That’s a great bargain compared to how much it would be to purchase a salad from school each day!

It’s a little scary to think about, but mishaps and medical emergency situations in the home take place regularly. It happens even more frequently than you might realize. Statistics have shown that injuries occur about every 4 seconds in the American home. These accidents vary and can occur from many different sources from cuts to burns and more. Each and every home needs to have at least one first Aid Kit that is well stocked and easily on hand. You might also want to consider making another first aid kit for your car, and a mini one for your purse or backpack. DealDash has you covered.

Where Should You Keep the Supplies

Firstly, you need a vessel to keep the items in. You can buy a box or bag that says “First Aid” or you can use something that you already have. Make sure you save your First Aid Kit in a carry bag or plastic container that will keep your kit tidy and dry and easily accessible in your house. Just be sure to mark it very carefully with the words “FIRST AID” so everyone knows what’s inside.

One of my daughter’s favorites is a veggie dip that is made with two simple ingredients. You just need a packet of ranch dry seasoning and a tub of plain greek yogurt. It’s much healthier than buying a pre-made ranch dressing or onion dip that’s made for chips. Another great dip for veggies is hummus. They even have new varieties of hummus that are chocolate and caramel flavor! These would be great to spread on apples or bananas. 

Be a Good Example

Another great way to get kids to eat more vegetables is to lead by example. If they see their parents eating more vegetables they will be more likely to start trying and eating them as well. If you avoid eating vegetables your kids will think that they can as well. Personally, I am not a fan of many different types of vegetables. However, I make sure that I cook at least one veggie side per night at dinner as well as have salads available. One veggie that the entire family can agree on is asparagus!

By not going out very much they can avoid overeating and indulging in other things like alcohol too often. Staying in with friends instead can be fun and you can also plan healthy snacks. This way they can enjoy a night in without overindulging.

Sports and Fitness

There are lots of opportunities to participate in sports in college, from actually being on a sports team to pick-up games of basketball, rounds of bowling or ice skating, or even just playing a little frisbee between class. Doing these sports, or simply some fitness activities in their day is an extremely smart thing to do if they want to stay fit while in college. If you can encourage your child to make the time to get exercise they will not only be staying fit they’ll also be making new friends as well. It may take some work for them to get into a routine but try to encourage them so that they can stay fit and healthy.

This is a big treat since we don’t eat fast food too often, so it usually works. My 6-year-old daughter hasn’t cried for shots since she was three – even when she had an allergic reaction and needed an epi-pen at school. If your kids aren’t big fans of fast food, then try to think of some other “extra special” treat for them that they might not get very often such as ice cream.

Bring a Friend

Don’t have your child go alone. Of course, you will be there with them, but what about taking a special stuffed animal with them as well? It could go really far in easing the fear of a visit to the emergency clinic. Also visits to the dentist or your family’s doctor. It’s very simple to pack along a small stuffed animal and you will be so surprised at how well it can work. After all, stuffed animals were made for hugging!

Choose the Right Doctor

If you are seeking a doctor for your child always be sure to find one that specializes in family medicine. It helps to know that they have a great bedside manner with kids. Getting recommendations as to which doctor to pick for your child is highly suggested. You can ask friends, neighbors, and relatives. You can also ask for suggestions from your child’s school, as well.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are one of the fastest growing plants, so they are perfect for beginners.  Choose a bush such as a Cherry Cascade that can be planted in window boxes. Bush varieties do not require side-shotting or any training, so you just need to water and feed them before the tomatoes start growing. If you don’t want to grow them from seeds, no problem! Buy some baby plants from your local garden store and replant them into pots or into the ground when it gets a bit warmer out. Tomatoes are all three of my kid’s favorite veggie to grow in the summer.

Radishes

Radishes are perfect for different meals such as salads, and they are easy to grow.  You can sow them directly into the ground or grow them in containers during the summertime. It is a quick growing vegetable, and it is low maintenance. Radishes are the perfect example of low effort and high yield in the veggie world.

Once you have your fish for grilling you will need to make sure that you are preparing it correctly for grilling.  If you are grilling a thicker cut of fish like salmon, you need to marinate it for 4-5 hours before grilling it to really bring out the flavor. If you are grilling a more delicate cut of fish like tilapia you will want to grill it in a foil package to avoid it falling apart on the grill. No matter what kind of fish you use you can easily read it’s grilling instructions by doing a quick internet search.

Now it’s Time to Grill

Now that you have properly prepared your fish, you need to grill it correctly. Make sure that you have oiled the grill so that your fish will not stick while grilling. If you have marinated your fish, make sure to pat it dry with a paper towel so that you can get a nice sear on it. If you have not marinated your fish make sure to add salt and pepper before putting your fish on the grill.
