can often find brand new with tags kid’s clothing at the thrift shop, especially if your child is still a baby. Many people receive so many gifts of outfits at their baby shower or right after the baby is born. Sometimes they don’t even have time to wear them all before they don’t fit into them anymore.

Hand-Me-Downs are Better!

You can get clothes from friends or family. Hand-me-downs are a great way to save money of clothes for your child. Also, you can always return the favor once your child had outgrown the clothes that they were given. It’s a great situation for everyone that is involved. Unfortunately for me, I have both the oldest boy and the oldest girl in our extended family. I am always the hand-me-down giver instead of the receiver. However, it is very cute to see my younger nieces and nephews wearing the clothes that my kids wore when they were smaller.

Shop Those Sales

Simply looking for sales is a fantastic way to save money on the clothes that you need to purchase for your kids. You should also keep an eye out for coupons from your favorite stores and brands of specialty store kid’s clothing to fully maximize your savings. It can take a little work to do this however you will be very satisfied with the results.

“End of the Season” sales are an excellent way to get lots of clothing for very little money. Simply buy for the year ahead, and store them away until they’re needed. I try to do this every year and all of my children always have brand new, name brand clothing that I was able to get for a good deal.

DealDash – Simple Ways to Update Your Wardrobe

dealdash wardrobe update

Spring is almost here, and it’s the perfect time to update your wardrobe. Here are some tips and ideas from DealDash to get you started.

Updating your wardrobe doesn’t have to be a huge expense. A few little additions here and there can go a long way. Now that you’re updating your wardrobe it’s also an excellent time to get rid of old clothing that you’re not wearing anymore as well. There’s nothing like a little Spring cleaning in your closet to freshen up your wardrobe. Here are some top tips and ideas from DealDash for updating your wardrobe.

dealdash pantone Update Your Colors

According to Pantone, the color of 2017 is called “Greenery.” This color is a fresh and crisp color that reminds me of fresh green veggies and Springtime. If you need a little pop of color in your wardrobe, be sure to try Greenery. Here’s what Pantone has to say about their color of the year:

A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings. Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate. – Pantone

Try using greenery in your wardrobe to give it a fresh update. Try a new scarf, belt, or piece of fashion jewelry to liven things up. You never know, you might like the color so much that you’ll want to get a new purse to match!

Have a Clothing Swap With Friends

If you have a few friends of a similar size, why not invite them over for a clothing swap? Get out a bottle of wine, spread out all of the offerings, and make outfits for each other. It’s free, fun, and you’ll get that much-needed wardrobe update while having a nice time with friends. Your old clothing can get fresh use while giving you a few new to you pieces from your friends. Try it, it’s fun!

5 Things Out, 1 Thing In

Since you’re going through your closet anyway, it’s time to donate old clothing to the thrift store. Reward yourself with a new clothing item or accessory for every 5 things that you can find in your closet to donate. You’ll make some extra room in your closet and feel good about making a donation to the less fortunate.

DealDash Advises on Laundry Stain Removal

DEALDASH laundry stain removal

Washing your clothing is easy, but what about when there’s a tough stain? Here are some suggestions and tips for laundry stain removal from DealDash.

It’s happened to the best of us – you’re out to dinner and you get a drop of red wine, sauce, or other food stain on your brand new light-colored shirt. Or perhaps it wasn’t you, but one of your kids spilling something on your outfit when you’re out in public. You attempt to rub it off with a napkin, but it only gets worse. You aren’t headed back home for hours, are you doomed to have a stained outfit? Maybe – but maybe not! Read these helpful tips from DealDash for removing laundry stains from your clothing.

Ink

Did your or your husband get ink on your clothing at work? Or maybe it was the kids playing in the pen drawer! Is it possible to get out ink stains? Yep! Grab a can of hairspray! It might sound a little strange, but the alcohol in the spray will help to lift the ink from the fabric – apply directly onto the stain, leave on for 30 – 45 seconds, and wipe away with a damp cloth. Launder after.

Paint

It’s possible to get paint out of clothing, and luckily most paint that is marketed towards children is water-based (acrylic) This paint can be removed by rinsing the back of the stain with warm water. Next, wash in the machine with your regular laundry detergent.

Unfortunately, oil-based paint is a little bit trickier. First, check garment care label and do not attempt this method if your clothing is made from rayon, acetate or triacetate. Next, test on an inconspicuous area of the garment first. Be sure to wear rubber gloves. If this doesn’t work, take it to the dry cleaners. Maybe they will have better luck.

Blood

Small cuts and scrapes can result in tough blood stains. The trick here is to use cold water to rinse the affected garment – hot water will merely set the stain further. Try spraying or pouring on a little hydrogen peroxide before you rinse the garment in cold water. It should bubble away most of the blood.

Tomato Sauce / Ketchup

Amazingly,  lemons can help get rid of many red sauce stains. The acidity in the lemon juice works to cut through the oil – just rub a cut lemon over the stain before rinsing with water.

DealDash Saves Your Sweaters

DealDash Saves Sweaters Everyone who has accidentally ruined a sweater, raise your hand…I admit it, I have ruined quite a few sweaters before I learned how to care for them properly. Let DealDash help you save your sweaters.

If you’re wondering how to properly care for your sweaters, you’re in the right place. Now that we are in the cold wintry January weather I bet most of you have brought out your sweaters and are wearing them frequently. Sweaters are great! They are warm, cozy, comfortable, stylish, but also difficult to clean without ruining them. Here is a quick primer from DealDash on how to keep your sweaters in tip-top shape this winter so you can enjoy them again next winter.

Ditch the Pills

If you were to walk down the sweater aisle of your local thrift shop, you will see dozens upon dozens of perfectly good sweaters with a minor problem – pills! You can get rid of those pesky pills with either a battery operated fabric shaver, a  de- fuzzing comb, or even a razor! These little sweater-savers will eliminate your pills when they appear.

Don’t be alarmed at the pills – both high-quality and low-quality knits will almost always pill at some point. If you can get into a habit of de-fuzzing your sweaters as soon as they come out of storage for the season it will make your life go more smoothly. Once you’re done with the sweaters for the season give them a quick once-over with the de-fuzzer of your choice and pack them away. Easy!

Wash Them Carefully!

I never dry clean anything, and most sweaters say dry clean only. I purchased the Dryell at-home wash, but it’s really just easier to hand wash. The directions are simple, but make sure you do a little of research on the fabric content of your sweater before you do anything. Here are the easy directions for hand-washing your sweater:

  1. Starting with a clean sink, fill your sink up with water and add a mild detergent. They make special “sweater detergents,” but I personally just use a bit of Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo to wash mine.
  2. Being gentle, agitate any stains as well as the underarms with your hands, then let it soak for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Rinse thoroughly with cool water, then roll the sweater up in a bath towel to get most of the water out, but be sure not to wring it out.
  4. Lay the sweater flat to dry. Do not hang on a hanger to dry, this will distort the shoulders. Personal experience speaking here!

Fall is definitely my favorite season, and there are certain things that are especially great in fall. Here are some fall essentials that you should be without!

There’s a crisp fall smell in the air, a combination of fireplace smoke, the last lawn mowing of the year, and apple cider donuts. I love fall! No, I’m not talking about yard waste bags and rakes! These are fun fall essentials.

  • Pumpkin spice. I’m not ashamed, I love pumpkin spice everything, from muffins and coffee to candles and car air fresheners. If it’s pumpkin spice, it’s for me! Pumpkin spice coffee and lattes can really get you in a great mood for the cooler weather, and pumpkin spice candles can make your living room seem warm and inviting when you come in from the outdoors.
  • Fall decorations. There are so many great decorations that you can use in the fall, in October we have Halloween decorations, of course. And in November you can use harvest, leaves in baskets, Thanksgiving, and even put up your Christmas decorations Thanksgiving weekend! What better way to say Goodbye to fall than putting up the Christmas tree?

DealDash Cleans Out Those Closets

Image result for clean closet

You should be cleaning out your closets twice per year – once in the spring, and once in the fall. The fall is upon us, let’s clean!

It’s easy to let your closet get away from you, especially if you are a big shopper, like myself. If you are reading the DealDash entertainment shopping blog, then I am going to assume that you are a big shopper as well. I find myself picking up new clothing items for myself or my children on a weekly basis, I am a sucker for a great deal, and I will often buy things that are definitely not in season in order to save some money. Now is the time to get organized.

The first thing that you need to do is to take out all of the items in your closet that scream “SUMMER!!” these include bathing suits, swim cover ups, shorts, tank tops, and floppy hats. After you have removed all of the summer things, take a good look through them. Are there items that you don’t often wear, or you bought without trying on, and when you got home and tried them they just weren’t your style? Make 3 piles – keep, give to a friend, and donate.

The keep pile is easy, stick those keepers in some large Rubbermaid-style totes and pack them away in your attic, basement, or wherever you chose to store them. If you would like to keep them fresh and ready to go for next year, stick in a few of those cedar disks or even just a dryer sheet or two. Be sure to label your totes so you can find them easily when it’s time to put out the summer clothing again.

Next is the give to a friend pile. Do you have a friend who is your size that would enjoy your hand-me-downs? If you’re cleaning your child’s closet, do they have a cousin or other younger family member who would fit into their discarded clothing next summer? Why not bag them up and give them to your friend or family member? It’s an easy thing to do, and might make that person’s day a little brighter.

Lastly, is the donation pile. Anything that you aren’t planning on keeping, and have no one in your immediate friend or family circle that can use them, why not bag them up give them to your local charity shop? I personally prefer smaller, locally owned charity shops versus corporate ones, they tend to keep donated items in the community rather than shipping them out elsewhere, but that’s just my personal preference. Give your discarded clothing to whatever charity you feel comfortable giving them to, and enjoy that good karma!

Now that you have cleaned out your closet, why not reward yourself with a little entertainment shopping on DealDash? DealDash has everything that you might want for your home such as artwork, furniture, and kitchen supplies. DealDash also has gift cards, in case you don’t see exactly what you are looking for. DealDash Gives Travel Tips

Image result for travel

Most people enjoy travelling. Here are some handy tips for the next time you are able to get away for a long weekend or even a full vacation.

There are so many destinations out there that are just waiting to be explored. Travel is one hobby that is enjoyed by almost everyone – no matter what the age, from kid to grandparent and everyone in-between, most people love to get away for a holiday. I enjoy travel very much, and I have picked up quite a few handy tips over the years that might be able to help someone else. Here are some of my handy travel tips.

  • Be sure to pack all of your cords – phone cord, laptop cord, iPad cord, etc. If you are going somewhere overseas you might want to invest in a voltage converter.
  • Make as many sets of outfits as you are going to be at your destination, plus an extra one. Roll each outfit set with the undergarments and socks on the inside, and then stack your outfit tubes in your luggage. It saves space as well as time. And because they are rolled instead of folded they will have less wrinkles when you unpack them.
  • Always remember to bring your toothbrush & toothpaste, your prescription medications, your deodorant, and your PJs.If you are travelling in the USA or Canada it is very likely that you will be able to go to a store and buy anything that you might have forgotten, but don’t count on it. Double-check your packing before you close up your suitcase.
  • If you are travelling outside of the USA or Canada, be sure to pack some personal tissue packs and/or travel baby wipes. Many places outside of North America don’t offer free toilet paper in public restrooms. When I was travelling in Beijing there were often people selling small packs of toilet paper outside of public restrooms near tourist attractions.
  • Call your bank and credit card company before you leave and put a travel alert on your accounts. Also, be sure to jot down their international customer service number in case you run into trouble while you are away.
  • Pack a hat and sunblock, even if you aren’t going to the beach or somewhere traditionally “outdoorsy.” Chances are you will be doing a lot of walking if you are a tourist, and will get a lot more sun than you normally do – so wear your SPF and hat, please!

I hope that you found some of these tips helpful for the next time you travel. If you’re looking for luggage or any other travel supplies be sure to check out DealDash. DealDash has everything you need to make your trip great – from digital cameras to luggage. Just click this link to visit DealDash and see how much you can save. clothes

Some will hold up well throughout the years and others will certainly be ruined after one clean. Taking the time to recognize your fabrics will certainly save you a bunch of money and also stress level. With the proper care and storage, like in one of the containers or cabinets found on DealDash you can count on your clothes staying nice longer.

Polyester and Nylon

These artificial polymers do not require a bunch of upkeep. All you need to do to maintain these garments clean and nice is toss them in the clean. Nylon has the tendency to crease rapidly, so set your clothes dryer to permanent press and suspended your garments quickly after. You can find several cabinets to store your garments in on DealDash. The fibers in polyester as well as nylon are unbelievably durable so when it pertains to over washing, these textiles are the least of your worries.

Cotton

This textile is considered as being the most breathable, able to take in and also release sweating. Sometimes cotton garments need to be ironed or pressed and you can find those things on DealDash.  Like nylon, cotton has the potential to line so ironing regularly is advised. Make sure to eliminate any kind of stains prior to ironing, as the warmth will establish it in place completely. Perhaps the most significant feature of cotton is that it shrinks after the initial wash, however you must likewise know that cotton fades conveniently too, so take care to air-dry your darker garments.

Woollen

Wool is notoriously durable, which is why it is one of the most preferred textiles to put on during wintertime. The fibers could in fact absorb moisture without feeling moist as well as are rather resistant to filth and also creasing. Obviously eventually even woollen needs to be cleansed as well as the majority of tags recommend you to dry clean just. If completely dry tidy isn’t really a choice, washing wool in cold water on a delicate cycle may be okay or else let it vapor in your bathroom after you’ve showered. Drying out wool will cause a contracted disaster. DO NOT DRY! And if you need to find some good items to store your clothes in, go to DealDash right away.

Viscose and Rayon

These materials may be one in the same, I’m not entirely sure, however they are as usual a fabric as cotton due to the fact that they as well share that exact same breathability. Viscose/Rayon are quite delicate and also require hand cleaning due to their propensity to tear. They are also really vulnerable to shrinking so understand that you will have to iron these before every usage.

clothes

Silk

This all-natural fiber, having the very best back-story of all the textiles because it generated by pests, is both fragile and resilient. If silk is well cared for it can last for many years as well as years. Feel in one’s bones that the majority of silk garments require nothing less than completely dry cleaning. They are additionally quite prone to stretching as they hold hardly any suppleness. And now that you have an idea of how to care for all your clothes, head on into DealDash to see if you can find anything to store them in.
