Tips From DealDash to Make Couponing Easier

DealDash

Do you love coupons? I know I do! Here are some tips from DealDash to make couponing go more smoothly.

Many people these days are looking for ways to stretch their monthly income so that there are able to do things like affording groceries all month or perhaps even starting a savings account. Using coupons is a great way to be able to save money on the items that you are already purchasing, namely the groceries that you purchase every month. Here are some ways to have the best possible experience when you take up couponing, from DealDash.

Figure Out a System

You need to develop a system that will make sense to you. There are many suggestions out there for what is the best system for taking care of coupons but you need to make sure that you select an organizational method that is going to be easy for you to understand. You will also want to get into a routine of making use of the same day each week to deal with the coupons that you want to use. Personally, I suggest an accordion-style folding wallet to keep your coupons in. Other people prefer binders or even just an envelope. Do what works best for you.

Get Rid of the Expired Ones

You will also want to purge expired coupons from your collection as often as possible. This way you do not run the risk of counting on savings that you are not going to be able to get. You need to make sure that you are always using coupons that are within their expiration date. Additionally, to be able to fully maximize your savings you need to avoid impulse purchasing and only buy what you need. If you buy things you do not need you are going to end up spending more and not saving money.

Learn the Ropes at Your Favorite Store

When you are just starting out with coupons start with your local grocery store. Learn all that you can about the store’s coupon policy and learn how to pair coupons with sales that the store may be having. You will soon develop a plan that will work for you in regards to using coupons so you can use it at other stores for other items that you need to purchase. Once you have mastered your local grocery store, you can move on to other stores. Try to just take it one store at a time so you don’t get the coupon policies confused.

DealDash Beats Loneliness for At-Home Parents

DealDash

Are you a stay-at-home mom or dad? Here are some tips to beat the loneliness, from DealDash.

When you are a stay at home parent it can get a little lonely. Typically, this is because you are missing out on a lot of adult interaction. The great news is that there are several things that you can do in order to be a little less lonely as a stay-at-home parent.

Limit Your Screen Time

One thing that you can do in order to not feel as lonely is to put your cell phone away. You may be tempted to go on social media to see what your friends are up to but this doesn’t replace actual human interaction. You want to actually pick up the phone and call one of your friends to see what they are up to as it can really help you feel a little less lonely. Not only that, it’s so easy to waste the entire day “Just checking FaceBook for a minute”. This isn’t fair to your kids or to yourself. Call up a friend who has a child and have a playdate!

Keep Up on Your Reading

If you have the opportunity you should read a book. While this may be somewhat difficult with more than one child if you are able to read even for a little bit it is a great way to pass the time. Losing yourself for a while in a good book is a wonderful way to get rid of some of the stress of being on your own while your spouse is at work. If your kids are young enough to still take a nap, use that time to catch up on a good book. If your kids are too old for naps, great! That means that they should be able to play on their own for 30 minutes so you can read for just a little while.

Keep In Touch

You can also choose to keep in touch with your partner during the day. Even if it is just a few short texts you will feel a lot better having that needed contact with your partner. Talk with your partner to see what kind of contact you could have during the time that they are gone so you know that it will work for both of you. Don’t despair if they don’t have time during the workday to talk or text with you, though. Try texting your siblings or a friend instead.

Thanks for Reading

Being a stay-at-home parent can be very lonely sometimes, but if you take the time to think about it there are many things that you can do to feel a little less lonely. This helps you focus more on your kids, working around the house and even taking time out for yourself.

Reaching Your Goals with Help from DealDash

DealDash

Sometimes you just need a little help to reach your goals. Here are some tips from DealDash to get you started.

Let’s face it, achieving your goals can be hard. That’s why they are called “goals” and not “stuff you do every day”. You may have a personal goal such as running a 5K or getting a promotion, or you may have a team goal such as winning a trophy. Most goals are achievable through hard work and practice. Here are some tips from DealDash to keep you striving for your goals.

What is Your Goal

Before you can work on achieving your goal, you need to know exactly what it is. Really think about it, and jot down some notes. For example, I mentioned above that your goal might be to run a 5K. Is your goal to enter a race and complete the 5K, or is your goal to just become a better runner? Write down your thoughts on your goal, and come up with a solid answer.

Once you have come up with a solid goal, then it’s time to work on a plan to achieve it. Please note, that some goals are simply not possible, but you can put forth your best effort and improve yourself along the way.

Break it Up

After you’ve come up with your goal it’s time to come up with some steps to achieve your goal. You typically can’t go from zero to goal, you have to complete some steps along the way. Using the 5K example, you can’t go from never running to entering a 5K. You would have to start slowly, first by walking the distance, then by walking and running, then running the distance. This goal would typically take a few months to achieve if you worked very hard. Even if you didn’t ultimately achieve your goal you would still be improving your health with every step. So figure out the steps that are needed with your particular goal, and get to work.

Think Positively

From the moment you have decided what your goal is to the day of completion, it’s important to think positively. Thinking positively can put you in a better frame of mind and encourage yourself to complete your goal. Even when the going gets tough, it’s important to keep a good attitude and think positively.

DealDash Helps: Teach Kids About Money

Teaching your little ones about saving money can be tricky. DealDash is here to help.

Teaching your kids about handling money responsibly is very important. With younger children, they may need visual examples to understand the basics of saving money. This is why it would be a great idea to help them start saving money in a piggy bank. Read on, for more information from DealDash.

See How Much!

There are several advantages to teaching younger kids to save money in a piggy bank. Namely, they will be able to literally see the amount of money that you have saved together grow right before their eyes. That way they can see that with some patience a nice amount of money can be saved. Growing money in a bank account is too abstract for most small children. Seeing those coins and bills pile up in their piggy bank is much more satisfying for them.

They’re the Boss

Another advantage to saving money with your younger child in a piggy bank is that they can learn the responsibility of being in charge of handling money. You can put the piggy bank in their room or a central location in your home and put your child in charge of putting money in the piggy bank. Small kids often feel like they don’t have many chances to be “in charge” of things in their life. Giving them the chance to be in charge of their own piggy bank will instill responsibility and pride.

The Value of Saving Up

You will also teach your child how important it is to save money when you want to make a large purchase. Maybe your child wants a new and more expensive toy than you are willing to buy. Or perhaps they would like to see a movie or go on a day trip somewhere fun? Talk with them about this and make a plan to set a goal to save for a purchase or event. Once they have completed saving and get to buy the item that they want they will see how it pays off to have savings.

Keep an Eye on the Bank

The only real downside to saving money in a piggy bank is that your child might be tempted to take money out to get something small that they want. You need to show them that this would be OK but they need to come to you and talk about what it is that they want. They should not just take money out of the piggy bank without asking. Again, it is a good lesson in the responsibility of handling money.

Thanks for Reading

Piggy banks can be a great teaching tool to help younger kids learn the benefits of saving money. So if you feel like your child is old enough to start learning this important lesson, you just may want to help them pick out a piggy bank the next time you’re out.

DealDash Helps Create a Calm Office Space

DealDash

Do you want to feel happier at more calm at work? If so, then read this article from DealDash.

Going to work can sometimes be stressful. However, if you can manage to turn your personal office space or cubicle into a place that you feel relaxed then your happiness and your productivity will increase. A stark environment with bare white walls does nothing to calm you or make you feel at ease. Try some of these tips from DealDash to improve your office life by creating a calming office space.

Plants, Plants Everywhere

There is nothing more calming or stress-reducing than some beautiful green plants in your work space. Plants can de-stress you, make you feel more relaxed, and look nice as well. I prefer real plants, but the artificial kind will work as well. If you aren’t a big fan of leafy green plants, then just try a small succulent on your desk or a small bouquet of flowers to cheer up your space.

Clean Up

If you have 22 different post-its stuck around your cubicle, along with various papers, pens, and half-eaten food (ew!) then it’s time to clean up your office space. Clean up is simple, just start with the things that can definitely be thrown away or recycled such as that half-eaten bagel and those lunch take-out menus that you can easily look up online if you need them. Once you have thrown away the trash, then tidy up the rest by organizing them nicely. You will feel much better about your space when it’s clean.

Adding a Touch of Home

Now that you have gotten some nice plants and cleared away your trash and recyclables, it’s time to decorate. Bring in a few framed photos of your family, friends, or pet. They will make you feel more calm and happy through the stress of the day. You can also bring in your favorite coffee mug, and even a foot massager for under your desk (Shhhh! I won’t tell!). If you are a fan of the new flameless LED candles you could bring in one of those as well. They typically have remotes so you can change their color throughout the day to suit your mood.

Music to My Ears

If you aren’t required to be on the phone most of the day, then bring in your favorite music. You can load up your iPod with different playlists to complement your mood. Make a “busy day” playlist with background music, and a “slow day” playlist with lots of upbeat songs to get you through a slow day. If you have your own office then a Bluetooth speaker might be the thing for you, however, if you are out in the “cubicle farm”, then you’ll need to get headphones or ear buds. If your job requires you to answer the phone then try just sticking in 1 ear bud so you can hear when the phone rings.
