DealDash Tips for Christmas Decoration Organization

DealDash

Now is a great time to go through your Christmas decorations and get them organized for the upcoming holiday. Here are some tips and ideas from DealDash to get organized.

Everyone looks forward to the holidays. Christmas is one of the most anticipated holidays that happens every year. It is the perfect time to connect with old friends and family members. Although Christmas is fun to celebrate, preparing for Christmas can become stressful. Christmas decorations are a necessity during the holidays. Holiday decorations will help you get into the Christmas spirit. There are ways to organize your Christmas Decorations. It is easier than you think. Read on for more information!

Organize Your Ornaments

Your ornaments can easily get lost if you do not keep them all in one place.  A cardboard box with dividers is sturdy enough to keep your ornaments in place. You can find segmented boxes in the store or use an old wine box. Avoid storing your Christmas decorations in the attic because of the humidity. Your Christmas decorations will be safe and tidy under your bed or in a closet.

Make Sure That Your Lights Work

Checking to see if your Christmas lights work every year is imperative. It is easy for one of the bulbs to go out. Instead of keeping your lights in a box, it is best to store them in individual freezer bags. Keep all of the extra fuses and bulbs stored away in a kit. Make sure to wrap the strands around the lights in a loop, to protect it from damage.

Gift Wrapping Station

The best way to store gift wrapping supplies and paper is to create a station. You can use a pegboard in any size to store your gift-wrapping materials. The materials you will need are tape, wrapping paper, scissors, gift tags, and a hole puncher. Creating a gift-wrapping station for all of your supplies will make organizing your materials easier.

DealDash Keeps Your Kitchen Organized

DealDash

You don’t have to be a gourmet chef to want an organized kitchen. Here are some tips from DealDash to help.

With the kitchen being one of the busiest rooms in the house it takes more than simply putting things in the right place to keep things organized. You also need to think of things like meal planning and grocery shopping to keep things moving smoothly. Here are some tips to create a more organized kitchen in your home, from DealDash.

Plan Your Meals

Take some time to plan meals. While this can seem like a time-consuming task it will actually end up saving you a lot of time. You will know exactly what you have for dinner and what you need to prepare it. This is so you do not have to spend more time in the kitchen than you really have to when preparing a meal. It can also help speed up the grocery buying process as well.

Grocery Shopping

This leads us to grocery shopping. Plan your shopping times in advance so you know that you will have the items that you need to prepare the meals that you want to serve when you want to serve them. This really goes hand in hand with meal planning so be sure to take advantage of doing both of them. This will help keep your kitchen organized because you won’t be buying lots of excess items to fill your kitchen and pantry.

Prep in Advance

Make sure when you are preparing your food to do all of the needed prep work in advance. Take the time to preheat the oven, chop vegetables, and do anything else ahead of time that you can.  This will help you spend much less time in the kitchen than trying to do everything all at once. This will also cut down on the mess and chaos in your kitchen. Prepping in advance and cleaning up after each step will help keep your kitchen organized.

Clean Up After Yourself

As I mentioned above, be sure to clean up your messes in the kitchen as soon as possible. This again will help to limit your time in the kitchen and is also a great safety precaution as you do not want anyone to get hurt on someone’s mess. Cleaning up thoroughly can help prevent slip and fall accidents.

Thanks for Reading

These are just a few tips to help organize your kitchen. If you take the time to do things like meal plan and do prep work in advance you will love how much more organized your kitchen will become.

DealDash Stores Food in the Fridge Properly

DealDash

Storing your food properly in the fridge can save you money. Here is more information from DealDash.

Since grocery bills these days can really add up you are no doubt are looking for ways to make your food last longer. One way that you make your food last longer is to make sure that you are storing your food properly in the refrigerator. The more you learn about how to properly store the food that you put in your refrigerator the more you will be able to stretch your food dollar. Read on for more information from DealDash.

Keep it Cold and Clean

You are going to find that there are a number of foods that need to be refrigerated so that there will be no bacterial growth on them. Many of these foods will have a use by date for your reference. You will need to keep your refrigerator at the appropriate temperature as well as making sure that you keep your refrigerator clean. Any foods that have been removed from their packaging will need to be placed inside a sanitary container for storage in the refrigerator.

Place Meats at the Bottom

There are many times that you are not going to need to prepare all the meat that you have purchased for a meal. This means that some will need to go into the refrigerator in sanitary containers that are able to close securely. Meats should always be placed at the bottom of the refrigerator so nothing will drip onto other foods. You should never prepare any meats that have gone past their expiration date.

Freeze Foods Before They Expire

You are also going to find that when it comes to placing food in the freezer you will want to follow several rules. For example, make sure that you freeze foods that you plan to use later before their expiration date has passed. Also, make sure to completely defrost foods before you start cooking with them.

Thanks for Reading the Blog

This is really just the start of the things you can do in the kitchen to store foods properly. By following these rules you will be able to see that you will stretch your food out longer. This means you will not have to throw out so much food.

DealDash Helps Create a Calm Office Space

DealDash

Do you want to feel happier at more calm at work? If so, then read this article from DealDash.

Going to work can sometimes be stressful. However, if you can manage to turn your personal office space or cubicle into a place that you feel relaxed then your happiness and your productivity will increase. A stark environment with bare white walls does nothing to calm you or make you feel at ease. Try some of these tips from DealDash to improve your office life by creating a calming office space.

Plants, Plants Everywhere

There is nothing more calming or stress-reducing than some beautiful green plants in your work space. Plants can de-stress you, make you feel more relaxed, and look nice as well. I prefer real plants, but the artificial kind will work as well. If you aren’t a big fan of leafy green plants, then just try a small succulent on your desk or a small bouquet of flowers to cheer up your space.

Clean Up

If you have 22 different post-its stuck around your cubicle, along with various papers, pens, and half-eaten food (ew!) then it’s time to clean up your office space. Clean up is simple, just start with the things that can definitely be thrown away or recycled such as that half-eaten bagel and those lunch take-out menus that you can easily look up online if you need them. Once you have thrown away the trash, then tidy up the rest by organizing them nicely. You will feel much better about your space when it’s clean.

Adding a Touch of Home

Now that you have gotten some nice plants and cleared away your trash and recyclables, it’s time to decorate. Bring in a few framed photos of your family, friends, or pet. They will make you feel more calm and happy through the stress of the day. You can also bring in your favorite coffee mug, and even a foot massager for under your desk (Shhhh! I won’t tell!). If you are a fan of the new flameless LED candles you could bring in one of those as well. They typically have remotes so you can change their color throughout the day to suit your mood.

Music to My Ears

If you aren’t required to be on the phone most of the day, then bring in your favorite music. You can load up your iPod with different playlists to complement your mood. Make a “busy day” playlist with background music, and a “slow day” playlist with lots of upbeat songs to get you through a slow day. If you have your own office then a Bluetooth speaker might be the thing for you, however, if you are out in the “cubicle farm”, then you’ll need to get headphones or ear buds. If your job requires you to answer the phone then try just sticking in 1 ear bud so you can hear when the phone rings.

DealDash: 10 Quick Tips to Home Organization

DealDash

Hate clutter? Here are 10 quick tips to get your home organized, from DealDash.

Keeping your home organized can be a daunting task, especially if you have children. It does however not need to be this way. With these ten tips you will have your home organized in no time at all. Read on for more information, from DealDash.

1- Start Small

Starting small is definitely the way to go as if you try to do everything all at once you are going to get overwhelmed and get nothing done.

2- Make a Plan

Assess the situation so that you know exactly what you need to get done. Just diving right into the job with no organization is not a good plan as you are likely to get little done is the way of organizing your home

3- Don’t Go Alone! Get the Family Involved

Getting your family involved in your organizing your home. This is a great way to teach them responsibility for taking care of their things.

4- Room By Room Makes it Easier

Going room by room is going to help you keep track of what has been done and what needs to be done and again it will save you from being overwhelmed.

5- Do Some Research on Organizing

Doing a little research can also be helpful when you want to get some more organization in your home. You can visit websites that deal with home organization so you can see hat tips you can apply to your own home.

6- Get Your Supplies Ready Beforehand

Making sure that you will have all the needed supplies for organizing your home is another smart thing to do so that you will be able to complete all of the organizational tasks that you want to do to get your home organized.

7- Make it a Game

If you have been paying attention to these tips, then you are planning on getting your family involved. If you have kids, then making organizing a game can make them more eager to help you. Take a few clothes baskets and decide what you want in each one. Let the kids “play basketball” and throw the things in the baskets.

8- Listen to Music

There’s no need for organizing to be silent drudgery! Make an “organization playlist” on YouTube or Itunes. Fill it with upbeat and dancy songs. It will make your organizing go by much faster, I promise.

9- Do it When You’re Fresh

Don’t wait until the end of the day to try and get things organized. If you have time during the workday, then do it then. If you work a regular 9-5, then save the organizing for a weekend day. And remember, it’s much easier to do if you have been trying to keep things in their places all along.

10- Don’t Procrastinate, Get it Done

The best tip that you can remember for getting your home organized is to just make sure that you complete the work. Procrastination is your worst enemy when it comes to getting your home organized. So once you have done your research and you have all the needed supplies you just need to get the work done.

DealDash: Create A Craft Space at Home

DealDash crafts

Love crafting? Having a dedicated craft space in your home makes things so much easier. Let DealDash help.

I’ve been a crafter all my life, but I’ve only had a dedicated craft room for the past two years. It was a must when we were looking at houses to buy. If you don’t have space for an entire craft room in your home, you just need a little corner all to yourself. It’s easy to make a small space the perfect little crafting area if you do things with organization in mind. Here are some ideas from DealDash to help you get started.

Where Can You Craft?

Anywhere! However, I suggest a nice little cozy corner in your kitchen, dining room, or family room. It’s best if there is a window for some natural light. You’ll definitely need at least one outlet, preferably more, depending on your craft of choice. Be sure that you get yourself a power strip surge protector as well. If you have a storage room, finished basement, or even a walk-in closet those would be even better. You don’t need a lot of space, just work with what you have.

What Do You Need in Your Craft Space?

It depends on the craft, of course! If knitting and crochet are your crafts of choice, then you most likely just need a comfy chair and somewhere to store your yarn and other supplies. Scrapbookers, on the other hand, will definitely need a desk along with lots of extra storage for all of their supplies. Think about all of your crafting supplies and how you can organize them nicely to fit into the space that you have available. You’re obviously the creative type, so get thinking!

Shelving, Racks, and Pegboards Oh My!

After you have started setting up your crafting space you’ll want to re-evaluate your storage situation. Almost every craft that I can think of would benefit from shelving, racks, or a pegboard – or possibly a combination. Shelving can be made inexpensively with brackets and painted 2X4s, and racks can be the cheaper plastic kind or you can spring for the nicer metal ones. Let your needs and your budget dictate what you install in your craft area.

Small Storage

Once the big items are taken care of in your crafting space, it’s time to think about the little things. Most crafting involves lots of tiny pieces, from needles, pins, thread, stickers, staples, markers, etc. Do yourself a favor and buy 5-10 matching small storage tubs for all of your different small supplies. Label them and fill them with your things. Arrange them on your shelving that you just put up, and enjoy your new crafting space!

DealDash: 6 Things Organized People Do

DealDash organized

Being organized makes your life easier. Here are 6 things organized people do, from DealDash.

Have you ever seen those moms who leave their kids at school who are well-dressed, with their hair perfect? They look like they have their whole life more organized than you could ever hope? Well, all those people have some secrets in common, which they use in order to save time and do the tasks they have to do every day. Here they are:

They Use Their Smartphone as an Assistant

This fun gadget can help you communicate with your peers, can be your calendar, personal assistant, and the reminder of all your daily tasks. Synchronize your phone’s calendar with your spouse’s phone calendar and stop stressing to remember jot every appointment in different places. There are a lot of apps available on the market today that can help you do it, no matter if you have an iPhone or an Android.

They Organize Their Mail

It doesn’t matter if it’s the mail you get from the mailman or your emails, try to pay your bills when you receive them. Also, try to answer e-mails at exactly the moment you receive them if you can. The technology that we have today can help make your life easier, and you can pay almost all of your bills online.

They Plan Their Meals in Advance

It might look like a lot of work for a single individual, but planning your meals in advance makes life so much easier. The planning of a meal does not need to be made with military precision, be flexible. When you are eating breakfast with your family, you can discuss a meal plan that appeals to all of your family members. After that, you can go to the supermarket and buy the required ingredients. Let your family help you, make life easier on yourself!

They Wash The Laundry at the Right Time

Have you ever went to sleep the night before a special meeting, with an outfit in mind for the next day…Only to wake up in the morning, and find that your ideal outfit is not clean? I know how frustrated you were. It’s happened to me many times. This is why you should try and wash your clothing and put it away as soon as possible to prevent this kind of issue.

They Wake Up Earlier Than Required

If you don’t like to wake up early, I understand that! I am a night owl, myself. I’m sure that you try to take advantage of every minute of sleep that you can. However, organized people know that even five minutes can make a big difference in the morning. Waking up earlier can give you some extra time to do your morning tasks before the rest of your family wakes up and makes their demands.

They Pack Their Bag the Night Before

The morning is always a chaotic time, especially if you have kids. Avoid any mistakes and forgotten items by packing your bag the night before. If you bring your lunch to work, make sure that you pack that as well. Just don’t forget it in the fridge in the morning!

DealDash Cleans Out Those Closets

Image result for clean closet

You should be cleaning out your closets twice per year – once in the spring, and once in the fall. The fall is upon us, let’s clean!

It’s easy to let your closet get away from you, especially if you are a big shopper, like myself. If you are reading the DealDash entertainment shopping blog, then I am going to assume that you are a big shopper as well. I find myself picking up new clothing items for myself or my children on a weekly basis, I am a sucker for a great deal, and I will often buy things that are definitely not in season in order to save some money. Now is the time to get organized.

The first thing that you need to do is to take out all of the items in your closet that scream “SUMMER!!” these include bathing suits, swim cover ups, shorts, tank tops, and floppy hats. After you have removed all of the summer things, take a good look through them. Are there items that you don’t often wear, or you bought without trying on, and when you got home and tried them they just weren’t your style? Make 3 piles – keep, give to a friend, and donate.

The keep pile is easy, stick those keepers in some large Rubbermaid-style totes and pack them away in your attic, basement, or wherever you chose to store them. If you would like to keep them fresh and ready to go for next year, stick in a few of those cedar disks or even just a dryer sheet or two. Be sure to label your totes so you can find them easily when it’s time to put out the summer clothing again.

Next is the give to a friend pile. Do you have a friend who is your size that would enjoy your hand-me-downs? If you’re cleaning your child’s closet, do they have a cousin or other younger family member who would fit into their discarded clothing next summer? Why not bag them up and give them to your friend or family member? It’s an easy thing to do, and might make that person’s day a little brighter.

Lastly, is the donation pile. Anything that you aren’t planning on keeping, and have no one in your immediate friend or family circle that can use them, why not bag them up give them to your local charity shop? I personally prefer smaller, locally owned charity shops versus corporate ones, they tend to keep donated items in the community rather than shipping them out elsewhere, but that’s just my personal preference. Give your discarded clothing to whatever charity you feel comfortable giving them to, and enjoy that good karma!

Now that you have cleaned out your closet, why not reward yourself with a little entertainment shopping on DealDash? DealDash has everything that you might want for your home such as artwork, furniture, and kitchen supplies. DealDash also has gift cards, in case you don’t see exactly what you are looking for. Just click this link right here, and see how much you can save. Good luck and happy bidding everyone!
