DealDash

As a DealDash shopper, you are most likely a fan of saving money. Here are some great tips to save money the next time you go to the supermarket.

Super Tips to Save on Food

1. Don’t shop hungry.

When you are starving, never ever go to the supermarket. When we are famished our state of mind adjustments, we make negative choices. Sadly, we often wind up buying a basket packed with chips, cookies, and ice cream. In other words, foods loaded with sugar and fats. These foods are not only bad for your health, but also your wallet. These foods cost much more per serving than healthy, homemade foods.

2. Bulk is best.

When you have a chance, purchase in mass! When you see a bargain as well as items you want in the future, Supply up. Your pantry will be filled with canned and dry goods and will save you money as well as time since you won’t need to shop as often.

3. Pay attention to use-by dates.

When you buy new food at the store check the use-by dates to be sure they are far enough in the future. When you put your foods away in the pantry be sure to put the oldest foods in the front. This will decrease your food waste and save you money as well as being environmentally friendly.

4.  Look around!

Do not simply depend on that your neighborhood warehouse store has the most effective bargains. Be sure to venture out there and check prices elsewhere. Huge chains are usually extremely affordable with their rates as well. Comparison shopping is essential for saving money.

5. Make a list.

Produce a checklist of the most common items you purchase weekly and price them out in your neighborhood shops. These items might be the best ones to purchase in bulk as long as they can be safely stored in the pantry or freezer.

6. Do weekly meal prep.

Look for very easy to prepare foods that you are able to freeze into meal portions. Weekly meal prepping could conserve you time and money in the future. Some ideas might be lasagna, breakfast bowls, or chicken and rice meals.

7. Shop local for meat.

Seek out a regional butcher to purchase non-pre-packaged meat. It’s typically less expensive and also higher quality compared to a supermarket deli counter. Many of these shops will also do price matching, so you can get better meat at the same price as at the supermarket.

8. Shop in season.

Purchase the veggies you like when they are in season. When they are numerous and plentiful, veggies will be put on sale at the store. Many of these fruits and veggies can be frozen as well for use later on when they aren’t in season and are more expensive.

9. Grow your own.

Plant a natural herb garden! This is a fantastic leisure activity that will save you money. It will certainly offer you a nearly limitless supply of herbs. You can usually grow these items inside, many people like to keep mini herb gardens on their kitchen window sill.

10. Loyalty programs save money.

Sign up with supermarket discount card programs and also register for VIP cards. You should do this at any place you can from the supermarket to the pharmacy and beyond.

DealDash Kids: Pack a Nutritious and Delicious Lunch

DealDash

Packing your kids a great school lunch is very important. It is the energy they need to finish out the school day. Here are some tips from DealDash to help you get started.

Packing a great school lunch for your child can be a daunting task. You need to make sure to pack something your child is actually going to eat. Here are some tips to keep in mind when Packing a lunch for your kids, from DealDash.

Pack the Correct Amount of Food

You need to make sure to pack the right amount of food for your child. All the while making sure that it is healthy for them. You need to make the food fun, especially if you are packing a lunch for a younger child. Create funny faces on a sandwich or think of some creative way to display their food. You will see that they will be much more apt to eat whatever you have packed for them. Personally, I like to use cookie cutters to cut out sandwiches for my daughter. They also have pre-made sandwich cutters as well, but cookie cutters work just as well.

Save Money on Healthy Lunches

Packing a great lunch does not need to be expensive. If you plan correctly you can pack a healthy meal for your kids without having to spend a great deal of money. For example, if your child is a fan of last night’s dinner think about how you can attractively pack leftovers for them. Also, stock up when you are able on your child’s favorite foods that you can include in their lunch.

For example, my daughter absolutely loves salad. Today I chopped up 2 heads of lettuce, washed it, and now it’s waiting to be portioned out each day for her lunch. After I add in tomatoes, cucumbers, and a little container of dressing I will spend about .50 per salad. That’s a great bargain compared to how much it would be to purchase a salad from school each day!

Don’t Forget a Note Now and Then

Packing a great school lunch is not always about the food. You can use preparing their lunch as a bonding experience. Leave them encouraging notes or funny pictures, or just about anything that will help you connect with your child while you are apart.

Check DealDash For Kitchen Tools

If you need a little help preparing your child’s school lunch, no problem! DealDash is here to help with a variety of kitchen tools up for auction. You can find things like knives, small appliances, and even kitchen scales. Just click here to visit the Kitchen and Dining category on DealDash.

Thanks for Reading

As you can see, it is simpler to pack a great school lunch for your child than you might have thought. You can even get your child involved in the planning process for their lunch so you know that they will be happy with whatever is put in their lunch bag. This way you know that your child will have a good meal which will help them do their very best in school.

DealDash Kids: Tips to Make the Most of the School Year

DEALDASH BACK TO SCHOOL

By this time your child should have already started school or will be starting next week. Here are some tips to help them make the most of the school year.

It’s important for kids of all ages to have a great school year. However, sometimes it is very difficult for younger kids to have a great school year. These kids are complete “newbies” at knowing what to expect from school. Here are some tips to help younger kids get settled and more familiar with what they should do to help themselves have a fun and educational school year. Read on for more information from DealDash.

It’s Okay to Not Know Anyone

Remember, a stranger is “just a friend we haven’t met yet.” If this is your child’s first year at school or if they just don’t know anyone in their class this year, then this is an important thing to tell them. If they don’t know anyone in their classroom this year, that just means that they have even more of a chance to meet their new BFF.

Just Be Yourself

Kids as young as 5 will be in classes this year, and surprisingly even kids this age are worried about fitting in. I have 2 school-aged kids and volunteer in their elementary school. Sadly, I have heard many comments from very young kids that they are worried that people won’t like them. They are worried about the clothing that they are wearing and not having as many toys and gadgets as their classmates. It important to help your kids realize that the superficial stuff isn’t going to help your kids make true friends. and that a real friend will like you no matter what brand of shoes that you are wearing.

Don’t Be Afraid to Be Smart

Try to impart to your kids that being smart is a good thing. They might see things on TV or online showing smart kids to be “nerdy” or “uncool”. However, the kids who listen and do well in school get to do their dream jobs when they are older. No matter if they want to be an astronaut, a paleontologist, or a veterinarian, all of these careers require a lot of brains and doing well in school. This all comes back to just being yourself. Tell them to be curious, pay attention, and do well in school to be able to grow up and do their dream job.

DealDash Couponing Made Easy

DealDash

Do you always use coupons? I know I do! Here are some suggestions from DealDash to ensure couponing will proceed much more efficiently when you do your weekly grocery shopping.

Lots of people nowadays are trying to find methods to extend their weekly earnings to ensure that they have the ability to do activities such as paying for food shopping all week or even eating at restaurants weekly. Utilizing coupons is a fantastic method to be able to conserve cash on the products that you are currently buying. Specifically speaking, the foods that you buy each month. Here are a few techniques to have the finest possible experience when you begin couponing, from DealDash.

Determine Your Own Way of Doing Things

You must establish a system that will work for you. There are numerous recommendations available of what is the ideal system for dealing with coupons. However, you have to make certain that you choose an organizational technique that is going to be simple for you. If it’s not simple and easy you probably won’t do it!

You should plan to sort your coupons during the same occasion every week. Personally, I recommend an accordion-style collapsable purse to keep your coupons in. Other individuals choose folders or perhaps merely an envelope. Use what works most effectively when it comes to yourself. Some supermarkets sell these at the checkout stand.

Do Away with the Out Of Date Ones

You will additionally wish to expunge expired discount coupons from your assortment weekly. By doing this you do not run the risk of depending on cost savings which you are actually not going to have the ability to obtain. You have to ensure that you are always utilizing coupons which are definitely within their expiry date. Furthermore, to be able to completely take full advantage of your cost savings you have to stay clear of impulse buying as well as just purchasing what you require. If you buy things you do not need you are going to end up spending more and not saving money. This isn’t your goal!

Get to know the Rules at Your Preferred Shop

Whenever anyone is just beginning with discount coupons they should begin with their local supermarket. Learn everything you can regarding the store’s discount coupon protocol and learn ways to pair discount coupons with sales that the shop may be featuring. You will quickly establish a plan that will help you in relation to using coupons, This is so you can easily use it at other establishments for other products that you need to buy. You can move on to other stores once you have mastered your local grocery store. Attempt to just try it one store at a time so you don’t get the coupon protocols mixed up. Some of the rules can be a little confusing and arbitrary.

DealDash Kids: It’s Still Hot, Keep Your Kids Busy

DealDash

It might be almost time (or already time!) for your kids to be back at school. It’s still quite hot in many areas. Here are some ideas to keep the kids busy while it’s still hot out, from DealDash.

It isn’t really always all that easy to keep the kids busy all summer season long, and the entertainment doesn’t even stop when they return to school. There are still many hours per day after school and on weekends where you will often hear a chorus of “I’m BORED!”. This is especially true on very hot days, the days when the kids enter the house 5 minutes after you send them out, grumbling “it’s too hot outside!” What can you do to keep them busy, other than letting them watch YouTube videos or play computer games? Plenty! Read on for more information from DealDash.

Make Popsicles

To start with, have some inexpensive, cool treats on hand. Homemade popsicles do not cost much and serve a dual purpose. The kids can help you make them which will take up a little time, and then they can enjoy eating them later on.

However, they do tend to be messy. Simply send the kids outside to restrict the mess. This idea might only keep the kids out for a brief time, but as any parent knows, 15 minutes of silence can be a breath of fresh air.

Send Them Out in Late Afternoon

Let the kids outside to play in the later afternoon, when it’s cooler outside. This works well if your kids are already back to school. They can come home, have a snack, do their homework, and then go outside to play before dinner.

Board Games, Not Video Games

Aim to keep tv watching/video game playing under 2 hours a day total. If your kids like to play games then board games work very well. Of course, this depends on the ages of your kids. My daughter is 6 years old, and just starting to enjoy easier board games like “Trouble” and “Kid’s Monopoly”. There’s nothing wrong with video games in moderation, of course. Every kid should get to play something they enjoy, hopefully, they will choose outdoor play sometimes.

Provide Fun Toys Outside from DealDash

Kids will definitely want to go outside and play if there are fun toys out there. Be sure to check DealDash for some great outdoor items. DealDash has bikes and basketball hoops and other fun sports equipment they can use outdoors.

Thanks for Reading

There are so many great reasons as to why you should encourage your kids to play outside daily, even if it’s hot. They can really benefit from the outdoor play. Use these ideas to tempt them into outdoor play each day.

DealDash Health: Make a First Aid Kit for Home

DealDash

Having a first aid kit on hand for your family is very important. Here is a quick primer on how to make one up for your home, car, or to keep on hand. Read on for more information from DealDash.

It’s a little scary to think about, but mishaps and medical emergency situations in the home take place regularly. It happens even more frequently than you might realize. Statistics have shown that injuries occur about every 4 seconds in the American home. These accidents vary and can occur from many different sources from cuts to burns and more. Each and every home needs to have at least one first Aid Kit that is well stocked and easily on hand. You might also want to consider making another first aid kit for your car, and a mini one for your purse or backpack. DealDash has you covered.

Where Should You Keep the Supplies

Firstly, you need a vessel to keep the items in. You can buy a box or bag that says “First Aid” or you can use something that you already have. Make sure you save your First Aid Kit in a carry bag or plastic container that will keep your kit tidy and dry and easily accessible in your house. Just be sure to mark it very carefully with the words “FIRST AID” so everyone knows what’s inside.

You will also need to designate a place to keep your kit. The kit is typically kept in the bathroom, but you could also keep it in the kitchen or anywhere else that is close at hand.

What is it Used For?

First aid kits for the home are used most typically for small injuries such as cuts, sunburns, small cooking burns, or bug or animal bites. Having a well-stocked first aid kit can mean the difference between having to take a trip to the doctor or clinic right away or be able to take care of things at home.

What Should Go Inside?

However, the First Aid Kit will not be any use to you if you don’t know how to utilize it properly. Make certain you have a guidebook or pamphlet in your first aid kit from a reliable source such as your doctor’s office. It must have the latest medical guidance and be simple to read, particularly under tension. Here is a short list of things that should be inside your kit:

  • Pointed tweezers for removing splinters
  • Disposable latex or non-latex gloves
  • Small rounded-tipped scissors for cutting medical tape
  • Band-Aids
  • Breathing Barrier for carrying out CPR
  • Thermometer-either digital or mercury – if you choose digital you should keep an extra battery in the kit as well.
  • Ice Bag
  • Eye Patches
  • Oral (without needle) syringe for liquid medications
  • Medicines  – Including Non-prescription medicines such as antihistamine cough suppressant, aspirin, ibuprofen, syrup of ipecac in case somebody consumes toxin. This need to only be utilized after calling the Poison Control Center first. Also, you should include any prescription medications that any family members take as well as a paper copy of the prescriptions.
  • A range of all sizes of gauze to dress a variety of injuries. This includes wrapped sterile gauze pads 2″ X 2″ non-stick gauze bandages, sterile gauze pads 4″ X 4″ , and One roll 2″ gauze
  • Medical tape
  • Bactericides such as Hydrogen Peroxide, witch hazel, or alcohol to kill germs.
  • Anti-bacterial cream or ointment. This is good for cuts, scrapes and insect bites.

Keep It Current

Your First Aid Kit should be inspected once each year, possibly the very same day you inspect your smoke alarm. You will want to be sure it is fully stocked. Make certain you always make a note of anything you utilize out of your Kit so it can easily be replaced. This is a great time to check the expiration dates on all medications and be sure that any paper prescriptions are still current.

Thanks for Reading

You will feel much better once you have your first aid kit all made up and installed in its new home. You should also consider making up one for your car, boat, or anywhere else that you spend a lot of time.

Thanks so much for reading this DealDash article on making up a first aid kit. Don’t forget to check back every day for new articles here. Also read our sister blog, DealDash Tips. We love to hear from our readers, just leave a comment down below.

Also, you can even get more creative with the dough and add some food coloring for a little color. The sculptures can be air dried when you are done, and they make great gifts to give to loved ones.

This is an excellent craft to do when we are getting closer to Christmas, as they make excellent tree ornaments. Try using cookie cutters to make shapes in the dough.

Painting with Stickers

Setting little kids loose with stickers and markers can be a simple way for them to have a great time creating something fun. You can tailor the stickers that you get to each child so that they can personalize their artwork. You can give them anything from notebook paper to poster board to work on in order to create their art. If you like, you can draw an outline of a simple picture in markers that they can fill in with stickers, such as a tree or flower.

DealDash Cooks: Once-A-Month Cooking Planning Tips

DealDash

If you have a busy lifestyle, then once-a-month cooking could be an excellent solution for you. Here are some suggestions from DealDash.

When you are planning meals, especially for a large family, you will need to look into once-a-month cooking. When you have decided to take part in once-a-month cooking you need to develop a plan to make sure everything goes like you want it to so here are a few tips to help your plan work, from DealDash.

Make a Plan and a List

When you are going to be doing once a month cooking you need to start meal planning immediately. You need to think about the things that your family is going to want to eat and plan accordingly. This will also give you the opportunity to create a grocery list and look for sales and coupons that you can use to save money on all of food that you will be buying.

Set Aside a Day

Once you have all of your ingredients for once a month cooking purchased you’re going to start developing a plan for the day that you are going to spend cooking.  It is important that you start as early in the day as possible. You are going to be doing a lot of cooking in the short amount of time. You want to create a plan for preparing everything so you can get the food prepared in a reasonable amount of time.

Who Will Help You?

You will also want to enlist help in preparing the food for once a month cooking. It will be a considerable amount of work to do on your own. By finding someone to help you it would be possible to get things done in the most faster time frame.

Don’t overlook any sources of help available, even Elementary school-age children can wash and (carefully!) peel vegetables. One of my 6-year-old daughter’s favorite kitchen activity is to help me prepare asparagus by cutting off the ends with my kitchen scissors. If your child is responsible and careful enough to use scissors to cut paper then they should be able to use kitchen scissors with your supervision.

Thanks for Reading

Advanced planning is one of the most important things that you can do to help your once-a-month cooking to go as planned. So if you want to do once-a-month cooking make sure you have a solid plan in place.

DealDash Helps Your Child Get Over Test Anxiety

DealDash

For many kids, school is open, or will be very soon. With school comes tests, and with tests can come anxiety. DealDash has some tips to help.

With school back in session, your child will soon be taking tests. Unfortunately for many kids tests bring about a huge amount of anxiety. There are a variety of reasons why kids suffer from test anxiety so you want to help them as soon as you discover the issue. Here are some ways to help ease test anxiety in your children, from DealDash.

What’s the Problem?

You should try to determine exactly what is causing the anxiety to happen. Are they simply afraid of getting a bad grade on a test? Or are they thinking farther ahead and feeling like they will not get the career that they want with a bad test grade? You need to find out exactly what is bothering them so you know how to best help them. With younger kids, sometimes the reassurance that “doing their best” is all that you need can take away some of that anxiety.

Just Relax!

Helping your child relax is something that you can do to help ease test anxiety. There are many things that you can do to accomplish this for your child. You can enjoy a snack with them and talk, watch a favorite television show and even offer to help them study. Anything you can think of doing would be helpful. Another great way to help your child relax is to color with them. Some of the adult coloring books they have out now are great for all ages and are very relaxing.

Get Help From Teacher

Getting the teacher involved may also be required if you can’t take care of things at home. They may have resources that you can make use of in order to ease anxiety in your child. It might just be nice to have the extra support for your child. They may be able to make some accommodations for your child when it is time to take a test to make things less stressful for them. Your child’s teacher can also steer you in the direction of the school counselor if your child needs it.

Thanks for Reading

School can be difficult for kids so if they are having test anxiety you want to offer as much help as possible. This way they will be able to focus better and hopefully do well on the tests that they will be taking this school year.

DealDash is ready, willing, and able to help your kids transition back to school by having auctions for school items. You’ll find laptops, desks, desktop computers, and iPads for auction.

DealDash Crafts Kid’s Picture Frames

DealDash

Making a picture frame with your kids is a fun craft to do together. Here are some tips to make a variety of different frames, from DealDash.

If you are looking for a fun craft to do with your children you will want to consider a picture frame craft. A picture frame craft can be done very inexpensively and there are a variety of different things that you can do. Here are a few ideas to get you started, from DealDash.

Old CD Picture Frame

First, you can take a picture of your child and attach it to a CD that you are not using any more. The CD can be decorated with things like stickers. It makes a bright and shiny picture frame craft to enjoy. If you have a lot of old CDs, then you can make a lovely collage of picture frame CDs.

Crafty Polymer Clay Frame

Another way to get really creative you can help your child make a picture frame out of polymer clay. You can really do a lot with this crafting clay like make flowers or other embellishments for the frame, too. Once it dries you are ready to enjoy your frame. Most of the popular brands of clay need to be baked in the oven. Also, be sure that you are available to help your kids with this part of the craft.

All Natural Frame

Next, if your child enjoys nature-themed crafts you can make a nature-inspired frame by gluing things like pine cones, shells, and also small pebbles to a sturdy frame. It would really make a lovely decoration and your child will have fun hunting around outside to find everything for their frame.

Yarn Wrapped Frame

If you enjoy crafting with yarn and fibers you can make a nicely designed frame. Just take a ball of yarn and wrap it around a cardboard picture frame until the frame is completely wrapped. It can really make a run and funky looking frame if you use different colors and types of yarn.

Playful Toy Frame

Finally, another cool idea would be to take things small doll or action figure accessories and glue them to a frame. You can tailor what you use to the child making the picture frame craft to make it really personalized. Also, it would be fun to make a frame each year decorated with whatever they are really into that year such as dinosaurs, horses, etc. Don’t forget to put the year so you can look back fondly when they get older.

Thanks for Reading

Finally, picture frame crafts can be a lot of fun to do. So when you are looking for something new to do with your kids definitely consider a picture frame craft. They are the perfect way to display your favorite pictures.

Also, if you need any crafting supplies including picture frames, glue, or yarn you can get them online at a big box store such as Wal-Mart. DealDash has gift cards to Wal-Mart which is an excellent place to get your crafting supplies.

DealDash Cooks: The Benefit of Home-Cooked Meals

dealdash

There are many advantages to cooking your meals at home instead of eating at restaurants. Here are a few, from DealDash.

Everyone seems to be in a hurry these days. From work to school and other activities it can seem like life just doesn’t slow down. This feeling doesn’t leave a lot of room for making a home-cooked meal. Here are some of the benefits of taking the time to make a meal from scratch, from DealDash.

Think of Your Health

It is much healthier to cook from scratch. You will be avoiding processed foods and will be in complete control of what you are your family are eating. It really doesn’t take a whole lot more time to shop for fruits and vegetables than it does for foods that come in a box. You don’t have to worry about having to take extra time shopping to make healthy selections.

Your Wallet Will Thank You

Home-cooked meals can save you money. For one, you won’t be filling up on empty calories where you will be hungry a couple hours later. You will also likely have leftovers that can be turned into lunch the next day. Again, it doesn’t take too much more prep work to prepare a home-cooked meal. You can use your extra time if you like to look for sales and use coupons to further maximize your savings.

Family Time Matters

Home-cooked meals bring families together. You can enjoy conversation around the dinner table and not in front of the TV. With fast food selections, you eat almost as fast as the time you spent buying the food. There is no bonding being done. The preparation of the food itself can also be a great way for you to bond with your family.

Thanks for Reading

As you can see there are some great benefits to preparing home-cooked meals. So next time you are writing your grocery list consider cooking from scratch. You will be very happy that you did.

DealDash Kids: Why They Need a Home-Packed Lunch

DealDash

Your kids might ask to buy lunch at school, but sending them with a home-packed lunch is much better. Here are the reasons why, from DealDash.

Now that kids are starting or soon to starting back to school soon you need to start thinking about school lunches. There really are some nice advantages of packing a school lunch for your child including some of the following reasons, from DealDash.

Save (Lots) of Money

Packing your child’s lunch can end up saving you money. School lunches can get to be expensive especially if you have more than one child in school. When you pack your child their own lunch you can take time to plan and get the things that you need. All without things becoming incredibly expensive. You can also make use of coupons and sales to further maximize your savings for school lunch supplies.

For example, I have two kids who go to the same elementary school. Lunch is $2.50 per child, which doesn’t sound like much, but at $5 per day, $25 per week, and $100 per month for two kids, that’s a lot! I can pack them both a sandwich, fruit, crackers, and fruit snacks for about $3 per day for both of them. That’s only $60 per month compared to $100! Not only am I saving $40 per month, it’s more filling and healthy than a school lunch.

Speaking of Healthy…

You can help to ensure that you are feeding your kids a healthy lunch when you pack them their own lunch. You can decide exactly what they are going to eat so you know that they are eating healthy at school. This is also important if your child has any type of food allergies so you can be safe in knowing what they are eating at lunch is safe for them.

My own daughter has a food allergy to a particular food dye. It might be simple to avoid peanuts in a meal, but avoiding certain numbers and colors of food dye is much harder. This is another reason why I pack her a lunch every day.

Let Your Child Have Some Input on Lunch

Packing your child’s lunch can also be a great way to bond with your child as they can be included in the lunch making process. Apple or banana, ham or turkey, fruit snacks or Jello – there are many choices that your child can assist you with when they make their lunch.

Let Them Know You’re Thinking of Them

You can also do fun things like leaving encouraging notes in your child’s lunch. This can be a great pick me up for your child during the school day. This can be especially important for you and your child if you are a very busy family.

DealDash Has a Multi-Generational Picnic

dealdash

The summer is winding down, but there is still plenty of time to have a family picnic. Don’t forget to invite your elderly relatives! Here are some tips for including everyone in your family, from DealDash.

With the nice summer weather still upon us, you will likely be thinking of something fun to do with your family. One thing that would be a great deal of fun is going on a family picnic. This is a great activity that includes everyone from the youngest toddler to the oldest grandparent. Here are some tips for planning a great family picnic, from DealDash.

Who’s Coming to the Picnic?

You will first need to decide who all is going to be going to your picnic. This is important so you will be able to figure out how much food to prepare and how many supplies like paper plates and utensils that you will need to bring. This way you know you will have enough of everything for the picnic.

Prepare the Food According to Who is Coming

Next you will want to decide what to prepare for the picnic. You will want to try and make offerings that everyone is going to enjoy as well as being able to eat. Again, getting a head count of people coming to the picnic will assist you in being able to know exactly how much food you need to prepare for the picnic.

If you have toddlers or other picky children coming you might want to adjust your menu to have a few offerings for them. Personally, I know of a few kids (not mine!) who strictly eat chicken nuggets and fruit, so if you have a family member coming that is similar, make sure that there is something for them to eat.

Choose a Location

You will also need to find a place to have the picnic. Will you have it in your backyard or are your planning on going somewhere like a park to enjoy a day out with your family? If you are going somewhere other than your own home you will want to make sure you have paid any required fees for enjoying the space.

Additionally, if you are having family join you that are very young or very old it can help determine where you have your picnic as well. Having a picnic site that you have to hike to get to, or having a picnic directly on the beach sand might be impossible with a baby or elderly family member.

Invite the Family Early

Make sure that you invite everyone that you want to come to the picnic with enough time for them to reply. This way you will have the best chance of everyone being able to come to your family picnic. This is especially important if you have an elderly family member that lives in an assisted living facility. You will need to make sure of the days and times that you will be able to sign them out that won’t conflict with their schedule.

Thanks for Reading

So there you go, that is pretty much all there is to planning a family picnic to include everyone. You are going to find that planning in advance is going to help your picnic go a lot more smoothly than if you were to have done no planning at all.

School either has started or will be starting soon. Parents want to be sure to help their kids make the transition back to school as successful as possible. Here are some tips to help make the start of the school year as successful as possible for your children, from DealDash.

Ease Their Fears

You want to take the time to help calm any fears that your child may be having with going back to school. If you have younger kids or kids entering high school you may want to take them to see the school possibly at an open house so your child can get used to their new surroundings. Being able to see where they will be spending their time while in school can go far in calming any jitters that they might be having about heading back to school.

Get Back Into a Routine

Make sure they get back into a morning school routine. This will be extremely helping in making sure the back to school transition goes smoothly. You need to start their morning school routine about one to two weeks before they are ready to head back to school. It will make things much simpler for everyone when it comes to getting ready in the morning.

Cut Down on Screen Time

You will also want to consider monitoring time on electronics for your kids. With school starting you want your kids to concentrate on their school work and not their electronics so limit their electronics time during the school week. While you kids may not be happy with you it will show to be very beneficial when it comes to their school work.

Make Sure They Have Supplies – Check DealDash

Finally, be sure that they have the school supplies they need. Even kids as young as Kindergarten sometimes need a computer or tablet to do school work. Get a list of which school supplies your kids need from their teacher and be sure that they have everything on the list. Check DealDash if you need any electronics or gift cards.

Thanks for Reading

DealDash Home: Reorganize a Small Bathroom

dealdash

Having a small bathroom can be a tricky problem. However, with good organization, you can make it work for your family. Here are some tips and tricks from DealDash to help.

Small, cramped bathrooms with little space and lots of stuff can present big problems. This is especially true for a busy family. With items strewn across the bathroom countertop with no designated space make it difficult to find exactly what you’re looking for. This can be a disaster when morning routine time is at a minimum. You can conquer this problem with an honest assessment of your bathroom’s contents and some creativity. Read on for some helpful ideas from DealDash.

Get Rid of Excess

For starters, look around your tiny bathroom. If you have products in your bathroom that you didn’t like after the first use, or that someone who previously visited left there and your family doesn’t use, get rid of them. This can be a little distressing if you focus on the money that you spent on buying it. However, if it’s taking up valuable space in your cramped bathroom quarters, it’s costing you more in stress than it’s worth.

You’ll probably be amazed at how much space you can free up by clearing out these unused, unwanted items. I find that makeup and sample-sized products are the worst offenders in my bathroom. How about yours?

What’s Left?

Next, after you’ve cleared these items out, assess what’s left. If there’s a drawer for makeup, but nothing in it is sorted, consider some small boxes or baskets to place them in. DealDash can help if you need home organization items.

Place lipsticks and glosses in one bin, another for makeup compacts, and another for makeup applicators such as brushes and sponges. If you and your family don’t use these items you will have a much quicker time, as these items take a while to sort.

If there are a lot of hair products, consider using a larger basket to place them in. You can store this container under the sink which can be easily removed and put away each morning. This can be very helpful if more than one person in your family has long hair and each has their own hair dryer, flat iron, curler, etc. Check DealDash to see their Fashion, Health, and Beauty products.

Use Your Pantry

Are you in the habit of stocking up on products you seem to go through quickly such as toilet paper, lotion, or toothpaste? If yes, then consider storing those in a pantry or linen closet instead of in the bathroom itself.

Make sure all family members know where to look for a replacement or refill should they run out. This is especially important when it comes to toilet paper! In my family, we store all of the paper products in one bathroom closet and all of the other replacement items such as shampoo and toothpaste in our second bathroom’s closet. This makes taking stock of our items before we go shopping much easier.

Get Everyone on Board

Finally, and most importantly, get your family to agree on using and maintaining the organization system that you have created. It’ll do no good to organize only to find things disheveled and unorganized the following week. You should also ask for input when devising a system. You will all want to be on the same page and make sure it’s one that everyone involved can live with. Don’t forget to ask your kids as well. When kids are allowed to give their ideas and input they are much more likely to take part in the organization process.

Thanks for Reading

Organizing your small bathroom can seem like a lot of work. However, if you do some planning you’ll see that it won’t be very difficult or take a lot of time. Be sure to get your family involved as it will be a lot less work for yourself if everyone pitches in.

DealDash Quick and Easy Home Organization

DealDash

Everyone wants to live in a clean and organized home. Sometimes it can be hard to get started. Here are some tips from DealDash to help you.

Organizing your home can seem like a daunting task. However, is definitely something that you and your family should get on board with doing.  Here are some tips that will help you in getting your home organized, from DealDash.

What are Your Unique Needs?

You want to create a standard of your own as far as what is organized in your home.  Just because a room is completely clean doesn’t mean that it is organized. You need to come up with a standard of organization that works for you and your unique needs. Don’t worry if everything isn’t as perfect as in a magazine. You need to figure out what works best for you and your family.

Strive for “Great” and not “Perfect”

You should certainly strive to not be going for perfection when it comes to having an organized house.  Sure, you may see pictures of houses that look completely organized however this is really not a realistic representation of an organized home.  Just remember that you need to set your standard for organization. Keep in mind that this will be completely different depending on if you have kids or pets, or if you live alone or with another adult. It all just depends on your own personal situation.

Make a Plan

You need to consider grouping like tasks together.  Make a list of the things that you need to do during the day and group other things you can do easily at the same time.  That will make things a lot easier when it comes to keeping your house clean and organized.

Be Proactive

Another thing you’re to keep in mind to keep your house organized is to make sure you are being proactive to reduce the amount of clutter that’s in your home. You want to make sure you’re not just buying something simply to buy it. Make sure that you’re going to use it and love it so that it will not be cluttering up your home.

Thanks for Reading

Organizing your house can seem like a lot of work. However, if you do some planning you’ll see that it will be a much easier task than you first imagined. It is best to also work on getting your family involved as it will be a lot simpler to keep your home organized if everyone pitches in.

DealDash Family Vacation and Travel Tips

DealDash

Traveling with kids can be stressful. DealDash has some tips to keep you sane on your family vacation this summer.

Traveling with the kids can seem like a very stressful thing to do. However, it does not need to be that way. There are many things that you can take out the stress of traveling with kids including some of the following tips from DealDash.

Direct is Best

You want a direct route wherever you happen to be traveling if at all possible.  This way you are traveling for the shortest amount of time possible. You can save yourself from having kids that are getting fussy because they’re sitting in a seat for too long.  So when you’re planning to travel on a vacation or anywhere for that matter take the most direct route. This includes car trips and plane trips as well.

Be Prepared

You definitely want to be prepared when traveling with the kids. Make sure that you’re doing things like taking a first aid kit and making sure you have any medications that your kids take.  This way you’ll be well prepared for any emergency that could happen while traveling with your children. If you are flying be sure to bring any medications in their original bottles, not in “pill keepers” that don’t have the prescription name and doctor’s name on them.

Bring Games and Snacks

You also want to take into account how you’ll be traveling to your destination and supply your children with appropriate toys and games or other things to keep them occupied.  That way it can keep your kids from getting fussy while you’re in a plane, train or whenever mode of transportation you plan to be taking. You also want to pack treats especially if you’re traveling with small children as they can get hungry on the way to your destination.

Try to Be Flexible

Another thing that will take a lot of stress out of your trip is being flexible with your schedule.  You want to be able to adapt quickly while you’re traveling with small children as things can arise that could put a crimp in your schedule.

When we travel with my family of 5, we always try to plan one “big” thing per day like the zoo, aquarium, or theme park. Then the rest of the day can be spent casually seeing the sights, walking around, browsing in stores, etc. This can prevent “fun fatigue” that can happen when you try to cram too many fun activities into one day. In my experience, kids tend to do better when there is flexibility in the schedule to have some down time.

Thanks for Reading

These are just a few of the things that you keep in mind when you want to travel with your children.  By being careful and doing a lot of planning and have a great trip with your kids.

DealDash Kids: Still Time for Summer Camp

DealDash

We are deep into summer, but there are new summer camps starting every week. It’s not too late! Here are some reasons why your child might enjoy a week of camp before school starts.

With so much to do over the summer, why should your child consider summer camp? There are actually many great reasons for your child to consider this opportunity including the following reasons, from DealDash.

Learn New Skills

Your child will learn many new skills. You can send them to a theater camp or cooking camp or sport camp – the possibilities are really endless here. Personally, when I was a kid, I went to computer camp. No matter which camp you choose, it will put them into a position to learn something new while having some fun along the way. Many of these specialized camps are only one or two weeks long, so you still have time to at least get a week in of camp before school starts.

Make New Friends

Your child will also have the chance to make new friends. You will give them the chance for meeting kids around their age that have similar interests. They will be able to keep in touch with their new friends after camp through letters and email. Summer camp is a wonderful way to make some lifetime friends. I actually know a married couple in their 30’s who met at summer camp as children! What are the odds?

No More “I’m Borrrrred!” at Home

Another great benefit to summer camp is that they are already being entertained at the camp. You do not have to worry about getting your child in additional activities. Your child won’t be bored at home while you are at work or having them fight with their siblings. You will be able to rest easy knowing that your child is safe and enjoying their time at camp.

Leave it to the Staff

You will also find that the staff at summer camp are extremely good role models. They would definitely be people that you would feel great about your kids looking up to them. So if you are looking to make sure that you kids are supervised by some wonderful people you should have your child consider going to summer camp. If your kids go to the same camp next year there is a good chance that at least a few of the same staff will be working.

Thanks for Reading

These are really just a few of the great reasons that your child should consider summer camp. With all the fun and learning that they can do it would be a wonderful opportunity for them to take advantage of for the summer. Entertaining your kids during the summer is an easy task when you send them to camp!

DealDash: Get Your Kids Involved with Yard Work

DealDash

Everyone needs to help around the house, including kids. Here are some tips and tricks to get your kids involved with the yard work.

With summertime in full swing, you’re likely looking for ways to get your children active with yard work.  There are many different ways you can get kids of all ages active in helping you get the yard work including some of the following, from DealDash.

Gardens are Fun

You can decide to plant a small garden.  Kids love the opportunity to get involved with a garden. You can decide either plant flowers and vegetables are maybe some of both. Your children will have a fun time helping to the yard to help keep your garden in great shape. You could even help them do something fun like plant a fairy garden.

Are They Old Enough to Mow?

If they’re a certain age where they’re responsible enough to handle the lawnmower you should teach them how to mow the lawn.  You will be able to have them take care of this job so you can focus on other aspects of yard work. Personally, I started mowing my parent’s lawn when I was around 11 years old. However, I was a very serious and cautious child, so if your child is more on the silly side, then wait until they are older.

Raking Can Be Fun

You could also consider bringing out rakes so that you can take care of getting rid of lawn clippings. This will make your yard look as good as possible.  Your kids will have fun doing work like this to make sure you make the job fun for them.

Make it Age-Appropriate and Fun

You can also have them do things like sweeping your deck and trimming branches. This, of course, is if they are old enough to take care of doing a job like that. You need to be sure that you are giving them age-appropriate jobs to do. And while the work won’t always be fun you should try and make it as fun as possible for your kids. DealDash Kids: Choosing a Baby Name

DealDash

There are many things to consider when choosing your new baby’s name. Here are some ideas and tips from DealDash to get your started.

Many parents face a difficult choice when it comes to selecting a name for their baby. You need to take your time and don’t make any quick choices when you are choosing a name for your baby. Here are some tips to consider when selecting a baby name, from DealDash.

Think About Your Last Name

You need to consider your last name when choosing a name for your baby. It is important that the name that you choose sounds good with your last name. Think back to when you were in school, were you teased about your name? Try to avoid that for your new precious baby.

Considering the shortened version of the name that you select for your child. Will it sound good with their last name?

Initials

This brings us to your child’s initials. Additionally, you want to think about your child’s initials when you are selecting your child’s name. You don’t want it to end up sounding like something unfortunate as that can lead to unwanted attention from kids when your child starts school.

Do Both Parents Agree?

You also need to consider that both your and your spouse need to like the name that you give your child. You should both agree on the name as nothing would be worse than trying to force a name that you like on your spouse. Each parent should be able to veto the other parent’s suggestions.

Common or Unique

Next, you need to consider how unique you want your baby’s name to be. While you likely want to select a unique name you also want to make sure that your child won’t stick out too much with other children so they do not get picked on for their name. If you love a particularly unique name, consider using that for a middle name. This way, if your child prefers to stand out they can use their middle name.

They Won’t Be Little Forever

Lastly, think about your child as they get older. Is their name something that will sound good as they grow up into adulthood? You need to make sure that your child is going to love their name as they get older. Thinking about these will assist you in choosing a name for your child that everyone in your family will love.

Thanks for Reading

This is really the beginning of the things you will need to consider before choosing a name for your new baby. Follow these tips, and you will be able to choose a name that you, your partner, and your baby will love as they get older.

Get Your Supplies – Try DealDash!

Too many families deal with the issue of having leftovers. Sadly, this often leads to food being thrown away and wasted. Always anticipate how you will make use of your leftovers..Here are some tips that can help you find new ways to use leftovers, from DealDash.

Veggie Soup

If you have leftover vegetables you could make a vegetable soup. You could also use leftover vegetables for beef stew or chicken noodle soup. You would just need a few ingredients in order to make a brand new dish that your family will enjoy eating. Additionally, you can even freeze this soup and save it for colder months if you desire.

Save That Bread

If you have leftover bread you can do many things with it. This includes making croutons for salads, you could also make bread pudding, french toast for breakfast or even for dinner. Finally, you can get some herb-infused olive oil to dip the bread in as an appetizer. Bread is so useful and there’s no need to throw the leftover bread away!

Rice can be re-used as well. For example, if you have a great deal of rice left over you can make pudding or meatballs with it. Both rice and bread are great leftovers to have available for cooking.

Got Lettuce?

If you have a lot of leftover lettuce from a meal you can always save it and make use of it for a salad or sandwiches. Just be sure to find the proper container for the lettuce so you don’t have to worry about it spoiling before you are able to use it. Remember to store it with the core pointing down with a tiny bit of water in the bottom. This will keep your lettuce fresh for longer.

Make it into Lunch

If you have a lot of leftovers from a dinner, you should consider turning them into lunch the next day. You will be able to eat healthier. Also, another bonus to doing this is that you will be able to save money on not going to a restaurant for your workday lunches.

DealDash Keeps the Bugs Away

DealDash

Bugs in the summer got you down? Read this article from DealDash for tips and tricks to keep them under control.

It is the summertime, so that means that bugs come out of their hiding places.  The summertime is a fun time to hang out with friends and relax, but bugs can get in the way. Although bugs are outside during the summer, they can also come inside the house. There are ways to keep bugs outside your house during the warm months.  Here are three ways to keep bugs to a minimum during the summer, from DealDash.

Get Rid of Unnecessary Water

Getting bitten by mosquitoes is not fun. That is why it is important to remove stagnant water or any water that may invite them to come in. For example, when you wash your car, make sure you pour the water out of the bucket. Mosquitoes and gnats feed off of water.  Remove water from all garbage cans and glasses with liquid in it.

White Vinegar

Many people think that you have to go out and buy some fancy insect repellent, but you can use things that are in your cabinet.  White vinegar is good for ants because they do not like the smell, and ants can easily come inside during the summertime. All you have to do is spray the white vinegar around the window frame and the doors. This will help keep the ants away from your home. The great thing about this is that it’s safe for both kids and pets.

Use a Vegetable

Some bugs do not like certain foods. Roaches are one of those insects. The next time you buy some cucumbers, make sure you do not go through them away. You should save some and keep them in the bathtub or on your kitchen counter because roaches hate them. This can also be particularly handy if you have a problem with roaches around your garbage bin outside. Simply toss your cucumber ends in there and keep the roaches at bay.

Thanks for Reading

Bugs can be very annoying during the summertime.  These tips will help you keep those pests away. You can still enjoy your summer and live bug-free if you consider these tips.

DealDash Self-Motivation for Kids and Adults

dealdash

Encouraging self-motivation in your kids is important. This is a valuable life skill that not everyone has. Read on for tips and ideas from DealDash.

Is your child less than excited about doing their homework?  Or perhaps it’s you that has trouble getting started with your work or chores. If you are having trouble with self-motivation then you can easily pass that down to your children. If you find that you or your child is lacking in self-motivation here are some tips that will help encourage the development of motivation.

Stay Positive, Rewards Work

The first thing that you want to do is stay positive and encourage any movement towards self-motivation.  You need to appreciate any effort that your child makes so hopefully you can turn that into even bigger efforts in the future.  And by staying positive you’ll be helping to encourage them.

As for yourself, if you see that you are making progress then there’s nothing wrong with giving yourself a little treat to reward yourself. DealDash has some amazing luxury treats that you’ll want to check out. From candles to jewelry, DealDash is there for you when you want to treat yourself.

Don’t Ignore Failure

You also need to not ignore failures.  Make sure to remind yourself and to teach your kids that it’s OK not to do well at things all the time.  Again this comes around to staying positive so that your child will hopefully adopt a positive attitude of self-motivation for things that they will do in the future. When you or your child has a failure you should acknowledge it and move on. There’s no sense in dwelling on the mistake, look towards the future.

Do Things Your Own Way

Sometimes what seems like a lack of motivation can just be the fear of making a mistake. If you or your child needs a little extra help then try to adopt a learning style that will help with motivation.  For example, if you or your child is a visual learner and like to do things like baking you can help them learn things like volume and measurements. This will be in a fun way that doesn’t seem like a troublesome math lesson.

Build Self-Esteem

While you’re doing all of this you also want to remember to work on your self-esteem. If your child is the one with the trouble, then helping them build their self esteem will go far in making sure that they develop a healthy attitude and self-motivation.  You want to congratulate them on their victories and help them work through on their failures. This will help them to build self -esteem and hopefully been more motivated in the future.

Thanks for Reading

Building self-motivation in yourself or your child can seem like a difficult task. However, it is an important lesson to learn so you want to be there to help teach it to them.

DealDash Kids: What to Pack for a Trip

DealDash

Taking a trip with kids requires some special attention to packing. Here are some tips and tricks from DealDash to get you going!

Going on trips can be a lot of fun, but it can sometimes be hard to keep your kids occupied on the trip. It is the summertime and people are going to various places. You may be going on a trip with your kids this summer, and you may be wondering what should you bring. It is easy to forget the important things when it comes to going on a trip, so it is good to write down what you need.  Here are some essentials that you need to pack for a trip with kids, from DealDash.

Clothes

You must pack clothes for your kids, of course! Sometimes it is good to go shopping for new clothes when you are planning to go on a trip. Make sure that you pack clothes that are cool so that you won’t get hot. Don’t get anything too fancy or easy to ruin. Colorful clothes are your best bet when you are packing for a trip because white clothes can easily become dirty. Packing clothes for your kids is very important when it comes to going on a trip.

Activities and Fun

No matter if you are going on a road trip or a plane you need things for your kids to do in general. It is best to pack their favorite toys, movies, and games so they can be occupied on the trip. When you have your kids occupied with activities the trip will go much smoother.

It’s also a good idea to buy a few new inexpensive things for your kids to do on your trip. Some suggestions are coloring and activity books, magazines, a magnetic drawing board, and a few blind bags if your kids enjoy those.

If you aren’t familiar with blind bags, they are small plastic bags that have an unknown toy or toys in them. Usually, there is a theme, such as you know you will be getting an animal toy, car toy, small doll, etc. They are really fun, inexpensive, and are fun since they don’t know what they are getting.

Toiletries

Packing toiletries for your kids are important. Make sure that they have plenty of deodorants, toothpaste, body wash, and of course diapers if you have a toddler or infant. Even if you don’t have a small child baby wipes are still a good item to pack. You can use them to wipe up spills and messes, wipe off hands, clean things that fall on a dirty floor, and many other uses. I always keep some with me.

You should keep a separate bag for each kid, so you won’t get their toiletries mixed up. Remember to pack travel size products so that you can have room in your kid’s luggage. A fun idea might be to take the kids to the store and let them pick out their own small bag for toiletries. A makeup bag, or pencil case, or school supply bag can be a great thing to store toiletries in, and typically have fun cartoons or patterns on them.

Thanks for Reading

Packing for a trip with your kids is not a difficult task. These tips will help you pack the right essentials so you can have a memorable and stress-free trip with your children.

Regardless of the reasons why you want to go to the beach, you need to be prepared.  There are some things that you must bring to the beach in order to enjoy your trip, from DealDash.

Swimsuits

Swimsuits are the number one thing that you need for a beach trip, whether you are going for a swim or not.   You should travel with at least two swimsuits one to wear and one that is dry. Swimsuits will keep you nice and cool when you are at the beach. If you are male short or swim trunks will do just fine.

Beach Towel

Everyone needs a beach towel for the beach. A beach towel will help you dry yourself off, and you can lay it in the sand so that you will have somewhere to sit. When you are looking for a beach towel, it is best to go to places like Wal-Mart or Target and get a set of beach towels.

Sunscreen

Sunscreen is a very important item that you must have when you go to the beach. You need a sunscreen that will protect your skin from the heat. Make sure that the sunscreen has SPF 30 or higher. When you order sunscreen online, you will save a lot of money compared to buying sunscreen in the store. Don’t forget to re-apply your sunscreen every few hours.

DealDash Kids: Choosing Your Next Art Project

dealdash

Most kids love doing arts and crafts projects. Here are some tips from DealDash to choosing your next art project with your kids.

Selecting a new art project to do with your kids can be a bit overwhelming. With so many different things to do online and off, it can be difficult to select the right art supplies. Here are some things to think about when you are looking for a new art project to do with your kids, from DealDash.

What Are Your Kids Interested in?

Think about things that your kids like. Then try to use that information to plan a project or two in order to have some fun being creative with your kids. Planning ahead of time when you want to shop online or offline for art project supplies.

For example, if your daughter loves horses and needs a new painting in her room it would make sense to try your hand at that. Perhaps your son loves dinosaurs. Maybe you could paint a ceramic dinosaur bank together. There are so many options, just try to figure out what your child is interested in.

Just Ask!

Simply ask your kids what they would like to do for an art project. Who knows, you might have all the supplies that you need right in your house. Your children will be very excited to be asked for their input. Making your kids excited about crafting is a great benefit of doing art with your kids.

What’s Your Budget?

Keep in mind your budget. You need to not simply go shopping and by art supplies. You need to pay attention to sales so you can get the very best deals on the supplies that you need. That way you can pick up your kids’ favorite supplies when they go on sale. Be sure to google “coupon” and the name of the craft store you shop at before you go to get your supplies. There are almost always coupons floating around each week.

Re-Use an Old Idea

If you have simply run out of new ideas put a twist on an old one. If you can make something your kids have done before appear exciting again it would be a great way to keep them interested in doing crafts.

For example, if you and your child have previously drawn a comic book together, why not go back and color it? Or maybe you and your child built a birdhouse. Now is the time to give it a new paint job!

Thanks for Reading

These are just a few things to keep in mind when you want to plan your next art project with your kids. You will be surprised how much having a plan will help you here. So remember ideas like these when you want to do a new project with your kids.

If you need any crafting supplies including paints, crayons, glue, or glitter, you can get them at your local big box store. DealDash has gift cards to Wal-Mart which is an excellent place to get your crafting supplies.

DealDash Budgets Money for a Fun Trip

DealDash

It’s not too late to save up money to go on a late-summer trip. Here are some tips from DealDash to save up for a trip.

Traveling is a great way to relax, and take a break from the responsibilities of life. However, traveling can cost a lot of money. That is why it is best to create a budget and save your money ahead of time. You have to take in consideration your traveling arrangements and leisure activities. Here are 3 tips to budget your money for a trip, from DealDash.

Choose Your Method of Transportation

Traveling to the location you want to go to may be expensive. That is why it is important to have a budget for your traveling preference. It is faster to take an airplane, but it can also be expensive. It will be more budget friendly to take a train, car, or bus If you are not going a long distance. You can use websites such as Google flights and Expedia to compare prices. However, you should also factor in your time as well – saving $10 but spending an extra few hours might not really be worth it.

Figure Out Where You are Going to Stay

You don’t have to spend a lot of money on a hotel. The cost may vary when you are trying to find a place to stay. It is best to be able to determine your needs and figure out what is available. In order to budget your money better, you should pick a hotel that is close to the attractions you are going to see. This will cut down on local travel costs. If you can plan your trip to include staying at an out of town family member’s house to save money, all the better!

Food

Food is really important when you are traveling. You can explore new cuisines, or you can save money by getting a hotel room with a microwave and kitchen. This way you can go to the grocery store and make easy to make meals. If you have kids you would be much better off to bring snacks with you from home or go to the grocery store when you arrive at your destination. Buying packs of cheese and crackers, goldfish crackers, granola bars, and fruit is significantly cheaper than buying fast food every time your kids want a snack.

In order to pick the right small pet, you have to know how much time can you devote to your animal. If you are a busy person, you should consider having something like a fish or a hermit crab.  If you have a lot of time on your hands you should consider a hamster because they thrive on attention. DealDash’s Most Memorable Picnic

DealDash

DealDash is here to help you plan the most memorable picnic of the summer. Read on for more information.

Summer is the perfect time to spend time with your family, and do some fun outside activities. The weather is getting warmer, and it is time to relax and have a good time. You may be wondering what are some good ways to spend time with your family outside during the summer. One of the best ways is to have a summer picnic.  Here are three tips to help you have the perfect summer picnic:

Pick the Right Spot

Picking the perfect spot is the first step in planning a summer picnic. You can have a picnic on the beach, or you can find an area where there is a lot of shade such as a park. Having a picnic in the shade is the best bet so your food can stay fresh. You also want to pick a spot that has a grassy area so you can put a blanket down. Be careful to watch out for ants and other critters before you put your blanket down.

Plan Your Menu

When it comes to planning a picnic your menu should not be complicated. Some suggestions are fried chicken, cold sandwiches, fruit, salads and various desserts such as brownies and cookies. It is important to also have a lot of beverages because of the heat.  It is essential to make sure that you do not bring food that melts easily because it will cause a mess. Even if you are bringing juice or lemonade it’s important to bring water for everyone as well.

Ward off Pests and Use Sunscreen

Bug spray is very important when it comes to a picnic. You should use bug spray and bring things to cover your food. You should also bring garbage bags to throw away your food when you finish eating. It is also important to bring sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun. The minimum recommended SPF rating is 30 when you are planning on spending time outdoors. However, I personally use 50+ because I am very fair, it can’t hurt!

Thanks for Reading

I hope these tips will help you have a good time at your summer picnic. If you follow these tips, you will have a picnic that you will never forget. With a little advance planning, it will make things go a lot easier.
