Tips for Honeymoon Budgeting from DealDash

DealDash

Weddings are very expensive! Here are some tips from DealDash to save money on the honeymoon.

Getting married is one of the most rewarding experiences that you will have. Weddings can sometimes be very expensive.  That is why it is important to put aside money for your honeymoon. Reports have shown that more than one million married couples go on a honeymoon every year. If you budget your wedding wisely, you can easily plan an unforgettable honeymoon.  Here are 3 budgeting tips for your honeymoon, from DealDash.

Think About the Honeymoon When Budgeting the Wedding

If you spend all of your money on an extravagant wedding, you will not have enough cash for your honeymoon. That is why it is important to think about your honeymoon when you are setting aside a budget for your wedding. You should consider having the wedding at the destination that you want to go to on your honeymoon.  This can save you a lot of money on the traveling cost. However, this means that fewer people will be able to attend due to travel expenses. You can weigh the pros and cons with your fiancee.

Use a Spreadsheet or Finance Tracker

One of the most important parts of budgeting is tracking what you are spending. You can use an excel spreadsheet or tracking software to help you stay on a budget. You break down the spreadsheets into settings based on the amount you are planning to spend on the honeymoon and wedding.

After Your Honeymoon

You should think about your expenses as a married couple after your honeymoon.  When you return home, you will have bills, and you may need things such as a new bed or furniture even if you were already living together. Being mindful of your expenses will keep you on a budget for your honeymoon. A wedding is the biggest party that you will ever throw for yourself. Use your resources wisely, and don’t forget to think about the future.

DealDash Kids: Fun Crafts to do on Spring Break

DealDash

When you have young kids going on a Spring Break vacation isn’t in the cards. Here are some fun crafts from DealDash to do on school break.

When you have kids, you know the importance of keeping them occupied, especially during a school break. Kids need to do things to exercise their mind and creativity. There are so many activities kids can do besides going online and playing video games. Arts and crafts are one of the best things to do with your kids. There are so many crafts to choose from so I have narrowed down the best ones that kids will enjoy on their school break. Read on for some great craft ideas from DealDash.

Spin Tie Dye Art

Tie-dye activities are always a fun activity to do, and now that the weather is getting warmer you can do this one outside if you have a deck or patio.  The best way to do a tie-dye activity is to use your salad spinner as a spin art machine. Your kids can tie-dye many different things by using a salad spinner. It is important to use washable paint so you will not have any permanent marks on the spinner and no splatter. Kids will love this one because they can get outside and get a little messy.

Create a Fairy Garden

If you want to put your child’s imagination to good use, you should create a fairy garden. All you have to do is sprinkle some glitter over your garden and add different things such as colorful stones and rocks. Your kids will enjoy this activity because they will think the glitter is pixie dust.

If the weather where you are isn’t so nice yet, no problem. You can stay inside and help the kids paint stones for the fairy garden. There are kits to do this at the craft store, or you can easily use (washed) stones from outside and acrylic paint. If you would like your designs to last all through the year, be sure to spray a clear coat of paint on after the rocks are decorated to keep the rain off.

Slime

Slime is one of the most exciting crafts to do with your kids. All you need is glue, water, food coloring, and Borax solution. You can create different types of slime by using food coloring. Adding glitter and other things to your slime can also make it a lot of fun. Your kids will have a good time making slime and will enjoy playing with it. You can also add larger elements such as beads or foam balls to make textured slime. This activity is surprisingly not very messy.

Thanks for Reading

Crafting with your kids can be a lot of fun. I hope these three crafts have given you some ideas.  These crafts are easy to make, and it very fun for your kids. Arta and crafts are a great after-school activity to do once the homework is done or taking a break from electronics, not just on vacation breaks.  Your kids will activate their creativity and will enjoy spending time with you. Trust me, when they are older they will fondly remember the times spent crafting with you and not watching a screen.

DealDash Dogs: Let’s Take a Vacation!

DealDash

If you’ve been thinking about taking your pet with you on vacation, why not this year? Here are a few great places to vacation with dogs, from DealDash.

Going on vacations is a lot of fun. Sometimes it is good to take your pets with you instead of putting them in doggy hotels or leaving them with someone else. You probably think that there is no way that you can bring your dog on vacation because of places to eat and hotels. That is not the case. There are three top vacation spots that will allow you to take your dog along with you, from DealDash.

Huntington Beach, California

The beach is one of the perfect places to take your dog especially Huntington Beach. Many people take their dogs to Huntington Beach so they can play and explore the area.  Dog owners work hard to keep the beach clean and everything under control for your pet. After your dog is done hanging out at the beach, you can take them to a dog spa that is located at Seacliff Village. If you could ask your dog where he would like to go, I bet he might say “Woof, Huntington Beach, woof!”

Key West, Florida

Key West Florida is a beautiful vacation spot that your dog will love.  The good news is Key West has a dog beach that will be perfect for your animal. They are free to play in the waves or go dog paddling. If you want to go into the water together, you can contact Lazy Kayak and enjoy kayaking together.  Order some food when you are done, and enjoy the scenery with your dog on the terrace. If relaxing is your and your dog’s idea of fun, then I bet you will both love Key West.

Atlanta, Georgia

There are a lot of happy dogs that live in Atlanta which makes it the perfect vacation spot for your dog. The Piedmont Dog Park is the perfect place to take your dog for play time, and exercise. You will also discover Chattahoochee River Park.  After you are playing you should let your dog take a nap while you go out and have a night out on the town. Atlanta, Georgia is an excellent vacation destination that you are sure to give 2 paws up!

Thanks for Reading

I hope these vacation spots have given you some good ideas of where to take your dog for vacation.   You will create a memorable experience for your dog when you choose one of these vacation destinations.

I hope that you found this DealDash article on where to vacation with your dog helpful. If you have any tips for pets and their owners please share them below in a comment on this DealDash blog.

With Spring on its way, it would be fun to have a get together for your kids and their friends. Here are some tips to have fun and stay on budget, from DealDash.

Planning a child’s birthday party can be very exciting yet very expensive at the same time.  So what you do when you want to plan a party and don’t have a lot of money to do so?  Here are several tips for planning a fantastic birthday for your child on a budget.

Where Are You Getting Together?

You want to look for a cheap place to gather your kids and their friends. Your house would be a fine place, of course, but you could also meet up at a restaurant with a function room, a kid’s trampoline park, a park (if it’s warm in your area), or a number of other places.  Ideally, you want to have a party at your home because that involves not having to rent anything.  You can also keep the party going on as long as you like with no issues with time restrictions. It’s your choice, some people would prefer to pay a small amount to have the party anywhere besides their house so they don’t have to deal with clean-up.

Don’t Forget to Send E-Invitations

Since everyone you know is likely to be online in one form or another you can use this tool to invite the guests. You can send an e-invitation, send an e-mail, or use social media to invite guests your child’s get together.  You’ll be able to find out quickly if people are able to come to your party. This is a great benefit to using this avenue to invite people to your child’s party.

What Activities Does Your Child Want?

Ask your child that they want to do for their party as far as activities go.  They are likely going to give you plenty of ideas. If you have a tight budget you can simply select the cheapest ideas and go from there. This way you can keep the kids busy during the party without having to worry about ruining your budget. As the weather warms up there are more and more chances for cheap outdoor fun.

DealDash Plans a Baby Shower

DealDash Baby showers are fun but they can be a lot of work. Let DealDash help you plan the party.

Throwing a baby shower is one of the most exciting events that you can plan. Baby showers are typically thrown by family members, friends, or even the mommy-to-be’s spouse. Although baby showers are a lot of fun, you should always make sure that you are prepared for a baby shower. There are some things that you should do to prepare for the big day, from DealDash.

Choose a Date and Time

It is important to figure out the date and time of when you are going to have the party. Make sure that you coordinate the time with the availability of the mother-to-be. Most baby showers are thrown when the mommy-to-be is around seven months pregnant. It is not a rule that is set in stone, but if you want to keep the tradition, seven months is the perfect time to have a baby shower. If you or the mom-to-be is superstitious, though, you could throw a “meet the baby” party instead when the baby is a few weeks old.

Choose a location

You need to determine your budget for the baby shower before you choose the location. Once you figure out a budget, you need to decide where you are going to have the baby shower. You can rent out a venue, or you can have the baby shower in the backyard or living room. You will save a lot of money by having the baby shower at your house. Another suggestion might be to have the shower at a restaurant that has a function room. Many places won’t charge you for use of the function room if you are planning on purchasing food from the restaurant for the party.

Send the Invitations

You want to make sure that you send invitations to your guests so that they can save the date and clear their schedule. There are a lot of ways that you can send invitations such as in the mail or email. You can make personalize invitations from online stores such as Zazzle, or you can purchase an invitation in the store. Regardless of how you choose to send an invitation, it is important to send the invitations early.

Don’t feel that you need to be using your home as the destination of the party. Try a park or other open space for the festivities in warmer weather, or a church, YMCA, or Boys and Girls Club in the winter. This way you are simply responsible for cleaning up a small area and you do not have to worry about a bunch of children running through your home. Trust me, you don’t want to clean a huge mess to clean up after the party. Even if you have to rent a room in one of the above-mentioned places it will be worth it in the amount of stress that it will save you.

Party Favors

Don’t forget the party favors! When you are planning in advance for the party make sure that you locate excellent party favors as they are the best thing next to the actual party. Give your child’s guests a memorable memento of their time at the party. A fun idea might be to give them picture frames and a printed photo of them and the birthday guest of honor.

Pick the Right Spot

When you are planning a picnic, you should pick a spot where there is a lot of scenery. Some places that you can have a picnic at are at a nearby park, the beach, and rooftops. It is important to keep in mind that you need a flat area where you can sit on and have your picnic. It’s also especially important to remember your picnic blanket, as some of these places tend to be a bit dirty.

Prepare the Food

Good food is the most important part of a picnic. It is good to have the basic picnic foods such as sandwiches, fruits, salads, snacks, soda, lemonade, hot dogs, and water. It is also good to have foods that your family and friends will enjoy.  Finger foods are the best type of foods to eat when you are having a picnic. You should go to your local supermarket to get ideas for your picnic. Be sure to have food for even the smallest and pickiest eaters in your family.

Autumn Outdoor Weddings with DealDash

DealDash

Autumn is here, and there are many weddings going on. Here are suggestions on how to dress to attend an outdoor autumn wedding, from DealDash.

Planning a wedding can be a daunting task.  Figuring out where to have your wedding can cause a lot of stress. Having a wedding outdoors is a great place to have a wedding.  You can choose different wedding themes and locations. Many people don’t know how to dress for a wedding that is outdoors. Here are some tips to share with your guests if you are having an outdoor wedding – or if you are going to be attending an outdoor wedding this fall. Most people get excited about dressing up for weddings, but you have to know how to dress for weddings that are outside. Here are some suggestions, from DealDash.

Figure Out the Weather

The most important thing you have to do when you are dressing for an outdoor wedding is to analyze the weather. It is important to wear warmer outfits for the fall and winter time.  If you are going to dance during the wedding, make sure you wear a shawl or a jacket.

Depending on where you live, sometimes the fall can be very rainy. Be sure to plan ahead and bring an umbrella for yourself and your date. The weather here in New England can have extremes from one end of the thermometer to the other. If you are going to be a guest at the wedding be sure to have a backup outfit planned if the weather doesn’t co-operate with your first choice.

Take into Consideration Location

The setting and location usually dictates what you are going to wear.  For example, if it is on a beach you will wear less formal attire.  A wedding at the beach will usually be breezy and windy so you may want to wear something that can handle those conditions. If you’re attending a beautiful autumn wedding at a park or garden be sure to pack a shawl or jacket, as it can be very breezy.

When in Doubt, Dress Up

It is important to understand that you should dress up instead of underdressing. The more dressed up you are, the better. It does not matter if the wedding is outdoors.  If you have a hard time picking out an outfit that is formal ask a friend or a family member for help.

Dressing up for a wedding can be really fun. Having a wedding outdoors is special, and you have to make sure that you wear the proper attire. You don’t want to be too cold or too hot. Keep these tips in mind, whether you’re the bride, groom, or simply a guest at an outdoor wedding this autumn.

DealDash: Indoor Winter Activities for Kids

DealDash

Winter is coming! Here are some fun activities for your kids to do inside, from DealDash.

With the weather getting cooler parents are no doubt trying to think of activities for their kids to do indoors. It’s important to keep the kids entertained. Here are a few fun activities that you can do with your kids the next time that it is too cold to be outside, from DealDash.

Make a Treasure Hunt

You can plan a treasure hunt for your kids to do indoors. It doesn’t need to be anything too complex, just a few clues for them to guess the different locations in the house that they need to find. Once they complete the treasure hunt they can get their prize.

When thinking about a prize, you can make the prize another fun activity for them to do, such as baking cookies together. Another fun activity that could be the prize is ingredients to make slime.

Let’s Finger Paint!

Finger painting is a great choice for little kids that need something to do indoors. You can set up an area in the kitchen for them to create their masterpieces to minimize the mess and just let them get creative. There are all kinds of paints that you can purchase for finger painting or you can even make your own for another fun project. The two main traits that you want your finger paint to possess are being non-toxic and washable.

For Older Kids, Try Puzzles & Board Games

Puzzles and board games are another fun option on colder days when you can’t go play outside. There are all kinds of puzzles and board games for all ages so you are sure to be able to find something that your kids will enjoy playing. It is a great pastime to do together as a family. Some of the favorites at my house include Trouble and matching games.

Get Creative With Picture Collages

Making picture collages is a fun way for you kids to express their creativity. You can make collages from pictures that you have taken or you can take pictures out of magazines and news papers for your kids to get creative with for their collage. One of my favorite ways to get pictures for my kid’s collages is by using my Fuji Instax 8. It takes instant pictures just like an old-fashioned Polaroid camera, except they are much smaller.

Thanks for Reading the Blog

Finding something for your kids to do when it is too cold to get outside can seem really difficult but it doesn’t need to be. With a little creative thinking, you can come up with some great ideas like the ones mentioned above that will keep your kids occupied for hours.

DealDash: Be Your Own Best Friend

Image result for bffs

Being your own best friend is important. Here are some tips and tricks to accomplish that, from DealDash.

You might have many different people that you can count on in your family and circle of friends. However, they can’t be with you 100% of the time, so it’s good to learn how to be your own best friend. Here are some tips from dealDash to do just that. Read on for more information.

Let Go of Worry, Face Your Problems

If you’re a nervous sort of person who is frequently worried about different things – let go of that! Face your problems right away, and you’ll have much less to worry about. I know that facing your problems can be difficult, but don’t you think it would be worth it to not have to worry anymore about so many different things?

Treat Yourself

I am a huge proponent of treating myself. Whether it’s having an ice cream, buying myself a new purse, or taking myself out for a coffee – I do it. It’s great for your self-esteem to realize that you’re worth treating yourself to the little extras. You’re worth it, I’m worth it, let’s treat ourselves. It doesn’t always have to be a physical treat, either, it could be taking yourself to the movies, or going for a nice long walk.

Stop Agreeing!

Many of us are people-pleasers. That’s not necessarily a bad thing as long as no one takes advantage of you. However, there are always going to be a few people here and there in your life that are going to try and take advantage of your giving nature. This is the right time to stand up for yourself and stop agreeing with whatever the person wants you to do. It could be just about anything, but if you feel like someone is taking advantage of you, just say no.

Spend Lots of Quality Time…With Yourself

Being your own best friend means that you’re comfortable spending time alone. That sometimes makes a lot of people feel uncomfortable, but I think it’s wonderful! I love going to the movies or dinner by myself. I don’t ever think of it as lonely or embarrassing, I think of it as taking a mental break from the rest of the world. If that’s not your thing, that’s fine, too. Spend some quality time by yourself at home, reading a book, taking a long bath, or whatever you like to do.

DealDash Forms Happy Habits

DealDash

Do you know someone who always seems happy? I bet they have some of these happy habits that DealDash recommends.

If you struggle to feel as happy as other people seem to be, you might just not have the right habits – the happy habits! Happy habits are just as easy to form as bad habits, and they are a whole lot more fun and good for you, too! Read on for more about happy habits, from DealDash.

Spend Time with Happy People

This happy habit is easy to form because it’s both fun and enjoyable. Do you know a few people who always seem happy? Well, spend more time with them! That’s right, happiness is like wet paint, it rubs right off onto anyone who touches it! If you spend time with happy people, then it will rub off on you, too.

Relax and Pamper Yourself

Having a nap when you can, or relaxing and reading your favorite magazine is a happy habit that anyone can do. If you’re not into reading, then how about a  nice pampering session? You can get a massage, a mani-pedi, or whatever you might enjoy. Taking a break to relax and pamper yourself is definitely a great happy habit to form.

Health and Nutrition

A healthy body is a happy body, and eating well and exercising is a very good happy habit to form. Even if you aren’t very sporty or have a high endurance level, just about anyone can go for a nice walk, do a little yoga, or take a swim. It doesn’t matter what you do to exercise, just do a little bit every day to form your happy habit.

Eating well, including fresh and healthy foods is also a good happy habit to have. Of course, occasionally indulging yourself is a good happy habit to have as well, but if you can eat healthy most of the time then you’ll be much better for it!

Be Kind to Yourself

And finally, one of the happiest habits of all – be kind to yourself. Everyone has a bad day, and everyone makes mistakes. remember – just because you’re having a bad day doesn’t mean that you have a bad life. Being kind to yourself is extremely important because no matter who you are or where you’re from everyone needs some kindness. And there’s no guarantee of kindness from anywhere except from within. Be kind to yourself and those around you – spread your happy habits around and make other people happy, too.

DealDash Helps: Gain Confidence

DealDash

Everyone has something to be confident about. DealDash is here to help you boost your confidence. Read on for more information.

There are few things that make having a happy and active social life worse than having low self-confidence. No matter what your skills are, no matter how you look, and no matter what your bank account says, everyone has something to be confident about. Read on for some helpful tips and tricks from DealDash to boost your self-confidence.

Find Your Skill and Practice

What’s your best skill? It doesn’t have to be something rare and exotic. Perhaps you’re a good singer or a great cook. Maybe you’re a whiz at the computer or an awesome dancer. Whatever skill that you have, it’s time to recognize it and nurture it. There’s nothing that boosts your confidence more than being absolutely amazing at something. The key is to find what you’re “pretty good” at, and practice until you’re highly skilled. For example, my daughter is a very shy girl. She

For example, my daughter is a very shy girl. She is starting Kindergarten this Thursday, and she has been dreading it since preschool ended in June. I thought about her skills and decided that she had a very nice singing voice, and asked her if she wanted to take voice lessons. She’s been taking voice lessons all summer, and I have really seen her confidence grow in the past few months.

Play Up Your Best Features

Looking clean, neat, and presentable goes a long way towards being confident. You can take this a step further and play up your best features. For the ladies, this might mean taking special care with your makeup. For the men, it could mean getting regular haircuts and dressing well. This is a little bit different for everyone, but trust me when I say that you’ll be more confident if you’re looking good.

Be Nice to Others

This might not seem like a confidence booster, but when you are friendly and kind to others it makes you feel good, too. Knowing that you’re a person that people think of as nice or caring can make you see yourself in a more positive light and therefore boost your self-confidence.

Set an Achievable Goal for Yourself

You know what makes a person feel great? Reaching their goals. DO you know how you can reach your goals? By setting many small ones. Think of a small goal that you could set for yourself right now. Maybe it’s to read a particular book, or to be able to walk 2 miles, or maybe to memorize a poem. No matter what your small goal might be, write it down, and strive for it. You will get a great boost of self-confidence when you find yourself reaching your goal. Then set another one!

DealDash Calms First Day of School Nerves

DealDash

The first day of school can be scary. Luckily, DealDash is here to help with tips for your child.

The first day of school can be a nerve wracking experience for a lot of children, especially if it is their first year at school. As a parent, it can be difficult to know just how to calm the nervous feeling that their children are having. Here are a few tips to help calm your children so that they can have a great first day at school.

Create Some Excitement

The first thing that you should do is get them excited to be up in the morning. Let them know that going to school is a great and fun thing for them. Do this while they are getting ready. It will help to put them in a good mood and hopefully start to get rid of the nervousness that they may be feeling. If possible, tell them that you will let them choose dinner for that night. Tell them that you can’t wait to talk about their day with the whole family at dinner time.

Feed Them a Good Breakfast

It cannot be stressed enough how important a good and nutritious breakfast can be for your child. You need to give them a breakfast that is full of nutrients and protein. This is so that they will be able to get through the morning until their lunch time. Take the time to eat something with your child and continue to talk about what a good day that they will be having. Continue the excitement that you started creating before when they were getting ready. Make sure that you pack them a healthy lunch along with a little treat if they aren’t purchasing school lunch.

Compliments = Confident Children

Building your child’s confidence while they are getting ready for school will also help then to feel less nervous. Give them several compliments to help build up their confidence before they walk out the door for school. You also want to reassure them that although the school day can seem really long they will have you waiting to hear all about their day. Give them a compliment on their hair or outfit, as well as a compliment about their intelligence. It will have them feeling great and ready to take on the challenge of school.

Thanks for Reading

Going to school, especially on the first day can really intimidate kids so be sure to take the time to help them get rid of their nervousness. This way they can tackle the first day of school with confidence and of course a big smile.

Having a Bad Day? DealDash Says “That’s Okay!”

DealDash

Everyone has a bad day sometimes. Here’s why that’s okay, from DealDash.

One of my favorite inspirational quotes is “You’re having a bad day, not a bad life.” and I try to remember that when things seem like they are going wrong all day long. No matter how bad my day seems other people are having it much worse, and I try to just power through the day and go to bed early. It’s okay to acknowledge that you’re having a bad day. Here are some tips and tricks to help, from DealDash.

Everyone Has a Bad Day

I know that when you’re having a bad day it seems like everyone else in the world that you see is happy. However, keep in mind that even though you are seeing people smiling and laughing and having a great time, they have bad days as well. You don’t need to put on a happy face if you’re not feeling it. Just try to get through your day, and know that you aren’t alone in having a bad day!

Do Something to Make You Happy

What cheers you up when you’re sad? Do you like to visit a friend? Maybe take yourself out for ice cream? Perhaps you like to buy yourself a little present. Whatever small thing that you can do for yourself to try and turn your bad day around should be on your mind. When you figure out something that will improve your outlook on your day, then you should do it! Take the chance, improve your luck.

Go Out or Stay In, Your Choice

When you’re having a bad day, do you like to go out or stay in? Either choice is a fine one in my book – do whichever one makes you feel better. Some people are firmly in the “Go out you’ll feel better” or “Stay in, you’ll feel better” camp. However, what other people think isn’t as important as how you feel. You should do the option that makes your feel better. Or, perhaps you would like to do a little bit of both. There’s nothing like a movie to cheer yourself up when you’re having a bad day. One of the great things about going to the movies when you’re having a bad day is that you can escape into someone else’s life for two hours.

Don’t Forget to Pamper Yourself

Be gentle and pamper yourself when you’re having a bad day. Take some time out to do some self-care. It doesn’t matter if it’s a massage, a manicure, a haircut, or even a soak in the spa. Pamper yourself and be gentle. You’re having a bad day, you can make yourself feel better with a little extra TLC for yourself.

DealDash Helps You be More Pleasant

DealDash

Studies show that people who are more pleasant to be around are also healthier and happier. Here are some tips from DealDash to improve your pleasant quotient.

Are you the cheerful person that everyone wants to be around? If not, why not?! No matter what’s going on in your life, being pleasant to be around just takes a few moments of your time and is completely free. One of the bonuses about being a pleasant person is that people tend to respond more positively to pleasant people and therefore will make your day brighter as well.

Hold the Positive, Let Go of the Negative

I know that everyone has a bad day here and there, and no one can be pleasant all of the time. However, there’s no reason to let every little thing in your day that doesn’t go right get you down. If you let all of the small things that go wrong get you down on a daily basis, then you’re definitely not going to be as pleasant as you can be. Try to turn some of those negatives into positives. For example, most people dislike the rain, especially if they have to walk in it. However, the rain helps the grass and flowers grow, helps replenish our lakes and ponds, and is good for the environment in general. Try to think on the positive side of life.

Take Delight in the Little Things

Tons of small but nice things happen every day. Maybe someone let you go ahead of them in line at the supermarket, maybe you found a dollar on the ground, or maybe your child brought home a 100 on a test. All of those are small things, but wonderful things that you should take delight in and celebrate with a smile. If you spend lots of time being happy with the small good things that happen during the day you’ll have less time to dwell on any negative things that happen.

Spread the Happiness Around

If you’re having a great day, why not pass that feeling on to others around you? Give someone a compliment, pay for someone else’s coffee, call your mom just to say hi. All of those things would take less than 5 minutes, and under $5, so why not?! Make someone else happy, and you will feel happiness in return. It comes full-circle, and everyone will be happier for it.

Don’t Always Say What You’re Thinking

Have you ever heard someone say “If you don’t have something nice to say then don’t say anything at all?” Well, that’s smart advice if you want to be known as the most pleasant person around. Before you say something that might be taken as rude, then think about it a bit before you say it. If it’s not a helpful, and it might hurt someone’s feelings, then why say it? Bite your tongue, keep it to yourself, and move on. Life is short, try to keep all of your interactions pleasant.

Let’s Have a DealDash Spa Slumber Party

DealDash Spa

School is almost over, and your kids are going to be bored. Why not plan a spa slumber party with DealDash?

A spa slumber party can be fun for kids of all ages, from little kids up to grannies! However, it’s especially well-received by girls in Elementary and Middle school.  With a little preparation and some creativity, your spa slumber party will be a hit with your daughter or granddaughter and her little friends! Here are some tips, tricks, hints, and ideas from DealDash to make your party a success.

Make Some Decisions

There are many decisions that you’ll need to make before you have your spa slumber party, such as how many people you’re going to invite, what types of spa activities that you want to have, and what refreshments you’ll need. Once you’ve decided these things, the planning will go much more smoothly.

Who Will You Invite?

After you’ve decided who to invite, then you’ll need to make a guest list. If this is a party for teens or adults, then 6-8 guests is probably a good number, but the younger the guests, the less you should invite. For example, if this party is going to be for Kindergarteners, I would only invite 4 or so guests.

Once you have your guest list decided, then you can start inviting people. You can make a Facebook invitation, do e-vites, or even buy (or make) some paper invitations to send in the mail. It’s completely up to you. If you go the paper invitations route, be sure to put your email address on there as well as your phone number so people have the option to RSVP by either email or text.

Collect Your Supplies

After deciding what type of spa activities that you’re going to have at your party, then you can start collecting the supplies that you’ll need to make the night a success. Here are some examples of things that you might want to collect for your spa party:

  • Nail polishes in different colors
  • Nail polish remover
  • Q-tips
  • Cotton rounds
  • Things to make face masks such as eggs, oatmeal, avocado, honey
  • Towels
  • Make-up such as eye shadow, blush, eyeliner
  • Make-up remover wipes
  • Lotions
  • Facial scrubs
  • If you’re really adventurous – a home waxing kit!

Buy Snacks

You will most likely order take-out or pizza for dinner, but be sure that you have snacks, bottled water, and soda on hand. You can make Chex Mix, get pretzels and hummus dip, a mixed veggie plate, and some bags of microwave popcorn. DealDash Combats Negative Attitudes

DealDash

Having a good attitude and a positive outlook on life can be half of the battle of having a good day. Here are some tips and tricks from DealDash to help.

If you’re already a person who has a sunny, happy attitude, then you probably don’t need too much help in this department! However, if you are more of a “Negative Nelly” then maybe you should take some of these tips to heart. When you have a good attitude and a positive outlook on life then everything seems just a little bit easier.

Be an Active Participant in Your Good Day

Sometimes people can be perceived as having a negative attitude not because they actually have a bad attitude, but because they seem ambivalent. If you want people to think that you have a happy and positive attitude, then try to actively do things to make your day better. Spend time with people that make you happy, go for a walk, spend time with your pets. Whatever makes you happy!

Leave the Negativity Behind

You should not only strive for the positive but leave the negativity behind, as well. This includes bad habits, things that make you unhappy, and even negative people. This is something that I have said to my kids and a few friends as well – if someone makes you feel anything other than happy or neutral on a regular basis, then you don’t really need to spend time with them. Life is too short to spend time with people that make you unhappy.

No One’s Perfect

Try to let go of any unrealistic expectations that you have. You can get into a habit of thinking negatively because things don’t go as you planned. Nothing in life is certain, sometimes things go wrong, and it’s important that we all try to adjust. If you don’t have a lot of excitement built up about things, then you won’t feel as badly if they don’t go exactly as you planned.

DealDash Encourages Positivity

DealDash positivity

Everyone can agree that being positive is a good thing. However, sometimes it’s easier said than done. Here are some tips and ideas from DealDash.

How are you doing today? That’s a very common question that many people from your family and friends to the cashier at the store ask you on a daily basis. You probably answer “Fine, thanks.” but wouldn’t you prefer to say “I’m doing great!” and really mean it? Here are some things that you can do to help get yourself in a more positive frame of mind.

Fake It Til You Make It

Not everyone wakes up feeling awesome, many people have a backache, are still tired, or have a headache when they wake up. Try to put those things aside, and think of the positives every morning. You can probably think of a few things, maybe family, friends, pets, or maybe what you’re planning on having for breakfast. Focus on the positive, and put a smile on your face, even if you aren’t really feeling it. It’ll make you feel a little better!

Eat A Healthy Breakfast

It seems like the people who are the grumpiest and unhappiest in the morning are those people that don’t eat breakfast. Let’s face it, you were just asleep for 7+ hours, your body needs some nourishment, even if it’s just a piece of toast and some juice. It’s hard to go about your day with a positive attitude when you feel like you’re starving.

Spend Time With Positive People

Don’t hang out with those Gloomy Gusses and Debbie Downers! Find a group of people to spend time with that shares your positive outlook on life. I’ve found that the happiest and most positive people are those that have a hobby or activity that they love. So check out some meet-up groups in your area for your favorite hobby, pastime, sport, or activity. I bet you’ll find some positive like-minded people there that you can have fun with and enjoy their company.

Look On The Bright Side

Lots of things happen in daily life that leaves you with a decision – are you going to look at them positively or negatively? For example, maybe you had a lunch date with a friend and she had to cancel. You have two choices: A – Sulk around about it and not go, or B – Go anyway and enjoy yourself. You should definitely pick B! If you don’t want to go by yourself, then ask another friend, co-worker, or family member to join you. Always look on the bright side, why not?

DealDash Says: Keep a Gratitude Journal

DealDash grateful

Keeping a gratitude journal can help you have more appreciation in life. Let DealDash help.

How do you start a gratitude journal, and where do you get one? Those might be the first questions that you have when thinking about gratitude journals. Luckily, those questions are very easily answered. Here are some ideas and tips for starting a gratitude journal, from DealDash.

Where Do I Get One?

Don’t overthink it! Any regular journal or notebook will do the trick. Simply go to a bookstore such as Barnes and Noble and pick out a beautiful journal or notebook that makes you think happy thoughts. You might want to select something with flowers, animals, or babies on it – whatever makes you happy.

You now what makes me happy? Getting something awesome for a discount. Did you know that DealDash offers Barnes and Noble gift cards up for auction? Yup, it’s true. If you’re planning on buying something at Barnes and Noble you might as well try to win a gift card. You can always BIN (Buy It Now) if you don’t win.

$25 Barnes & Noble Gift Card

How Do You Start One?

Just write. That’s all. Think about what makes you happy in life, how your life has improved, how loved you are by your family. Gratitude journaling has helped me see things not as problems as possibilities, instead.

What were formerly obstacles in my way are now chances to improve myself. Small things in my day that I would have never thought about before can become tiny little victories in my gratitude journal.

Who Can This Help?

A gratitude journal can be helpful for anyone who knows how to write, even children. In this hustle bustle world where nothing stops moving for a moment, it’s nice to sit down with your kids and talk about what we can be grateful about. Even if life is tough there’s always a few things that you can choose to be happy about, such as having good health, loved ones, friends, a job, or even something as simple as a treat to look forward to after dinner. There’s always something, no matter how dark your day has been.

I’m Grateful for My Readers

DealDash Helps You Overcome Failures

dealdash failures

Having failures in your life is just part of being human. How you overcome those failures can make a real difference. Let DealDash help.

When is the last time that you had a failure in life? Maybe it was not getting that job that you wanted, or perhaps making a mistake that cost you a friendship. You could just give up when you have a failure, or you can get right up, brush yourself off, and try again. Let DedalDash give you some tips on how to overcome your failures.

Get Emotional

Many adults are told to not express their emotions, to keep everything bottled up inside. However, the first step in overcoming your failures is to examine your emotions. Take some time to yourself and think about your emotions regarding your failure. These emotions might include anger, sadness, fear, or shame. Thinking about these emotions will enable you to work through your feelings without turning it inward on yourself or outward onto others.

Positive Thinking

Once you have examined your emotions regarding your failure, try to move on. Attempt to banish any more negative thoughts and feelings about the failure. With failure often comes the tendency to beat yourself up over it, but when those negative thoughts creep in try and replace them with positive or hopeful thoughts instead. Instead of thinking “I didn’t get that great job, I’ll never get a better job, why bother trying?” try to think positively. “Maybe I didn’t get that great job, but there are plenty of other choices out there. Let me see what other jobs I can send my resume in to today.”

Set Goals

Finally, the best way to overcome a failure is to set some positive and achievable goals that you can work towards completing. Start brainstorming and make a list of some goals that you can work on that will ultimately benefit you long-term.

For example, if getting a better job is your end goal, set some smaller goals that are more easily achieved such as working on your interview skills and sprucing up your resume. With each small goal that you meet it will strengthen your confidence and take you that much closer to your end goal.

I hope that you found this new DealDash article on overcoming failures helpful. DealDash Boosts Your Self-Esteem

Image result for self-esteem

Do you or someone you know have low self-esteem? DealDash is here to help you realize that you’re great!

Having low self-esteem can make life harder than it needs to be. When someone has low self-esteem they tend to be quiet and withdrawn and take fewer chances in life. Many times those chances could have led to great things such as a new job or relationship. Here are some tips from DealDash to help boost your self-esteem.

No One is Perfect

There is not a person out there that doesn’t have a flaw – none of us are perfect. We all have our faults. When you have low self-esteem it appears that everyone around you does things better, faster, and more efficiently than you. You might think that people are looking at you and judging you. These things are mostly in your head, though. We are all imperfect, we should strive to do our best in life but realize that we all make mistakes.

Be Kind to Yourself

Someone who has low self-esteem is usually their own worst critic. If they make a mistake they tend to berate themselves and it ruins their day. However, if someone else such as a friend, family member, or co-worker made the same mistake they would say something such as “It’s okay, you can try again.” or “It doesn’t matter, you will get it right the next time.” Why shouldn’t you treat yourself with as much compassion as you would someone else? Be kind to yourself, treat yourself compassionately.

Let Go of Past Mistakes

If you have self-esteem issues you are probably focusing too much on the past, wondering how you could have done things differently. Instead of focusing on the past you should set your sights on the future and how you can improve your situation. Don’t dwell in the past! It’s over and done with! Shake it off and get out there and do your best.

Do Something for Yourself

Working on boosting your self-esteem can be hard work! Why not take some time out to pamper yourself and pat yourself on the back for doing such a good job? Take a walk, get yourself a coffee, or win yourself something nice on DealDash! DealDash offers nice items for pampering yourself such as art, perfume, and decorative candles.

I hope that you found this article on taking care of your self-esteem helpful. Be sure to check back here as well as our sister blog DealDash Tips every day for fresh new articles. DealDash Deals With Debbie Downers

DealDash Deals with Debbie Downers

A Debbie Downer is someone who is always mopey and has a negative outlook on life. Here are some ideas to stay positive in the face of negativity.

We all know of someone who is always negative about anything and everything, someone who never answers “Good” or “Great” when someone inquires about their day. We call those people “Debbie Downers.” No offense to anyone named Debbie, of course. Debbie Downers can be a little bit difficult to spend time with because they tend to draw other people into their negativity. Here are some ideas from DealDash to stay positive when spending time with a Debbie Downer.

The best way to avoid negativity is to limit the time that you spend with a Debbie Downer, but that might not be possible if they are a co-worker or a close relative. What you can do, however, is try and turn the negativity into positivity by turning their complaints around. If they were to say “It’s so gross and rainy outside.” You could say “Oh, I love the rain, my plants need the water.” It might not make your Debbie Downer feel better, but it might put you in a better frame of mind.

Another way to stop a Debbie Downer in her unhappy tracks is to pre-emptively spread a little happiness. There’s something that almost everyone likes, and that’s compliments. When you see your Debbie Downer, give her (or him!) a compliment. Tell them that their hair looks good today, that you like their outfit, or that they are just the person that you wanted to see. There’s nothing like a little compliment to make someone’s day a little brighter.

Having a positive attitude is a choice, and having a negative attitude is as well. Why waste the energy on having a negative attitude when you can use the same effort to have a positive outlook instead? Think of the things that make you happy and strive to have a good day.

What makes you happy and have a positive attitude? I always tell people that my hobby is shopping, and it’s true! There are few things that cheer me up (other than my family, of course) than doing a little entertainment shopping on DealDash. DealDash has beauty items, toys, fun family items, household things, and so much more. Visit DealDash now to see how much you can save. Good luck and happy bidding everyone!

DealDash: Lifts Your Mood

Image result for mood lifting Are you feeling a little down lately? Maybe it’s the weather. Here are some mood-lifting ideas from DealDash. Feel better soon!

Is the cold dreary weather putting a damper on your mood? Or maybe you have a touch of Seasonal Affective Disorder? Maybe you are far away from your family and miss them around the holidays. Never fear, no matter what the problem is, DealDash has some helpful ideas to lift your mood and change your attitude.

If you’re the type of person who tends to be a little depressed or down about your circumstances lately, the best thing for you to do to lift your mood is to spend time with people you love that are cheerful. Emotions, both good and bad, are contagious. Wouldn’t you rather spend time with someone who is hopeful and excited about life? Yeah, me too. Your first step in changing your mood and attitude is to go figure out who in your life can be a positive and cheerful influence on you.

Another thing that you can do to lift your mood is to clean your house. Sure, it might not feel very fun at the time, but when you’re done you will definitely have a brighter outlook.

Along with cleaning up your home, clean up yourself! When I am feeling a little down I tend to wear PJs or baggy sweats all day. That’s just not a good idea! You should take a shower, fix your hair, and put on something that makes you look and feel great. If possible, try to wear something bright and cheerful. It will make you feel much better.

Did you know that scent correlates with your mood? If you’re feeling a bit down and would like to turn things around – try aromatherapy! Basil, Cypress, Lemon, Peppermint, and Rosemary are all scents that are known to be mood boosters. Or, if you prefer, you can buy pre-mixed essential oils that are blended for mood enhancement.

Lastly, there’s nothing like winning a DealDash auction to put you in a good mood in a hurry! Small or large, any win on DealDash is a big mood-booster. Visit DealDash now to check out the auctions. Good luck and happy bidding everyone!

DealDash Helps You Unwind

Image result for unwind help you

If you have a lot of stress in your life from work or other sources, you need to take some time to unwind.

How do you unwind? If you’re like most Americans you’re tired and stressed out daily. It’s very important for your health and well-being to figure out ways to help yourself unwind after a long, hard day. Here are a few tips from DealDash that will help you figure out your perfect strategy to unwind.

If you’re in dire need to unwind, if stress is literally making you sick – take a day off! If it’s not possible to get a day off of work then plan out a weekend day to do…absolutely nothing. If you need to get your spouse, a relative, or a babysitter to help you with the kids for a day then do it! Don’t feel guilty or embarrassed that you need to ask for help – everyone needs a day that they can be a little selfish and do exactly what they would like to do.

If your stress is at a more manageable level that you don’t feel the need to take an entire day off, then be sure that you are able to at least take an hour or so to yourself each and every day. Now, what you do in that  time is up to you, but here are some suggestions:

  • Take a class – cooking, painting, whatever you’re interested in
  • Go exercise – cardio, yoga, sports
  • Go to the coffee shop – if you don’t like coffee, drink hot chocolate!
  • Write in a journal or even make a blog
  • Start a new hobby. Try knitting or crochet, drawing, drone flying, you choose!
  • Get a pet. You can spend your free time cuddling it.
  • Volunteer – some people find helping others helps them relax
  • Bake cookies – yum yum!
  • Read a book – paper or ebooks are both great!
  • Bid on DealDash!

If you’re trying to unwind, there’s nothing better than bidding on DealDash. You can eliminate the chore of leaving the house to shop, you can have fun, and you can save money. It’s a win-win-win situation! To visit DealDash, just click this link right here. Enjoy unwinding on DealDash. Good luck and happy bidding everyone!

Doing Nice Things with DealDash

Image result for nice things

November is the month of being thankful – Being nice and being thankful go hand-in-hand. Let’s think of some ways to be nice to others.

Why wait until Thanksgiving to be thankful for your friends and family? Let’s be extra thankful all month and show our appreciation for friends and family by doing nice things. Here are a few ideas for nice things that you can do for others.

Flowers. You can get flowers to spruce up a friend’s house. You can get a nice pot of mums for outside, or a nice arrangement from the supermarket or the big-box hardware store for under $10. This is something that you can do for just about any age, from 20-90.

Hang decorations. If you have an older friend or family member who loves to decorate for the holidays but has trouble doing so due to age and agility, why not offer to help them hang their decorations this year? It’s an easy thing to do that will make them smile. Just be sure to let them know that you will be back after the holidays to help them take the decorations down as well.

Shovel. If it isn’t snowing where you are by now, make someone happy by letting them know that you will be by to help them shovel on the first snow of the season. This is especially helpful for the elderly.

Coffee. On your morning coffee run, why not pick up a few extra coffees for your co-workers? It’s an easy and inexpensive way to make someone smile. Bonus points if you know how they like their coffee, but you can always get it black with creamers and sugar on the side.

Wrapping. Do you have a friend or family member who has a lot of people that they buy presents for? Why not offer to help them wrap presents? I personally find wrapping presents fun, and I always volunteer to be the present-wrapper when I get an opportunity. It boggles my mind that some people dislike wrapping presents, and I am always happy to help them.

DealDash. Do you have a friend who needs a little cheering up? Why not win them something on DealDash? There are many fun things on DealDash that would make a wonderful surprise gift for someone who is feeling a little down. DealDash Helps: Effortless Health

Most people want to be healthy but few have the time and energy to devote a lot of time to improvement. You can make minor everyday changes that make a big difference in your health.

There are so many small things that you can do daily to make a big difference over time in your overall health. If you do many small things per day they can add up to big health benefits. Here are a few examples of small things that you can do daily that will improve your overall health without a lot of extra time or effort spent.

One of the most common things that you can do to improve your health without too much effort is to park in a spot as far away from the door as possible when you go shopping. For someone like myself that can add up to big benefits because as a Stay At Home Mom I go shopping almost every day. Not only do I get the benefits of the further walk, but I also get additional health benefits from having to carry my 15 pound infant son in his “baby bucket”. It’s cardio without having to drive to the gym!

Another small thing that you can do for your health is to replace your fat and calorie laden desserts with a healthier option such as fruit, low-fat yogurt, or even a popsicle. This change can make a dramatic difference in your weight if you normally eat cake, ice cream, or cookies every night for dessert. By cutting these things out and replacing them with a healthier option you can easily shave off 200-300 calories per day which will eventually turn into pounds lost over the next few months.

The last tip that I am going to suggest is extremely easy and very effective – drink more water! It takes zero effort on your part to swap out soda, juice, and other beverages for water and you will reap huge health benefits. Water is essential for your body to function, and you will feel much better once you are not in a constant low-level state of dehydration. In addition to the health benefits drinking more water can also benefit your wallet. If you have a water filter on your fridge or a Brita pitcher then your water will cost you less than 5 cents per cup, which is a huge improvement over $1+ for a bottle of soda.

DealDash Helps: Inspire Us

DealDash is a company that strives to be fair and honest. What could be more inspiring than that?

DealDash has a certain knack for inspiring people. Here are a few tips to help you be a more inspiring person. Do it for your family, for your friends, or for your co-workers. Everyone admires a person who they find to be inspiring.

What do you find inspiring? One of the things that I find the most inspiring personally is hope. Hope for the future, hope for life to be fair, hope for peace for the world and all of us in it. To be inspiring to people you have to give them hope. To give another person hope you need to show them that even if things are tough right now if they persevere there will be a light at the end of the tunnel, or a reward for the struggles that they are sure to face. Be inspiring by being realistic to challenges but having hope and faith that things will improve in the long run.

Think of any inspiring story that you have heard on the news or read about in the paper or online. What do all of these stories have in common? They have a real-life hero that isn’t afraid to do the right thing even in the face of adversity. To inspire people you have to be the best that you possibly can be, and act as a leader that people can look up to and feel comfortable following in your footsteps, trusting that you will do the thing that is best for everyone and not just yourself.

Who do you find inspiring? If you aspire to be a power bidder in the online auction world of DealDash then you should watch the auctions as much as possible and pick out a few bidders that you find inspiring and try to emulate their bidding style and their success. Why not start right now? Just follow this link to DealDash and get started! Good luck and happy bidding everyone!

Improve Your Outlook with DealDash

Everyone gets the blues now and again. Here’s a quick guide from DealDash on how to improve your mood and outlook on life.

The first logical step in trying to improve your mood and outlook is to identify if there’s something in your life that’s making you unhappy. Do you need more “me time”? Are you unhappy with your job? Are you lonely and need to make a few more friends? Once you have identified the problem (or problems) in your life that are making you unhappy is to try to think of a way to fix them. If you can’t think of any specific problem in your life that is making you unhappy then you might have a touch of depression, which you should speak to your doctor about, they can help.

If you have identified a problem, though, then the next step is thinking of a way to alleviate the problem. Let’s use the examples above just to get you thinking.

If you are a busy Mom and are in need of some serious “Me time” then the obvious plan of action is to get your partner to take the kids out (or you go out!) on a regular schedule so that you can get some “me time”, and if it’s on a regular basis then it’s much easier to be happy on a day-to-day basis because you have a set date to look forward to. If you don’t have a partner, or if they are not able to take the kids for you then you could hire a babysitter, or even swap babysitting with another Mom so you can both get some “Me time” in, and not have to pay for a babysitter.

If you’re unhappy with your job it’s time to figure out why, and what you can do to improve the situation. Some options might include telecommuting a few days per week, or doing 10 hour days 4 days per week and having 3 day weekends. If those aren’t options for you, perhaps you might want to think about looking for a different job that suits you better, or even going back to school if you feel that you are in the wrong field altogether. Most community colleges and trade schools have classes on nights and weekends, and almost all colleges have online classes that you can take to further your education.

In the last example loneliness was the problem. If you’re a shy person who has trouble making friends now that you’re an adult out of school then activity clubs are a possible solution for you. There are many places online that you can join different activity groups in your area that have regular meet-ups where the ice is already broken for you because you have a common goal. There are groups for every activity, from sports to crafts to cooking to Legos. This won’t guarantee that you will make new friends, but it’s a step in the right direction.
